17:57 for those who want to know the big news asap. Believe it or not this it's been eight months since the last Italian video, that being Pizza Time. I do like their focus tree it's just I haven't found too much I want to do with them. Like I did plan to do a Not Today video when we thought the achievement was glitched but that got cleared up quickly, this doesn't mean there aren't more Italy videos coming, it's just I'm searching a little more.

I myself got to admire and love the italian focus tree due to focus.nochecks and FA, but even without those 2 i still like how there is a lost of useless advisors, BoP features and even focuses due to just how cheesable and fun is italy with a human behind the scene (editor-silent workhorse-renato ricci in advisors, ignoring BoP decisions, creating like 18 puppets without going to war, cucking anchluss using italian irredentism and manual justifications, etc....)

@@aidenbooksmith2351 No the man speaks the truth, doing the Catholic Dominion in the Papal Tree unlocks forming Rome so the double formable is possible.

I find it weird how there's a Mussolini specific focus under the Greater Italy branch as opposed to the Mare Nostrum branch. It was Mussolini who pushed Roman aesthetics and greatness which upset some other fascists, especially the futurists in Italy.

Mussolini did push the Roman aesthetic route but from what I’ve read about the man there was no serious desire to reform the Roman Empire. That’s just pure meme content.

If you don't have dlc's, then you can't form mare nostrum. In that circumstance Greater Italy is good

The update that came with BBA did actually update the Italian focus tree, so you can go greater Italy or mare nostrum with no dlcs.

@@blazingfish8486 I don't have the BBA DLC but I have all the other ones and I can just form grater Italy whenever I want, could be some mods I always play with that make that a bug but it's always there for me when I check it

1. You can form Greater Italy in a somewhat historical game, Mare Nostrum is obviously very althist. 2. The 'detriment' of not getting all the cores with Mare Nostrum also means you dont need all the countries to form the Roman Empire (like Portugal), and you can split some with a pontential ally in MP

you don’t need portugal for the Roman Empire. You only need to have control of every province bordering the mediterranean sea.

If the new DLC comes, I got the feeling that you will continue this little series. Ideas like, "What's the point of the Nordic Defence Council?" or "What's the point of communist Finland?". It really answers the unknown or underrated of the focus tree and the ups and downs of each of them, and I like it. Anyways, great video. 👍

I always thought Neo-Rome should be the "Italy First" one and puts you in conflict with Germany, and Greater Italy should be the Axis one that avoids conflict with Germany.

I always do this path, it's more historically functional + it's good for rp

A good video, and a nice way to end the season with one that feels like there could be some point. Granted I've not played HOI IV since 2021 but you make the videos interesting and that's good.

I love how the flavor text for the Dino Grandi focus has "We need a guy who is diplomatically savvy" then the new guy declares war on France a few months later

This is a similar strat to what I use, except I like to first invade Portugal, then Netherlands before fighting France. This allows me to apply Italy's compliance bonuses to the East Indies and Macau, allowing for a Italian China fun!

I usually form Roman Empire for those cores, but if I wanted to do a more realistic roleplay, then Greater Italy it is. What I admire about it is the nice attack bonuses you can gain from going down its focus path.

it was a good series, but everything at some point must be given the goodbye... i have one question tho, will the *focus tree ranked* series still be on?

I personally love doing Italian Empire and Hegemony as Dino!

You forgot to mention the fact that as you go down the greater Italy path, you get a huge boost to non-core manpower, as well as some other things I believe. So as you are conquering foreign lands, you get a huge boost to manpower.

Your calculations are wrong, you aren't even considering extra pp gain from stab, also the silent workhorse pays itself in 500 days, quote from Hoi4 forums. "Let's assume I have a base of 2 PP per da, that makes 2*365 = 730 PP per year. With a Workhorse, I'm getting 2*1,15*365 = 839,5 PP per Year. So basically, I'm getting ~110 PP per year more, if my base is 2 PP per day. When I have like 1 PP per Day, I get an additional 55 PP per year out of the workhorse. So in fact, after roughly 1,5 years, the workhorse payed of and is actually producing extra PP." - Arandur87 Now was it worth it in the timeframe I played in? debatably, but that's your call.

personally I like the workhorse. but only if you get them early, like first or second immediately after army xp, or mil production. it depends tho some countries have horrible starting templates, others are useable and can be changed later. im not a gamey or super nerd meta player tho. I just build 2 inf divisions, 1 armor, one mobile, and possibly a sf. and dont every use a calculator to min max shit.

Compliance gain itself was nerfed in bba, it goes up slower and thus the civilian oversight meta died since resistance would go too high.

Doesn't Spain remain neutral regardless the only time they never stay neutral is A there in a faction axis, allies or the novus something something one, B there anarchist, democratic they do weird things C iberia union when Spain invades Portugal and takes all there stuff. Regardless of what people think it sorts itself out nationalists win they don't kill you, communists win they may join Comintern ect that's why Switzerland becomes a fortress during the war
