This was so thorough but also a really good length. I'm always so pleased by how you capture each type without stereotyping too strongly. I'm a self pres 7 and most of the 7 content out there seems to be about the over the top, energetic 7s - but you manage to make me feel included when you describe 7s!

as a 4 i can describe the two sides of my personality in two types of movies: a indie noir black and white movie with low budget and a symple script that consists in two actors walking and discussing the subtleties of life; and a megalomaniac upbeat and colorful hollywood musical with an original soundtrack and many dance numbers with a stratospheric budget exalting the beauty of cinema.

I initially took a test because I was bored like 10 years ago. None of the top 3 results were me, so I was all, "This is crap," and moved on. I came back to it because my counselor suggested it, tested again, still didn't resonate with the top 3 results. It wasn't until I watched videos and learned more about ALL types that I was able to figure our where I fit in there. Tests can be helpful, but they can also get it TOTALLY wrong.

I am in tears here. Your story is so similar to mine it is absolutely astounding. I have been a theatre kid since I was 4 years old and Broadway has been the goal for as long as I can remember. My dad passed away when I was 11 years old so I have always felt that if I didn't "make it" that he would be disappointed in me and I (still) so desperately want to make him proud (even though the logical side of my brain knows he would have loved me no matter what) I have felt so terribly lost lately because I have been fighting with myself about giving up the theatre thing (the pandemic was a rude awakening as far as the theatre dreams go) and I just can't believe how called out I feel right now. Thank you for sharing these free resources and for making people feel seen ❤

Abbey, As a relative newcomer to the Enneagram within the last year, I can honestly say that this is the best overall presentation I've seen. I'm a 1, but I think that for some weird reason God put a lot of the 5 in me as well. I love to read and research. I actually chose to do a two year long research thesis instead of taking 6 hours to complete my master's degree because I thought it would be fun. Not my wisest choice. So I have read a lot, and watched your videos, Leanne & Michelle's vidoes, several psychologist, and Christian educators regarding this topic. I just found this video tonight, and I love it. If you have time, I do have a question. Inside I have always wanted to be like a 7. Even before I knew about the Enneagram, I sometimes just wanted to do something completely spontaneous and outrageous. For example, just go to NYC for the weekend without planning anything ahead of time!!! 😲🌆 But I always reign myself in with logic. Then I noticed that at the beginning of your video, there is a diagram with a blue line going from the 1 to the 7. What does that mean?

  • @leogrrrl5876

    @leogrrrl5876

You may have both 1 & 5 in your tritype. 1 would be your gut type & 5 your head type. So to get a more complete picture of who you are you would just need to add/figure out your heart type. There is a line connecting 1 to 7, & there is also one connecting 5 to 7. The first is considered the path of growth; the second the path of stress. But keep in mind that although this is a very common concept in the Enneagram, it is disputed by Katherine Chernick Fauvre that says it was an idea that was tested out, discarded, but still widely spread. Instead, she & others believe that their is use to any of the connecting numbers. So connecting to 7 could be very freeing for you. It could also have some downsides too, but then just pull on your other numbers for strength. 1 & 5 will keep you practical & not too impulsive. But 7 will help bring the fun! 🙂

I recently ran across enneagrams. I tested as a 5, wing 4. That seems to suit me well enough, but when you described ones, the quest for personal honor is one of my prime motivators. Then, describing eights, fighting for justice is also a trait that is important to me. I realize that no one number describes a person, so I'll look into this more. My sister is a definite two though.

Just one request (if you have no pending videos or what). Can you make 'Healthy and Unhealthy Type (No.)'? The first reason I requested it is because I want to know how each type reacts in a complete opposite way. I wanna see how unhealthy one is different from healthy one, etc. The second reason is I am writing a book. I wanna rely my characters to each type since I find it hard to craft compelling characters. Btw, I am a 4w5 so... you know! I am waiting for the 4w3 and 4w5 video! Thank you so much! Nine and four both really sound like me... The type four things I relate to are finding beauty in things (when I was little my parents used to always say that I was good at that), wanting to leave an impact on the world, wanting to stay true to myself, not wanting to be flawed, being a hopeless romantic, and wanting to be better than I am. The type nine things I relate to are wanting to have peace of mind, seeing different sides of the story, being indecisive, losing my drive, hating conflict (the only people I argue with are those I'm really comfortable with, but that's often only when I've just had enough and snap. I hate myself afterwards), wanting to matter, and I've always been a huge dreamer. I also definitely see myself in both triads. When something goes wrong or upsets me, I instinctively just want to DO something. But I also really want to do things based on my feelings and the feelings of those around me. Any tips of how to decide?

Hey what MBTI are you? There’s this website called personality-database that’s focused on trying to type random people, and there’s one with you on a poll where people are debating whether you’re INFJ or ENFJ.

This was great thanks so much for sharing I have just started this crazy world of enniagrams I learning a bunch and can see myself digging in to learn about me my wife and kids ….. It almost feels a little bit like asking people how much is their salary when asking what are their types. I’m a 9 maybe that’s a feeling of getting controversial????

Fours do NOT envy your home, car, or anything so petty. We envy your comfort in the world, your ability to walk so freely, to love so clearly, to worry so little.

You are so sweet, it is hard to imagine you are the same type as my ex husband who was actually a diagnosed sociopath! Let's just say he was fully into the deceit and needing to win aspects of the type! In all seriousness, I am curious how personality disorders impact all of this, or if they skew it completely.

At what point are kids old enough to apply the enneagram? I'm pretty sure my 12 year old is a 4, but I also know that she will continue to "find herself " in the coming years. Will the enneagram type change?

  • @zakariaelidrissi3001

I read about each enneagram type, but the problem that each type has something to do with myself. I was reading about the reformer, and i find that, i myself live in a quest for the best version of myself to the point that i get detached from the reality and draw ideations of myself, still there are some points where i am not a 1. Same thing with 3, where i highly evaluate myself as a competitif persona, hence i run after success a things that would make me socially admirable, and that was shaped becuz of that my parents always had this vision where i am the "one" and not to mention my ex girl high tendencies toward material success and which made me on this path of proving to her the misfortune she made when breaking up with such a sigma lol. 4 and the rest are the same deal, and even while tryin to apply this knowledge on people i find out that each has moments where he experiences a certain type, with that being said i am the enneagram 123456789 (just wanted to do it hahahah)

Hey, I am writing this hoping to get some help about my Enneagram because I cannot understand it. I took the test and my highest scores were 8 for 98 points, 5 for 96 points and 1 for 91 points. Apparently it gives me a weird shape thus I cannot understand my Enneagram.

I’m a 9 and I rarely ever use my 8, actually I don’t think I’ve ever used it in my life HAHAHA. I’m probably a 9w1 because my thoughts are more like “I should do what I ought to” but I’m not necessarily responsible, hehe. But I think I’m pretty well behaved socially.

Good video ,but enneagram largely starts with Gurdjieff. However, our modern version of it is not found in his work. I suspect the modern enneagram system is more recent than you think. And usually people who teach it are business people and not psychologists and philosophers, which often muddies the waters even further but there is no way in which this problem can be corrected largely because there is nothing to be saved and so there is only innovation. The only way forward is to have philosophers and psychologists take it seriously, and even innovate it. Im a type 5 btw

I relate a lot to 1's, 4's, 5's and 9's but I'm too uncertain to settle down for either one... I'm too open-minded and either see why I couldn't be *this*, or how I'm simply being delusional and only wish to be *that*. I don't really have a clear self-image so it's very difficult trying to type myself directly.

Weird. I think I relate with kinda1, kinda3, 4, 6 and 9 So probably 9w1 or 4w3. But of course I can't say from one video. Used to think I was 6, but I couldn't relate to 5 or 7 at all so that would mean I'd have no wing.
