    There are many ways to help absorption. One of the best ways to increase vitamin c into the body is by utilizing a liposomal delivery method. This can increase your vit c intake by 5 times.

    Hello Dr Lam, thank you for a very informative video. From what I understood is that taking 500 or 1000 mg is okay as long as your body can tolerate it. But do you think that taking 250 mg of vitamin c 4 times a day is better than 1 time with 1000mg? Since the body wont be able to absorb that 1000mg amount and most of it will get eliminate by the body anyways. I wonder if you would recommend us to take low dosage but more frequent per day or taking slow releasing vitamin C instead of 1000mg daily or twice per day. Thank you in advance and sorry if my english is not very clear ;)

  • @drlam

    @drlam

    Some people can even tolerate even up to 10,000 mg, so it's not really just about the 1000mg. You have to try to take as much as your body can tolerate. Some can only tolerate 250mg, some 1000mg, and other 10,000mg. So it's important to know your tolerance level by challenging your body, but only do so with someone experienced.

    If you're used to taking vitamin C and it doesn't cause you to be too hyped, then you can take that dose of vitamin C without issue. However, if you're a sensitive person, then sometimes even that dose can be too much. It just depends on your body. Some can even tolerate more than that.

    Danny Poetry Dude check your thyroid. You could have autoimmune disease or a thyroid problem. Drink 3 to 4 liters of water before 6 pm daily. Water is known to make you look younger by being hydrated. Stop eating sugar. It does screws up your bodies ability to process nutrients correctly. Drink milk or water. If you needs sweets, use stevia. It's very healthy. KFactor Honey above +10 is very healthy for the body. Add it to your water. Drink it hot in a tea to help kill covud in the sinuses.

    Thx Dr. lam. I've been taking 1000mg per day liposomale vitamine C for over 4 years now with good results, but with the last blood controle my Ferritin was a little bit too high (for the first time -- Iron was perfect) The blood samples were taking just after I had corona....(during corona I took every 2 hours 1000mg during the day for a few days) Could the high Ferritine have something to do with he consumption of vitamine C ?

  • @drlam

    theoretically vit C helps iron absorption, but ferritin is an acute phase reactant, and can go up and down based on what your body is going through on that day you drew the blood. For example covid.

    It is so sad that humans lost the ability long ago to make their own vitamin c inside their body. But I wonder, how long before we can fix that genetic defect so that humans can start producing their own vitamin c again?

  • @drlam

    it's important to maintain an adequate intake of vitamin C through dietary sources such as fruits and vegetables or through supplementation. Vitamin C plays a crucial role in various physiological processes and has numerous health benefits. So while we may have lost the ability to produce it ourselves, we can still ensure we meet our daily requirements through external sources.

    You won't have kidney damage if you use the buffered vitamin c. Of course not the ascorbic acid form because it's too acidic it may cause stomach discomfort. What Linus Pauling and his team used is a buffered vitamin c called sodium ascorbate. Even if you take 100-200g a day of this you won't have any problem with your kidney. Thank you.

    @@knightshade6232 I think yes it could cause problem. Calcium ascorbate is not good for overdosing. That's why you should use the right buffered vitamin c which is sodium ascorbate that linus pauling used on the treatment of his cancer patients. A stage 4 cancer patient should take 50-100g a day with interval and will be cured within a week or two. But your concern is cold only, you can take up to 5g or 10g a day with interval of sodium ascorbate and will cause no harm in your kidney at all.

    I do not believe in taking high vitamin C preventative doses. Vitamin C is first and foremost a vitamin that is a co-factor in more than 15 enzyme reactions, and does not require large amounts of vitamin C to function. But when you get sick, vitamin C also acts as the body's most important antioxidant, consumed and excreted in the urine as the end product dehydro-ascorbic acid. In critical illness, oxidation and inflammation are massive, which requires large amounts of vitamin C
