Ойын-сауық

We got Europeans from Italy, Spain, France, Greece and Portugal to do a challenge and show how much they really know about each other (and what they think!). Which people from Southern Europe are the sexiest? What Southern European country is the loudest? Which has the best cuisine?

    Not all. I was in Southern Italy and Milan once. They can also be arrogant and cold. There are nice and bad people in every country. Just the negative aspects of alcohol are not as visible, because they tend to drink at home (but that does not count for Italian hooligans from the north). In contrary, Northern Europeans drink where ever they want and thus can act more aggressively (in the night).

    João Português Lisbon is the most beautiful city in the world, and Portugal is one of the most beautiful countries in the world. ❤️ The city of Porto is very old and romantic city. The Portuguese should be proud of the beauty of their country. They have a beautiful nature, climate, architecture, cuisine, music (fado) ... Only people without souls don't like fado. Lisbon has a soul, and its name is ‘fado’. Fado was recognised by UNESCO in 2011 as an ‘intangible cultural heritage’. Lisbon, Portugal’s capital city, is the heartbeat of the country. It’s also one of the oldest cities in the world, predating even Rome. Lisbon is a city of old souls who value tradition, art, and creativity and are putting those facets of life to use in modern ways. The Portuguese people are some of the kindest I’ve come across in my travels. They are one of the best nations in the world, they are very polite and friendly open to foreigners. People with the beautiful hearts and souls. For me, the Portuguese language is the most beautiful language. I speak several languages including Portuguese, Spanish, French, English, German, and Croatian, my native language. Languages are my passion. European Portuguese and Slavic languages have the same phonetics. In Portugal, Russian speaking people learn the language quite easily. English speaking people don't use many of the sounds used in Portuguese, so they have a bit more difficulty. European Portuguese is sexy as fuck, it's a perversion for my ears. 😊 Spanish author Miguel de Cervantes once called Portuguese "the sweet and gracious language" and Spanish playwright Lope de Vega referred to it as "sweet", while the Brazilian writer Olavo Bilac poetically described it as "a última flor do Lácio, inculta e bela" (the last flower of Latium, rustic and beautiful). Portuguese is also termed "the language of Camões", after one of the greatest literary figures in the Portuguese language, Luís Vaz de Camões. Olavo Bilac once said "a Pátria não é a raça, o meio, o conjunto dos aparelhos económicos e políticos, é o idioma herdado ou criado por um povo". Fernando Pessoa wrote in Lisbon "a minha Pátria é a Língua Portuguesa". Saudações da Croácia. 😘

    @manuelmanzanero5057

    2 жыл бұрын

    @@nezahuall To say that Spaniards, or some Spaniards, feel superior to you (I assume that you mean the Portuguese), is a purely psychological and subjective assessment. It is as arbitrary as inverting the terms and saying that it is the Portuguese or some Portuguese who feel inferior to the Spaniards and who project on them the arrogance or security that they lack. But superiority or inferiority are complexes of individuals, not of human groups or countries. When you say that some Spaniards feel superior, in what sense do you mean it? They think they are taller, smarter, more handsome, more successful? Or is it simply an assumption that you abstract from the fact that you consider them "loud" or unwilling to learn the language? But no: the reality is that beautiful and ugly people, tall and short, successful and unsuccessful, there are in all countries, cities and streets. Success, height, intelligence, do not define some countries against others. The issue of the bad behavior of the Spanish tourists continues to cause me some amazement. Portugal is visited every year by thousands of Spaniards: it is not uncommon to find them in all cities, and it is easy to hear them (because of their high number, not because they make a particular noise). I myself have a part of my family living near Lisbon (Cascais). My impression is not of bad behavior, but my impression is subjective and I do not deny that there might be some cases. However, according to statistics, the British appear year after year at the top of the countries with the worst performing tourists. This is evident in Spain: but it is also evident in the rest of the countries of the Mediterranean basin, especially those most focused on beach tourism. In Portugal, is the behavior of the British used to construct a general judgment about the United Kingdom and its inhabitants? Of course not, and it would be unfair and arbitrary to do so. But nevertheless, it is used to reach general conclusions about the Spanish. And what about the effort for the language? Do you ask the Britons to make the effort to learn your language? Of course not: we speak English to them, and we consider ourselves modern and cosmopolitan countries for doing so (and it's difficult not to remember here the issue of the inferiority complex). So I am afraid that the history behind some Portuguese with Spain has little to do with noise, superiority and bad behavior of tourists: in the same way, if all those things are not reproached to the Brits it also has little to do with their objective behavior, but with a series of prejudices and sympathies / antipathies related to the history of the last centuries and the way in which it has been institutionalized in schools and in the environmental ideology of our different countries. The UK (I mean its monarchy and its academic elites) has always been a first class country at justifying its actions in front of the world and demonizing the actions of others. But that's another matter. Greetings.

AMAZING food, I cannot stop eating, amazing cities, amazing people, amazing history. Lucky to be friend and work with portuguese and Italians and learn from them. The connection is real. I also love the north and germanic countries, the Slavic, Balkan, but travelling to the South is special.

    I'm portuguese and in 2010 my highschool linked with a greek highschool to have this student exchange for the first time. There were very few slots for the portuguese students to go visit Thessaloniki for a whole week and experience the school environment there so, I couldn't miss the chance. I was one of the picked students and I have to say that greek people blew my mind on how kind, great hosts and funny they are. As soon as our group of students landed in the airport, all the greek students hosting us came running and hugging us, we were overwhelmed with joy. My girl was called Maria and she and her best friend Giota were the funniest girls ever. It was an instant friendship. We arrived home late in the evening and ate a whole spanakopita together. I immediately felt like i was home, her familly welcomed me like i was family. Funny to see the greek girls in this video saying that spanish sounds like greek because from my experience during that week, all the greek students told me the same but also recognized that portuguese sounded "familiar" even if they couldn't understand a one word we were saying 😅 and we also agreed that greek had that "familiar" sound or languistic manneirisms that we could mistake for portuguese at first, but then we couldn't decipher the words upon a closer listening. It's crazy to say this but it honestly felt like both languages were distant relatives with the same "base" or roots but that evolved in a very different sense through the centuries. And i guess that is somewhat true. When we handed our greek pals some portuguese texts for them to try and read, they did it perfectly! And the other way around also happened, according to them. The only thing was that none of us knew what we were saying, but the pronunciation was there. I loved the experience, the people, the food and I just feel like Greece has this "hugging", home feel to you, just like Portugal would have. It's a southern european thing I guess 💕

A few years ago, for some reason, I developed an interest in the Celtic history of Portugal to the point of actually visiting Galiza/Galicia and seeing some of their historic Celtic sites. I also learnt an Irish legend of a “Míl Espáine”, son of a Galician Celtic chieftain called “Breogan”, who left Galicia and landed in the shores of Ireland, establishing Ireland’s last peoples, the Milesians. Would be fascinating if there was actually some truth to the legend!

    It's actually interesting. Our language (Greek) is phonologically identical to Iberian Spanish. Our letters have the same sounds, the main differences are that Spanish will more frequently have a longer rolled r than Greek (though this can differ based on accent) and vowel lengths can differ between the languages. When we hear each other speak it kind of just sounds like you should understand what they're saying but it comes out as gibberish haha.

    Because in all honesty it does. It's not just them, the two languages are theoretically almost as distant as they get, only being connected within the Indo European language family. However, the large number of Greek words that entered Spanish combined with similar phonetics and similar sounding endings eg Spanish -os means masculine plural, Greek -ος/os means 2nd declention masculine singular, Spanish -as means feminine plural, Greek -ας/as means 1st declention masculine singular or (1st declention) feminine singular genitive. As you can see, the same sounds in the same places are common, but signify different things.

    Lisbon is the most beautiful city in the world, and Portugal is one of the most beautiful countries in the world. 😘

    I am Portuguese, I have a Spanish great-grandma, I had two Italian girlfriends and I had one French guy, one Spanish guy and two Greek girls for housemates in London, so I can relate perfectly to all of this!!! Especially the Euro 2004 thing, well revenged by the Euro 2016 haha Well done Marina, as always!

    @@TF-km2ls amazing language is only France. But more amazing language is the ancient Greek with the correct pronunciation. Ancient Greeks had a completely different accent from the one we have today's Greeks. Type Podium-Arts Aristotle and watch the video (11 minutes) to hear what ancient Greek was like (a Greek speak in the video). Ancient Greek language is very better than modern greek

    @awfulguitarplucker I recommend you to see the documentary "The Swedish theory of love", it talks about the lonely lives they have in Sweden (but applies to the other Nordic countries as well). There is nothing to be ashamed of talking loud during dinner, it is part of being a human. Greetings from Mexico

    @awfulguitarplucker What's the alternative? Gobbling your food from your lap as we do in the UK? Often while watching tv. Dinner from a table is a luxury at Christmas or seen in more discerning households that have the occasional dinner party. Please never change.
