Peach canonically has wish/star powers or as the manual put it white magic. This fact is mentioned here and there in games. One ability she has to is the ability to levitate objects and even herself. Such as when she levitates herself and floats through the air yes she is levitating and it's not the dress, you can still leviate without the dress see Peach in Boomerang Bros outfit. Also, seen in her Mario Tennis 64 victory, and when she flings Bowser out of the castle in Inside Story.

They could have very well made Grape an interesting villain but also self-contained, which has her story end with this game. That way she doesn't affect the other Mario games if they don't want her to. I made a comment with plenty of ideas about how that could work in this comment section. You can look it up if you're interested.

Considering who made the games, they probably have experience with easier games meant for a more casual audience. So I could of expect some Kirby influence to the end there. But can we talk about how Peach's final from in Radiant Peach is NEARLY one to one Rosalina? The long flowing dress, the white and blues, the star bit shapes that is associated with Mario Galaxy, the cosmic level end boss, and her actual radiant nature that fits perfectly. Like, this FEELS like the type of lore that hints at something major behind Peach. Like in The Mario Movie, she might not have come from earth. And in Galaxy, this nearly ties her in as the mother of Rosalina in the story book. Like there is a surprising amount of info to chew on with this ending alone.

Also people tend to forget that despite how big a goofball he can be Bowser is very powerful even without magical assistance. Meanwhile a lot of Peaches powers are usually tied to things like Sparkla. So technically it is still possible for Bowser to kidnap her in the future

i really wanted to enjoy Grape as a villain, we finally ger a possible arch-nemesis to Peach who isn't Bowser! don't get me wrong, just about everything was practically perfect! the design, the personality, the dastardly deeds, the presence throughout, and even the legions of minions and thematically-appropriate bosses for each play type and THEIR personalities! the big misstep i feel is in Grape's motivation at the end, on the merit that her scant screentime made me imagine a slightly more nuanced character than what we ended up getting. i know, this isn't anywhere NEAR the likes of The Last of Us or Final Fantasy 6, it IS a Mario spinoff after all. but given she's dressed like a Victorian socialite or Lady, and how she goes on about "being the biggest star!" and "creating the ULTIMATE tragedy!" led me to believe she would be a more child-friendly interpretation of the villain Drosselmeyer from the anime Princess Tutu. i believed that the story would discuss the debate of "family-friendly stories" and happy endings, versus "mature stories" and stage tragedy plays. the idea that Grape would have being that colorful child-friendly stories are worthless, childish garbage and that dark, soul-crushing tragedies are ultimately superior, the ONLY way to be taken seriously, the ONLY way to get ahead in society as a whole, the ONLY stories and people that truly matter at all. BUT NO. we just get a generic sadist who wants to throw EVERYONE into absolute despair, simply to get her sick kicks. maybe it would be salvageable if she stated something along the lines of "only I, ALONE am allowed to be happy", but that never happens. and hey, maybe that Victorian noble theory has some merit. she appears as a bunch of mist, floats around with disembodied dress, hands, and mask, and said mask is LITERALLY the single thing holding her together, she could be a g-g-g-g-GHOST!!!! yeah, the ghost of a prim, stuffy, arrogant debutante WOULD look down on the more colorful, happy plays, since the other out-of-touch rich snobs would constantly build up the skewed belief that happy endings and general love and kindness is"fleeting", "unrealistic", and doesen't let you climb the hopelessly rigged social ladder of the era. Ah well, maybe i was expecting something with a TEENIER bit more depth from this character. maybe it was just wishful thinking on my part. but how do y'all like my theories?

I feel like that her ghostly appearance has something to do with an accident and an idea. She did mention about wanting the ultimate tragedy in a theater, so she must've pitched a tragic story with a good ending; however, the theater might've declined it due to high demand for tragedy-free acts. Note that economics per business require demand and supply! Because she mentioned her cravings for tragedies, she must've had a grudge against the theater for rejecting her pitch, deciding to take matters into her hands via revenge. When she sought revenge, she must've died in a theater-related operation; since she has a mask and a ghostly body, she must've died when a performance is going on. Because authorities exist, it has to be an accident or a sabotage; faulty works during the performance led to Grape's demise. If it wasn't an accident or Grape was caught, she would be arrested and the game wouldn't exist since she would be alive by the time the princess gets the invitation. And the bosses? They appear to have the same core like Grape. That means we can get the truth behind Grape's past! *LONG AGO,* Grape was a former actress of Sparkle Theater; she was creative with her work and acting that the theater allowed her to create an act Sparkle Theater won't forget. However, she wanted to make it unique, pitching a tragedy and displaying her props; her project took months to become the final draft, awaiting for approval. Unfortunately, the theater decided to reject the pitch because of high demands for various acts. Unhappy with her hard work being rejected, she tried again... then again... *AND AGAIN!!!* Sadly, her attempts failed, and she snapped. With her mind broken from constant rejection, she sought for revenge, increasing her desires to get her project greenlit. During a performance, there was an "accident" during performance; in truth, however, Grape attempted to sabotage the performance, making sure the technics can injure/stun the workers. It's unknown how an accident killed her, but her malicious desire for a tragic act manifested into what we know in the game. As a spirit, she used pieces of her soul to create the Sour Bunch and her commanders; however, she kept a piece of her soul to herself and rested in a mask she created. With an army ready, she unleashed her raid until her defeat. However, it's just a theory... *A GAME THEORY*

Why is the game so similar to kirby? Pink Main Character✅️ Transformations that Give the Abilities of Other Beings✅️ Sudden Shooter Section at the End of the Game✅️ Unexpected Demonic Horror as Final Phase of Muilti-Phase Final Boss✅️ Final Boss is at its Core A Gaint Black-Hole Like Glowing Ball✅️

This game was so much fun I loved every second of it.

For Peaches final smash,she wields a GUN.

Now if only they'll make Mario do cool stuff like THIS! The closes we got was Mario Odyssey's final boss ending, but nowhere near this calibur of an epic scale showing off pure power. It's always a gimmick of some sort.

That Madame character gave me majora’s mask vibes. And peach's transformation I thought I could hear a little bit of a wonderful world of Disney intro.

8:00 when you look at the particles Madam Grape leaves behind, it kinda looks like the symbol of the big ennemy in Mario + rabbids : Sparks of hope. The colors look the same too. I thought about that when peach opens the door to the final boss in Rosalina style. In sparks of hope, The final boss and Rosalina are linked too. Theory time ?

The only spikes and drops of performance that I saw with the game were with the loading screens. Those were painful in some cases to watch as they stuttered with the loading screens and even twice froze apparently completely on my switch for 3 seconds. Hopefully a future update to the game will fix that issue.

Man im scared, i really want Grape to return for future games and become a main stay, kinda like Bowser for Mario or King Boo for Luigi... I want her to join spinoffs as a whole too, but im scared she wont because of the ending... I need to see more of her

I say the second part of Grape is kinda similar to Kackletta's spirit from Superstar Saga. And Radiant Peach kinda takes us back to the "Who is Rosalina's mother?" theory. In her storybook her mom kinda looks like Peach.

Good-Feel should work on the sequel for this game.

I had a theory that she was a dark equivalent of Stella's species, looking basically the same but with dark blue and purple colors, and hiding behind the mask and cravat. After all, the game itself says her power, Darkle, is basically a foil to Stella's power of Sparkle. It could have been an interesting twist we'd find out about at the end, after she's defeated. But I was wrong (which is a shame because that would have been really cool).

I'm not sure if the ending was _that_ crazy. But given that your first encounter with an enemy are lil' purple guys slowly hopping at you, it was definitely an unexpectedly bombastic ending. It was a really good game. I want to see more of the Showtime formula, because there was a lot of setpieces and gameplay loops I'd play again. _(and if they could get that framerate right, I'd feel a whole lot better about paying $60 for it.)_

That ending looks incredible!! As a big Kirby guy, I'll have to get this game at some point!

A little part of me wants Madame Grape to return but in a “more powerful” way. But the big part of me wants to see Madame Grapes mask appear as a wall decoration in upcoming Mario-like games.

Honestly Grape's final form reminds me more of Majora's Mask than Kirby

So I saw Grape's "soul" thing as being just a bigger version of the orb we purified on the other bosses (Purrjector Cat, etc). Whether that was a soul, hard to say. I was really happy with this game though. Was hoping that this game would lay the groundwork for future Peach-centric titles, and it certainly did!

HOLY CRAP that ending looks amazing

Yeah the music is stupidly insane. Kudos to the music composer and arranger.

I'm pretty disappointed in Madame Grape because she has no motive, when her design alone seemed to imply something about her, something that could be tied to her motive, but in the end it just meant nothing. If you look at her design, her dress, hair and hat seem to be add-ons, separated from the mask and cravat, as if the real her is located behind that mask and cravat, and the rest are just accessories. And that's when a thought crossed my mind. What if, behind that mask and cravat, a member of Stella's species is hiding ? The shape fits pretty well. What if that's Grape's true self, but hiding behind that mask and these clothes to appear bigger and more menacing ? After all, Madame Grape has the power of Darkle, as stated by the game, which is in obvious opposition to the power of Sparkle, the power Stella has. So Madame Grape could be a dark equivalent to Stella's species (that I'll call Sparkles), who rejected her. Maybe she was rejected by them for her ideas of big tragedies, and then stumbled upon the power that made her a Dark Sparkle (I'll call her a Darkle). Or maybe she was always a Darkle, and because of her difference compared to all the other Sparkles AND her ideas of tragedies, she was rejected. But either way, her motive for attacking the Sparkle Theater would be the same : Revenge for getting rejected and ejected by the Sparkles and actors. And once she took control of the theater, she would create the tragedies they refused to let her create, with them as the protagonists of these tragedies, as a cruel vengance on them for shunning her. But at the end of the second phase, her real form (similar to Stella but with dark blue and purple colors) and backstory would be revealed, leading Peach and Stella to empathize with her and give her a place in the theater. Instead of Peach rebuilding it immediatly, we could have Grape show her redemption by helping to rebuild it during the credits scene and the people of the theater accepting her. Her being a Darkle is an interesting plot twist for the end, one that fits with her design since as I said, she could easily be hiding behind the mask and cravat and magically move them around, as well as the hat, the hair, the dress and the hands. All that while hiding her true self. And that plot twist easily comes with this interesting motive for her, which instantly makes her a far more deep and interesting character. It's nothing groundbreaking when it comes to character, but hey it's not nothing like in the actual game. Also it's the Mario franchise, most of its characters are simple but they work well. And simplicity doesn't mean nothing (which is what Madame Grape's motive is. Nothing). Well I'm saying that, but this can easily made deeper while keeping the same idea. Like, what if in this scenario, Grape was rejected a long, long time ago ? The people that she's mad at are all long gone, but she's still there because of her everlasting need for revenge that prevents her from leaving this world. And because of that, she enacts her revenge upon people who aren't to blame for what happened to her. She's stuck in the past and can't move on so, blinded by anger, she hurts these people who didn't do anything to her just because they're in the same roles as the ones who hurt her so long ago. She would do it as a revenge against what the ones who hurt her represented, but not actually them since they're gone, and she can't enact revenge on them, but she's still angry and still wants revenge. So she hurts their successors, the current Sparkla, and that's the reason why she kidnaps them specifically. She would see it as a just way to make their predecessors pay indirectly, she doesn't care about the Sparkla themselves, only what they represent in her eyes, aka. the ones who rejected her. That would make her a very interesting villain. But whether you like this deeper story or the more simple one where she isn't an ancient being and she does take revenge on the people who hurt her but forgives them and gets forgiven at the end, she would still be a good villain. And that backstory and motive would also help show Peach's morals, her kindness and willingness to forgive, as she would support Grape and allow her to redeem herself, as well as being accepted as part of the theater once again at the end. In the deeper version, the Sparkla could all come to apologize on behalf of their predecessors at the end and, even if they can't fix what has been done, they propose to try and start over together, to move on from the past. To which Grape accepts, as this finally makes her see the Sparkla as their own people, not just as a way to get back at people who aren't even in this world anymore. She's ready to move on. It could be a really interesting story with a theme of not letting the past dictate who you are, which could also work with Peach since in the past she was always in the back getting kidnapped without being able to do anything about it, but here she decides to not let that dictate what she can and can't do and to fight. Of course, it's Good Feel, I wouldn't expect them to write such a good character, that's why I mentioned this simpler version of her revenge motive but that's still effective. But no, in the actual game, there's nothing hiding behind Madame Grape's design, there's no deeper backstory and motive, and she just dies at the end. Also I don't understand why the people in the plays keep acting as if the plays' worlds are real, even when they're in very real danger from the Sour Bunch's attack. This makes no sense. Also the Sour Bunch fits as a name considering the motive I thought of for Grape. She's sour and resentful.

I agree completely. I know Mario games lore doesn't tend to be that deep unless it's Mario Galaxy or not a main line game but I think they definitely dropped the ball a little with Grape. Hopefully they make a sequel eventually and she gets a backstory in the next game

@@redram6080 Yeah but even if she does come back, I doubt they will do anything great with her. Unless I or somebody else with great ideas becomes a writer for Nintendo before the next game starts being worked on, but I doubt that'll happen.

@@Oceane1803 I don't think all hope is completely lost. After all Mario Galaxy exists and Rosalina's backstory is pretty decent. But yeah I'll admit that Grape most likely won't get fleshed out by much. The best we can hope for is that she gets at least the bare minimum.

@@Oceane1803 I completely agree. Honestly I think your backstory is so much better than anything they are willing to put in the games and yeah it's pretty disappointing ngl. They went a long time with the same boring format for the 2D Mario games with no innovations in sight and then eventually Mario Wonder happened. So hopefully in the future they can start innovating more with better lore. We'll see.

Hehehe, it seems like this Game was full of surprises, just goes to show that difficulty isn’t entirely necessary for a Game to be fun. Hm, i wonder what that Mask was implying, i hope we’ll find out.

Than this might become Canon to the mario games

It does feel a lot like a Kirby game ending, but this is hardly the darkest thing ever seen in a Mario game, especially in the spin-offs. So i'm not sure why you're surprised

Princess can fly in the final Boss because that 10 character she saved give her power to help to fight the final boss so she have the power can make her fly.

The fact that peach got a super form and a power boost before Mario is wild 😭

It took me 3 days to beat the game. Not for any major difficulty of it's own just that I had other games to play and things to do besides just sit down and blast through the game. I'll say for a simple...we are talking KIRBY levels of simple here...gameplay set up and basically two button gameplay...I wouldn't mind seeing a sequel with more transformations and maybe some more advanced moves from the OG 10 transformations like how Kirby's transformations have gotten more than just a one button attack. First playthrough I got all the Sparkle Gems from every stage...now I gotta go through and do the boss gems since beating the game means you can fight the floor bosses at will but with special conditions to get Sparkle Gems from them. Also need to finish all the Rehearsals too, and find the ninja apprentice in each stage. There is some replay value in the game to do all that, but overall it's a good game imo, and I wouldn't mind a sequel.

Good game completed it in 2 sittings , just needed more depth more combos and more harder levels , but a good starting point for sequels or ninja peach , cowgirl 🤠 peach , kungfu peach and radiant peach reminded me of star fox with the movements and shooting power

I got this game on Saturday and starter playing and finishing it on Sunday.

It’s a quick fun game

I loved this game but I was a little upset that it went by so quick for me 😭

The game is definitely very Kirby-ish (a Kirby-like? :P ) in terms of tone, cuteness, difficulty, power-ups and eldritch horror final bosses. I really like the Rosalina-esk final power-up, I've always liked Rosalina the best of the 3 princesses. Overall I had a fun time with this game, I'd recommend it if you aren't a snob about difficulty, or cuteness and this is coming from someone who loves Bloodborne.

I was half expecting a post credit scene showing Bowser find Grape by showing his shadow get cast over Grape’s mask floating in the water, then cutting to black with him laughing.
