Had a lady tried to hit and run on me yesterday. I was rear ended and As I was speaking with her I could see her eyeballing the mirrors, and she turned the wheel and almost ran me over to leave. I ripped the damn keys out, now shes getting arrested and prosecuted. If she was to escape... nothing would have been done.

Definitely don’t chase them! I had the woman’s description, plate, direction of travel. Within ten minutes of being in a police station they found her :)

Fucking cop told me that my witness wasn’t reliable just because he was a homeless person even tho he saw and got the information of the vehicle that hit me

My father was involved in a hot and run, he was picking me up from school..some lady just banged the scooter hard and his foot got badly hurt (he is gone to get stitches),so he did not saw the number plate or anything but he only knows the colour of the car (white)..

A truck backed into my car when I had my husband had his foot on the brakes. This took place in wells fargo parking lot. My head light is broken and no damages on his car. On the accident report it stated that both vehicles were in motion. I tried to get the accident report amended but the police officer still made it look like I was at fault. I then asked the police officer could she obtain the footage at the bank but she stated that since there was no medical injuries it would be a discretion. I really don't want to pay for what the other party did to my car. I feel the only way I can prove that I am in the right is if I can obtain the footage at Wells Fargo but she refuses to do get the footage due to no medical injures. Do you have any advice?

@@fernze.6478 Well, I suppose by your thinking North America should be returned to the nomadic tribes of Neanderthals who were roaming the land before the Native Americans crossed the land bridge that connected North America to Asia during the Ice Age 15,000 years ago. By extension, the entire world should be returned to the warring, nomadic tribes of sub-Saharan Africans since that was the cradle of civilization. Good luck with that.

In New York State there are so many cars being driven illegally that there is an epidemic of hit and run auto accidents. The NYS DMV and police estimate that in parts of some cities one out of every two cars is illegal. The NY Legislature, in their infinite wisdom, decided to address this problem by REDUCING the penalties for hit and run accidents DOWN from a Class A misdemeanor to a traffic infraction if there are no deaths or serious injuries requiring hospitalization from the accident. Their reasoning was that treating hit and runs as a criminal offense was having a disproportionate impact on some minority groups who are committing the hit and runs. New York roads are now like something like a Mad Max movie. My advice is to get the best insurance you can afford.

I came out to my car the other morning and found someone hit it and took off. Nobody says they saw anything.... Guess I'm just S.O.L.

If your plates get tracked and cameras catch you, you can do a minimum of 6 months in jail and pay $1500+ as a fine
