Yeah, Encanto easily belongs in Magic Kingdom, and I’m sick of Disney just putting random shit in parks where they don’t belong at all. If they keep doing this, each park will eventually just become Magic Kingdom 1, Magic Kingdom 2, Magic Kingdom 3, and Magic Kingdom 4.

I'm really back and forth on this if they somehow have the new Indiana Jones ride related to dinosaurs I would at least be ok with it. but if they don't keep the dinosaur angle Ill be furious. Extinct animals are a key pillar of animal kingdom and giving them the boot will just make the park feel incomplete and I still believe Dinoland can evolve. Leave the Dinosaur ride as is and give the ride a big maintenance overhaul and replace Chester and Hester's dinorama with something else that's extinct animals related or heck retheme the land entirely around the dino institute and bring in new extinct animals rides and attractions based on ips like Ice Age. But sense Disney has their Disney Plus obsession so far up there bums I could just at least hope they still figure out a way to work dinosaurs and extinct animals in general with Indiana Jones. As for encanto I'm a bit more accepting of it 1 it replaces Chester and Hester's which I do agree needs to be updated and 2 aside from the macaws flying around the park, there's not much South American representation but Disney doesn't want to invest in a proper expansion even though they have a property the size of San Francisco. (Sorry for the long rant)

@@DinoMike2986I had an idea for the park that would absolutely never happen, but I think it would be awesome if Dinoland was turned into a part of the park with accurate representations of dinosaurs, as it would fit with Animal Kingdom as a whole. I feel like the general public still holds a very “Jurassic Park” type of viewpoint on dinosaurs, and it would be nice to see something as educational as a paleo-accurate dinosaur land. It’ll never happen though, since anything that doesn’t have an IP attached to it is completely dead to Disney. I know that a pre-Bob Iger Disney would totally do something as innovative and ballsy as a paleo-accurate dinosaur park for Animal Kingdom, especially since it combats Jurassic Park/World over at Universal. If Disney actually created it today, I’m quite certain that it would get a lot of traction since shows like Prehistoric Planet have been pretty popular, and that paired with a land based off of accurate dinosaurs could create a major turning point in the dinosaur genre as a whole. Although, part of me doesn’t want them to do that at all since I’m a big ol’ Universal glazer.

@@DinoMike2986for some weird reason, my essa-, ahem, “reply” got deleted. Basically what I was saying is that I would love for Disney to create a paleo-accurate dinosaur land, since it fits with Animal Kingdom as a whole, and it would alter the general public’s “Jurassic Park” type viewpoint on dinosaurs. They’ll never do something like that though since anything that isn’t an IP is dead to Disney, even though Animal Kingdom is probably the most original park in WDW. If it somehow is unpopular with the GP, I’m sure theme park enthusiasts would adore it since it would be a glimpse at Disney becoming creative again.

I also really can't forsee how anything replacing it would really be worth the money? Like, it fulfills a perfect role in AK with bugs and with the entire Tree of Life being constructed around it, I find it hard to think of something more fitting. Also, this ride is super unique in Disney's current lineup and if they could simply update the 3d effects and put some damn money into maintenance, I can see it sticking around comfortably! The problem is that AK not only needs new rides, it needs more rides. Disney's answer is to only address part of the problem and not the full problem. In my opinion, Hollywood studios and animal Kingdom are only a part day park, with only a couple of attractions in each park worth riding. So if you're going to do either, just get a park hopper for a day and do those handful of attractions and spend the rest of the day relaxing around the pool.

It's tough to be a bug is a bit outdated and I understand if it gets replaced. But Zootopia? I don't know. Zootopia plays in a city and I don't think that it fits this park. I am also not sure if abandoning the dinosaur theme is the right call. Dinosaurs will always be somewhat popular with young boys. Well lets see how it plays out. Encanto was popular at the streaming service, but it underperformed at the theaters. But its only a small attraction from what I heard. Indiana Jones? I am skeptical. Indiana Jones 5 did badly at the theaters. Even worse than the fourth installment. The younger generation is disinterested in this ip. The public reception from the latest movie was mixed. I am not sure that investing in Indiana Jones is the wisest descision. If it was 20 years, then yes. But to open a Indiana Jones ride in the late 20s/early 30s is a bold decision.

I'm not really ecstatic about them getting rid of It's Tough to Be A Bug & Dinoland USA in favor of Zootopia & Tropical Americas. IMHO they should consider solutions that makes everyone happy: 1) Update It's Tough To Be A Bug with new animation, new segments that introduce other types of Bugs & have the segments in rotation (that way each show can be a different experience for guests) 2) If they want a Zootopia attraction, IMHO it would fit better in the Rafiki's Planet Watch section of the Park. If they're eventually planning to bring over the Zootopia land from Shaghai Disney, then a few potential construction sites are: -the free area located in between Pandora & Africa -the free area located behind Expedition Everest -the free area located between Asia & Rafiki's Planet Watch 3) Instead of getting rid of Dinoland USA, they should build the Tropical Americas in 1 of the 3 potential construction areas I've previously mentioned: -the free area located in between Pandora & Africa -the free area located behind Expedition Everest -the free area located between Asia & Rafiki's Planet Watch 4) Here's what they should be doing for Dinoland USA: -Build the Excavator Roller Coaster in the Boneyard Area -Replace Finding Nemo Musical with a Good Dinosaur Musical (From Dinoland, Expedition Everest could be seen as Clawtooth Mountain?) -Replace Dino-Rama with a (preferably Log Flume/Water-Based) attraction based on the Ice Age Franchise. If not Ice Age, then The Good Dinosaur might be a decent alternative? -Update the menu that improves the food for Restaurant-o-saurus -Expand the Cretaceous Trail to include enclosures for animals that are considered "Living Fossils" (Horseshoe Crab, Nautilus, Lungfish, Giant Salamander, Tuatara, Gharial, Seriema, Tree Shrew, etc.) -Update Dinosaur with a new pre-show/queue & update the animatronics (possibly giving them more up-to-date appearances) -Walk Around/Interactive encounters with Dinosaurs (Iguanodon, Pterosaurs, Segnosaurus, Baby Dinosaurs, Chasmosaurus, Protoceratops, etc.)

@@Pantheraleo1545 A few new Bugs (insects, arachnids and/or terrestrial invertebrates) that I had in mind for the show are: -The Velvet Worm which can shoot out strings of sticky glue like slime from its' mouth to immobilize its' prey. -Army or Fire Ants, which can link up their bodies to create bridge-like structures in order to either move individuals or prevent drowning when submerged in water. -Swallowtail Caterpillar, which mimics a snake to avoid being eaten by predators; its' antennae can also flick in & out to mimic a snake's forked tongue. -Praying Mantis, Eupithecia orichloris Caterpillar or Dragonfly Nymph. All three are predators with very quick reflexes & extendable body parts to capture their prey. The Mantis utilizes its' arms, the Dragonfly Nymph utilizes its' lower jaw & the Caterpillar utilizes both its' long body and spear-like arms to capture prey. -Waitomo Cave Glow Worm or Leopard Slug. Both utilize hanging strings of slime but in different ways; the Glow Worm uses hanging strings of slime to capture prey (think a bit like a spider's web), while Leopard Slug hangs from a string of slime when mating (obviously, it would be toned downed for the attraction due to it being family oriented) -Diving Bell Spider or Diving Beetle. If there was a new segment of the show in which the theater gets "flooded" it would be a great opportunity to introduce aquatic bugs (possibly crustaceans such as the Mantis or Pistol Shrimp?) I was also thinking about switching up the bug-eating animal that tries to make a meal out of Hopper towards the end of the show. Along with the Chameleon; you could also go with a Frog, a Woodpecker, an Anteater, a Bat-Eared Fox, an Aardwolf or an Aardvark? All of which have long sticky tongues for capturing bugs.

@@Pantheraleo1545 I can't believe I forgot about the Bombadier Beetle, Hawk Moth & Giraffe Weevil; so glad that you suggested them. Much like with the Leopard Slugs, the abilities of the Malaysian Exploding Ant could be toned down & made PG for the attraction with one of the characters mentioning they're okay. It just occurred to me that the interactive effects of the attractions could be reused for different/alternating segments, such as your example with the Soldier Termite & Bombadier Beetle? There are a few more Bugs I had in mind: Vinegaroon - they defend themselves by spraying a foul substance that tastes like vinegar. The shooting water effect for the Soldier Termite, Bombadier Beetle & Velvet Worm could be reused for the Vinegaroon? Flea, Cricket and/or Jumping Spider - All three have great jumping abilities. Didn't suggest Grasshopper because Hopper's already included in the attraction as an antagonist. Spikey or Hairy Puss Caterpillar - These caterpillars are covered in irritating hair, so maybe a similar effect as the Chilean Tarantula? Ladybug or Millipede - When threatened, these bugs release a foul smell, so it might be a similar effect as the Stink Bug? Stag, Hercules, Atlas, Rhinoceros, Elephant and/or Goliath Beetle - all are incredibly strong by bug standards. Emperor Scorpion or possibly Crustaceans (Crab, Lobster, Coconut Crab) - All had strong claws; the attraction could demonstrate their strength with crushing acorns, nuts or coconuts? If the attraction wanted to do a crossover with another Disney film, then the Coconut Crab could be Tamatoa from Moana (portrayed in the attraction with an accurate size closer to a real Coconut Crab)? Mole Cricket or Earthworm - Either one has amazing digging abilities. Maybe they'd get carried away with their digging, hit a patch of water & accidentally flood the theater; leading into a segment that introduces aquatic bugs? Cone Snail - A carnivorous Sea Snail that uses its’ venomous radula like a harpoon to capture & paralyze its’ prey. Gliding Ant or Gliding Spider - If either one is knocked off a tree or jump off to avoid a predator, they spread their legs out to gently float down to a lower branch or the forest floor. Pill Bugs - they can curl up to protect themselves from predators, would carried away & bounce around the theater; possbily utilizing the seat motion effect of the attraction? Peacock Spider, Tumbling Spider, Trapdoor Spider and/or Hermit Crab - couldn't really think how to incorporate them into the attraction, so they might show up in a variation of the show's finale? I also thought of three more larger animals that might try to eat Hopper during his segment of the attraction; Hummingbird, Bee Eater & Bat.

Still have all of that area shut down for a certain amount of time, but for a considerably shorter amount.

A 3D short film that's presumably being worked on alongside the sequel could easily tie-in to something that the animation studio doesn't want to spoil until the sequel's being marketed. Still, if Muppetvision 3D closes before It's Tough to be a Bug I stg

Hopefully disney just realized zootopia is not a good replacement. Like what are the city dwelling creatures of zootopia doing in a tree? I personally love that the current show inside of the tree of life is about the little bugs that are often overlooked but are so essential to the circle of life. It fits into the message of the park beautifully even if it is a ultimately a comedy show. Also the theater is gorgeous and I would hate for the wooden theater to be replaced with a concrete looking zootopia theme.

The main issue with Animal Kingdom is that it has way too little attractions. Replacing them won't solve this problem. And replacing them with attractions that don't fit the theme of the park will just confuse the identity of Animal Kingdom. Animal Kingdom needs its dinosaurs just as much as it needs its lions and dragons. It is a park for animals reals, ancient, and imagined. Zootopia does not belong in Animal Kingdom. And if corporate Disney needs to shove them in there, they should use the many expansion plots they have to build it, not replace others.

I think Disney is working on the Zootopia project quietly. After all, once they have the new Animatronics built, and the new movie made (Which like someone else said might be made along side Zootopia 2) it wouldn't take the construction crew a month to change out the animatronics and the movie. I mean look at the turnaround in Disneyland on Haunted Mansion from Haunted Holiday. And that requires much more work in replacing and adding animatronics.

closing Dinoland will not be the cataclysmic event you seem to think it'll be. if they are really concerned about capacity (they're not because lighting lane) they could just close it in phases. first closing the carnival parking lot area, then redo the ride to match. i agree tough to be a bug should have been worked on already. i would guess that will be worked on after country bear is done.

I think Bugs will close either September 2024 or January 2025. I also think they will open the land in phases with Indiana Jones opening in 2026 with Encanto opening later in 2027.

Look at animal kingdom’s logo you have a dinosaur and a dragon on it. So why get rid of the dinosaur? Plus the plaque for animal kingdom says this is a land for animals of the past, of today, and of fantasy.

I have a very biased view bc I worked at the tree and I loved it there a lot lmao I hate the boring “don’t change anything” people, and I do think it’s tough is a little outdated, but I think it’s campy, fun and at the same time even educational. The show has pre recorded cries and screams, so a lot of times, kids aren’t crying desperately in the audience (but on the same coin, the was practically always one family leaving early at every showing lol). Maybe an update would be nice, even though I really like it as it is. Every single time the exit doors opened at the end, people left the show laughing, it does its job, you know? If they decided to end it all, I kinda get it, HOWEVER I will die on the hill that zootopia is a terrible choice for a replacement. It’s tough to be a bug (following much of DAK’s message) is about how bugs live as bugs, how they operate in nature and how they function around other animals, including and specially humans. The movie itself, just the name tells all “a bug’s life” it’s about flick’s life and job as an ant and all it entails. Zootopia is more of a human story in “fur suits”, they have human qualities, characteristics, jobs, styles of living. It’s a great movie, but it certainly doesn’t match DAK’s view of the human x animal x nature relations

I think it would be optimal if they would do tropical america's first, then after opening that, replace its though to be a bug (hopefully not with Zootopia) and simultaneously with that flipover start the work on a new big ride ride. So in that case the ride line-up wouldt have the least damage in terms of availability, marketing could fill the gap between those massive expansions with a 'new'' ride and in the end you would have 4/5 new rides with the most outdated attractions of the park being gone. However, if its Zootopia, please don't... A replacement wouldnt be bad, but just do a non IP ride for the first time in how many years. The tree of life connects all of the animal kingdom, that theme of itself could be an attraction.

A zootopia ride isn't going to draw any extra people into the park, but closing down a ride when the park is already pretty thin basically it makes it 3 vs 3 for Disney vs Universal, and universal will win that battle because while Magic Kingdom is the best park in Florida, all the universal parks are/will be better than epcot and Hollywood studios. Plus, Zootopia will basically just be the same ride with differently timed special effects and a different video. It isnt a game changer
