Many of these rioting idiots are not even from the city. They drive down to loot and commit violence and mayhem and then drive back to their homes while the residents are left with a wasteland to wake up to. One of the saddest parts of the initial riots was the interviews with black business owners who were in tears because everything they worked for was destroyed by asshats.

We need real leaders, not false leaders, of all colors in our communities to truly help people in our poor communities to gain an education in every skill, in trades, not just college, but college too, to break the cycle of poverty, not just allow our poor to be always dependent upon the government. Generation dependence on the government for our every need is the new slavery in America. Also, all of us (all colors) must very vocally demand that our leaders stop the drug cartels and stop the gun running into our cities and the destruction of our people and cities from outside of our country. We all must stop our poisonous "false leaders" that are separating us into races. We must root out and educate all against racism. We must demand our leaders be leaders and create programs of education for our poor, while the government stops the illegal flow of drugs, guns into our fragile cities. And as Martin Luther King did say, we need to judge all men by their character and not by the color of their skin; may God help us all work together for a better life. We need leaders that walk the talk, not just leaders that fill their own pockets and preach hate against the other party. May God help us all and my God Bless us all. Together we will become strong, separated we will become dependent and weak.

@@GApeech08 The difference is that in FL we have legal protections if we run over protestors or shoot looters. The protestors and looters know this. In NYC they knew that they could run in to Macy's and run out with two arms full of stuff and the cops were powerless, whereas in Florida you can get killed over it. Knowing that the law is on our side empowers us to protect the property of our friends and neighbors, and also lets would-be rioters know that monkey business will not be tolerated as it is in blue state shitholes.

I'm happy for Florida to have a governor that cares for his people. I live in Minnesota and Gov. Walz in my opinion dealt with covid pretty well last year. But when it came down to the small business owners fighting to keep their head above water with covid PLUS their store broken into and or burnt down after George Floyd..He would look the other way.

So once they burn down the entire city, where do they expect to get their groceries, their clothes, go to work?

It reminds me of the Brown Shirts. They are drunk on power. I live in the Deep South where you can meet people who directly experienced the days before MLK. We don’t have these issues. Our Black community have high standards and pride. I’m proud to be their friend and neighbor. God bless America.

As a white female thats lived 90% of my 36yrs here in Chicago, i can honestly say ive been harrassed, targeted and discriminated against many, many times. If im driving thru an all black neighborhood i get pulled over bec im thought to beb purchasing drugs. Ill get asked dozens of times a month if i have some spare cash bec 'im privileged' so i have it and i should give it. Ive been robbed twice. Both times were black men .i get ignored in all sorts of stores and restaurants if a black or brown person is standing behind me so they can get served first. Im told that bec im white im a racist. For the people that want to burn down their city, why? That's only setting your community back even more. Is that the change you want, a regressive society taking a step forward to go three steps back? Write/talk to your local mayor, representative, senator etc. It may not be instant change but it's a step in the right direction
