I have never seen an air vent in a kitchen sink. Maybe that's because I've always had two-sided kitchen sink, I guess the other side acts as the air vent.
I don't think you can use vinegar on a black composite granite sink. The vinegar will be too acidic. Everything that I read said to use mineral oil on it, and that worked perfectly.
