I recently bought my first camera for sports videography (a6400) based on some of your videos to film my son’s soccer games. I definitely have a lot to learn so I really appreciate all this info.

  • @BeyondTheGame_E

    @BeyondTheGame_E

    Autofocus is also heavily depending on the lens. If it’s going in and out, it’s either because there’s too many people in your shot and the camera doesn’t know who to focus on, or your lens is just not that good. Either way, try pushing up the F-stop number to make your depth of field wider, or use manual focus instead.

    I love our videos, I highly recommend . I have a question, my son plays baseball (outdoors), I looking to capture some amazing video shots of him hitting and pitching . • @BeyondTheGame_E

    @BeyondTheGame_E

    9 ай бұрын

    To reduce the motion blur in the photos, you need to turn up the shutter speed real high. At least 1/1000 but maybe even more for a baseball at full speed. For video, use the same settings as this basketball video but use a variable ND filter to control the brightness if you're filming in broad daylight kzread.info/dash/bejne/hoOpsdWlnZjQlbw.htmlsi=Iz2p44hXLQ4GulVT

    So, owning a A7 IV, our 120fps footage can only be 1080p 8 bit. I understand you would recommend cine-2 over s-log?

  • @BeyondTheGame_E

    @BeyondTheGame_E

    Not necessarily one over the other systematically. If the conditions allow you to expose properly, S-LOG2 would be my go to because it has more dynamic range and you can grade it exactly how you want it. But if lighting is not great and it's affecting your ability to always be properly exposed, I would probably go with Cine2.

    Stupid Question, but Can your Luts package be loaded into the Sony Fx30 settings ?

  • @BeyondTheGame_E

    @BeyondTheGame_E

    9 ай бұрын

    Technically yes you can but that's not what they are for though. The LUTs you use in camera are conversion LUTs. The type of LUT that takes S-LOG2 or S-LOG3 footage and brings it back to a REC709 look full of contrast and saturation. Importing those in camera allows you to see, as you're filming, what your LOG footage will look like with the conversion LUT added. My LUTs are creative LUTs. You add them at the end of your editing process to give you video a style or look that you like. And more importantly, in camera they would appear at 100% intensity but I wouldn't recommend using any of them at more than 50% intensity. I usually stay around the 20-40% mark personally.
