Natalie's voice is amazing, and she's such a great performer. I saw 10,000 Maniacs live at The Mann outdoor pavilion in Philadelphia in 1993 and I was riveted watching her perform the whole time. I have had this song stick with me because it was such a sad story

I bought the album with this song on. And it really hit me. These are the actual lyrics from the album. Natalie kind of altered them a bit in this performance. But she obviously still gets emotional about it.
