    Neighbor 4 doors down from me had a Tesla. Like a dummy he bought it... for $110,000! He absolutely hated it. Fit & finish was shoddy and he was always going to the 'dealership' for 'updates.' He said despite the growing network of charge sites, it still didn't allow him to travel freely. These were his main gripes. 3 years later he tries to sell it and got $48,000 for it. Not only are they WORSE for the environment than gas cars, (strip mining/earth-raping for small amounts of precious metals such as lithium, cobalt, cadmium, nickel, etc. for the manufacturing of batteries), but the resale value is the worst of ANY car (50-55% loss in 2-3 years of ownership)! Simply.... they're NOT READY FOR PRIME TIME regardless of how many limp-wristed man bun-wearing little techy guys drive 'em! Eventually they will be viable as long as GM, Ford, Honda & Toyota figures out a way to make them make sense (100 miles range makes NO SENSE!) Elon Musk is nothing more than an ADHD child who will be onto something else in another 5-10 years anyway.

    Fit and finish was questionable in early models, but I know much of what you claim is BS. Updates are over the air. manufacturing of the vehicle is offset in less then 5 years lithium and nickel are easy to mine cobalt is being removed from the new 4680 cells , The shortest range Tesla is 244 miles. They hold their resale value . The SuperCharger network can get you coast to coast in the US and Canada. charges 163miles in 15 minutes. 0-60 2.3 seconds. The safest cars ever tested 5 stars all categories. autopilot standard. Yes Elon will be onto other things in 5-10 years landing rocket boosters on drone ships 8 times and sending rockets to low earth orbit is getting routine. I just hope he funds his next projects with something even cooler then a Flamethrower!

    I saw one of those at the Ford factory back in 1999 when I was in college ASE club. Went to ASE convention. Had one club member with a family member that was a head engineer at Ford. We got to do a number of tours during that trip. They said it might haul a cold pack. Not very impressive performance but very neat system for the time. Also go to hear some interesting rumors of Ford building their own diesel and about the fuel system they were planning while touring the dealer call in center. Got to talk with the people dealers called into for diagnostic help. Awesome trip.

    Years ago, in a Powerplant design course, the economic analysis shows that Geothermal, Wind, and Solar cost more in construction, maintenance, and wear out long before they pay for themselves, given the costs of Coal and Nuclear power... Now the early 99s wind farms are wearing out, and disposal is a huge problem...

  • @bikerdog2b

    @bikerdog2b

    Solar is priced at $0.03 to $0.06 per kilowatt-hour in 2020 and pays for itself in less then 5 years. I have seen articles on recycling wind mills and the most difficult part to reuse are the blades. The blades are ground up and used as a aggregate for concrete. Nuclear if done right has huge potential study up on thorium reactors if you are still interested in the subject.

    We sold couple of these in NH in '93. Siemens drives and motors, I think. Not all that useful seeing that it's bed was made up of batteries. Maybe this newer model was a bit different. Most probably don't know but there were Rangers with three different diesel engines back in 80's. Dual fuel tanks as well. I think we called it the 800 mile Ranger due to lack of need to refuel.

    Kinda cool, but 82 miles per charge is extremely limiting. His logic for not firing up his big truck for short distances is perfect, though. Money money. I live in a small town with no stop lights or police, so I got a little 36v golf cart to get around! LiFePo (4) Titan means he has lithium iron phosphate batteries made by Titan... Much lighter and longer life than lead acid or AGM but lithium can't be used for any cranking or high surges. Probably why there's a lead acid under the hood. Great option for storing charges, though. I so appreciate this channel.
