Ricky thank you so much for this experiment. I remember back in the day when you stopped using artificial crab meat for your fry and switched to shrimp. Anyway yesterday after watching your video while at work 🤣 I picked up this crab meat to feed my fronts and boy oh boy did they go for it. They went crazy for it way better than the usual shrimp that I feed. Please keep us posted on your experiment in the future. Another great Ricky Kenerly video. You should use that lol. Since I have been feeding the crab meat to the colony I have been feeding once every other day! It seems to be going good so far. I may change things long term after observing them awhile but for now that is what I do!

My frontosa is very skinny. Doesn't really like pellets nor any dry food. He will eat a few but when I hand fed him flakes he gobbled them up. But that creates too much mess and clogs filters quick. I tried the imit crab and no go, ignoring it. What's next option?

If they were all in one room I would do that more often! They are in three rooms at the moment! I might in the future do a video with each room to make it easier on me and not so long for each video! Thanks for watching!

That's. What I've done with my frontosas I switched them to fresh shrimp, meal worms and krill.

@@jimlenart I am now only feeding raw frozen shrimp. Crab meat is much cheaper. I may try going back to it soon. The shrimp cost was adding up!

So ricky, i asked a question in one of your other videos about the shrimp. the one you say its not good to use cooked shrimp, so what is the difference in artificial crab meat, because it is cooked, other than its not shrimp.

Cooked shrimp is harder in texture. Crabmeat is soft!

Hey Ricky love your vids and amaizing information you are providing. I wanted to ask you if you knew why my frontosas appeared to be swallowing bubbles from the top of the sponge filter. 1 is constantly doing it, going back and forward from filter to filter. Thank you!!!

Where did you find those awesome rocks with the holes in them? I’ve been looking for some nice rocks like that, they look large enough for my females to hide in

They are Penn Plax Deco caves! You can get them at Kensfish.com or other online retailers. Some local fish stores carry them as well!

I just got 7 small fronts in a 120 tank. Feeding them blood worms and cichlid flake. They're eating well. Heard they need a high vegetable diet somewhere. Is that true? You ever give any plant or veg matter to yours?

I fed mine algae wafers for years! That is what I used to raise my Frontosa Fry with! They eat fish in the wild so they do need protein but most fish food has enough!

I have 2 frontosa in my African chiclid tank and put in different foods put in brine shrimp, and a mix of flake and garlic frozen food is that ok for these?

are you sure its ok? artificial crab meat normally being used in seafood salad and they have got more flour and other artificial ingredients than crab meat itself

The crab meat is still pretty easy for the fish to chew and digest. With shrimp it is a little harder to chew when cooked and is usually more expensive.

I think they would love it. When I had less frontosas I gave some to my peacocks and they ate it up fast!

Most times it is the local grocery store where I live at. There is not a link that I know of that you can order it from! It is the artificial kind that is mostly made up of different kinds of fish!
