At least he or she did the decent thing by leaving their details. I woke up to see my car hit and the idiot did not leave any details. I’m so upset 😢😢

I’m very sorry for what you’re going through. Have you called the police yet? Perhaps someone filed a police report of what happened. Maybe your insurance protects against hit-and-run drivers.

What do I do if I don’t have any witnesses left my friends house and came out to my car having a dent on the left door

i just got my jeep repaired and someone backed in to my jeep while i was working at a wholesale store and someone was kind enough to leave a note as a witness. thanks to the lady who left the run aways information because it will help my insurance alot.

Oh no, that’s awful. Thank goodness for the witness. That’s definitely a hit & run and will cost them for not doing the right thing. Hope your Jeep is up soon for Christmas.

my car was unfortunately involved in a hit and run but the truck was found from video camera footage but still isn’t enough proof to deem the guy as the driver 😖 i don’t know what else to do 💔

Hello Joe GUAPO - even if you don’t intend to file a claim, it’s important to update your provider about any damage to your car. If you don’t you could end up invalidating your coverage. Also - if somebody finally comes through as being a witness or they turn themselves in, you never filed, so it would either be out-of-pocket expenses or no deductible towards the claim.

This won't work in India and you will get lot of eye witnesses. And best thing is that ultimately you have to bare your damage expenses.

I would follow the instructions from the police and take pictures of the damage to your vehicle - get witnesses if possible, ask the plaza parking for the surveillance footage, if possible.

I bet they did not want to talk about dimished value did they? ....... carfact will now report that to everyone your car is now worth less after repair

That is very true about Carfax and car depreciation. It can also affect your car insurance payout if there’s a total loss. You can also make the most of it in some cases. For instance, my car insurance used to be really high to drive a sports muscle car. After the hit and run, my car insurance became considerably lower, once they checked the VIN number.

Does the person who is at fault need any of your insurance information besides your drivers license?

Hi Adrian, You and the other driver should report the accident to the police so they can file a report. Drivers need to exchange names, insurance information, phone numbers, and license plate numbers. If you have evidence such as photographs and documentation of your injuries, hold on to these so you have evidence. Then, tell your insurance company as soon as possible. If asked, you can show your driver’s license to any other driver involved in the accident.

@@jesselopezvlog What if my vehicle isn’t insured at the moment? Does that affect the situation in anyway? Because my vehicle was parked and hit but the other party left their information. Also the report has already been made with police.

That’s a very good question. I’m no expert in this situation, unfortunately. Is your vehicle de-registered at the moment? Maybe try calling an insurance company in your area or the DMV to see what your options are. Good luck!

Why call the police? And also can you not just settle it between you two without telling the insurance company???

@@andreas-rb1mc the insurance company will know because when you go to the repair shop they have to record everything they do to your vehicle by way of your vin#. The insurance pulls that report every year to give you a quote for renewal cost. That's how it's done in america anyways.

Yeah, I was a bit surprised actually. The doctor that hit me must’ve had some amazing car insurance or the laws here in Germany are way different for hitting cars with bigger engines. I’ll take it for the trouble 😅
