Honestly I think this is the best response to criticism towards one's own work I've ever seen. People pointed out some areas of disagreement in one of your videos and instead of ignoring it or getting defensive you made an entire video owning up to it, explaining why, and committing yourself to improving. And you did it in such an interesting, captivating, and informative way - I am stunned. 15/10 - seriously, amazing job.

Love this Johnny. As a Bermudian who grew up on the Island of Bermuda and has sailed thousands of miles as a mariner through the Triangle. The most asked question I get is about the Triangle being real. One correction I must add. The vessel that shipwrecked on Bermuda that inspired Shakespeare's Tempest was in 1609 not 1606. It was called the Sea Venture and part of a convoy on its way to reprovision James Town, Virginia. The castaways of that wreck went on to colonise the island of Bermuda. Let us know if you ever want to visit? We would be happy to have you.

I worked out in the triangle off the coast Florida , Atlantic side. I never saw aliens or anything real crazy but we did experience heavy fog and literally dead calm to raging seas within minutes. Also our navigation system and weather system would go bonkers. I’m no expert but to say the place is strange is an understatement!

It's refreshing, though somewhat concerning how rare it is ... I'm a business owner, and always blows my mind how other business owners get so easily offended ... Growing up reading about the mysteries of the Bermuda Triangle instilled a sense of wonder about the mysterious, vast world that modern technology has worked so hard to eradicate. Having since grown up however, any honest person would realise that the stats for casualties in the Triangle compared to the global average speak for themselves. Great video, thanks for making it.

I always assumed there was nothing mysterious in the first place. The thing is just famous. I called it "Bermuda null hypothesis" (alternative title: Kim Kardashian of the Caribbean).

My brother lives on both St. Croix and Newport, RI since the 1980s and he travels through the Bermuda Triangle several times a year without incident. I have done several cruises and flights through the area in the last decade myself without incident. If you noticed, there really hasn't been a notable incident in the last few decades since maritime traffic is now tracked by satellite.

Look up all the other triangle areas on earth, one being in Alaska on lands. They are also called vortices and smaller new ones have been forming since we put up satellites. Animals do not like these areas and the amount of testimony and unexplained events disappearances in all these areas combined can't be ignored or written off on some fluke. The big vortices are symmetrically placed across the planet. Don't just focus on the Bermuda one, look at all these areas combined.

I've been working my way through your videos a little at a time since I discovered your channel, and I know you hear this a lot (I've read your comment sections!), but its so refreshing to see that integrity in journalism still exists. As a storyteller myself, I know all too well the trap of sensationalizing facts for the sake of a 'satisfying ending'. I don’t know if you get notifications everytime someone goes back to your older videos, but if you do, keep going! I fully intend to continue this educational journey with you.

Normally, I don't leave comments without any reason. But this time, I just have to. Everyone should watch this video. The Sense. The editing. The storytelling, as you say. It's wonderful.

I always felt that the Triangle was a hyperfocused shape on the map. Ships and planes do get lost under mysterious circumstances, but it's never just in one spot. Not to mention all the active traffic that goes through it, you'd think thousands of ships would have disappeared not a couple of digits

I'm a native speaker and my English is fantastic, but youtubers still talk too quickly for me like 50% of the time. That 0.75 speed setting is a huge life saver.

I just don't know from where your video got recommended to me but man this blow my mind where i was this whole life...this video is not about Bermuda triangle but for me its more than that

Great Video. Thank You! I would just like to add that while I was serving in the US Navy in the 80’s and anytime I asked senior officers or lifer-dogs about the triangle the answer I always got was if we don’t have to sail through it…we won’t. Lastly in fairness to your report I was also told that (as you pointed out) there were way more dangerous places to set sail in of which I can attest to have sailed through. Ever wonder why they put non-skid halfway up the walls of Navy ships…at times the ship rolls so much you find yourself walking on the wall…🎸🔊🤘✌️❤️🤟

This was epic, Johnny. It's a masterclass in storytelling, but also misinformation and disinformation. I think more people in the KZread community need to take a page from this video. And I trust that your honesty and transparency will bode well for you into the future.

Probably one of your better videos. I've seen a lot of channels scrutinizing your work lately, and to see you welcome that is something I wish I saw more of on the platform.

Bro I absolutely love that you didn’t take either of the crazy stories that would get you views you literally were just like “yeah this part of the ocean really ain’t that bad”😂

Really funny thing about the traingle is that one of the biggest genres about this and ocean gyres lost at sea etc etc, have stories where someone gets isekaied or sent back in time. This lead to quite a few yacht owners or smaller working ship owners to have vast libraries on things that have nothing to do with ships (like books on farming horse breaking etc etc) having sead banks and tin, lead and iron, steal brass and bronze ingits being added to solid ballast, multiple cheap but accurate desk top clocks etc etc added to ships simply just incase but mostly as a nod to tue particular scifi genre. And salt peter or nitre as it uses to called simply because of how useful it is Some of this stuff was for more mundane shipwreck stuff as there is still a lot of poorly charted sea coast and or it rarely gets visited, or to give away for trade in 3rd world ports or as humanitarian aide Tldr, from about 1880 up until about the 1960s it was common to have isekai survival kits on ships that regularily transveresed the shittuer parts of the ocean and i find that funny

Basically there is nothing out of the ordinary that happened in the Bermuda Triangle, but the good storytellers have the trick. Literally what you were doing in the video. Music at the right time. Captivating imagery and intrigue and you have people hooked.

My assumption is that the area contain a high amonth of magnatism, which causes magnetic instruments to fail, since it sure is alot of tornados there aswell its like a perfect storm for the crew to lose all sense of orientation

Really nice video! Made me giggle a bit when talking about the Bermuda Triangle book and showing that it was translated in hundreds of languages... but you were showing all the books except one in romanian xD

As a Bermudian I rolled my eyes when I saw the tittle. The amount of times this comes up when talking to people I meet is wild. Thank you for your level headed explanation of the why behind this insanely global conspiracy Here’s one little bit you missed: - you left out that the island was called the Isle Of Devils thanks to strange noises from the island (endemic birds and lots of pigs from ships that wrecked due to the massive amounts of reefs around the island), and the frequency of hurricanes - the isle of devils part is where a lot of Bermuda specific stuff comes from, like the Tempest, and some people have decided to lump that fear with the general area for better story

I'm not hellbent on the idea that there has to be aliens responsible for everything weird that happens, but so far your videos that I have seen make me feel like you are trying to close my mind to the idea that there can be so much more than we currently understand. I agree with the numbers and the way you present the understanding and interpretation of knowledge. Though, I think that what makes the Bermuda triangle interesting is not the quantity but the quality, the sheer mystery of what has happened there, all the unexplained dissapearences. Great video, enjoyed it a lot.

I usually never comment or like videos but this one stands out by far. You had me twice in this video because we tend to believe some random fancy scientific stuff presented with audio and visuals. Heck, it doesn't even have to be scientific. Thanks for presenting the actual facts. Data can be morphed the way we want. This video is a gem.

An explanation for something that presents itself as scientific is VERY different than actual evidence based science. Harris DOES present the actual scientific explanation for the "Bermuda Triangle phenomenon": a broader understanding of global shipping and transportation reveal it's not anywhere close to being particularly dangerous compared to any other region of the ocean.

It is something magnetic, I got my pilots license back in the mid 80's and flew around the state of Florida with pilot buddy's. One trip was to Freeport which I flew back to Florida, mid point returning I noticed the Directional compass spinning in the dashboard and nudged my friend who owned the aircraft to look. He laughed a said just go by the compass on top the dashboard (old man compass like you place in a car) which was not spinning. I can see how people can get lost and deviate course if not paying attention. Over water shadows from clouds look like land.

As you were winding up the science explanation my mind was rebelling going "hey, that's equally invalid". I was so happy you switched out of that the way you did. You have no idea how much respect you earned at that exact moment. I found you a while ago for informative story telling. Now, you I have the confidence to know you have done genuine legwork and will go where your research leads you. Wish more people did that.

As Jhonny mentioned the Bermuda is a Highly traveled area with electrical storms, hurricanes, incredibly bad currents that explain the mysteries of the Bermuda Triangle. 8:27 However, I still have questions about the Bermuda Triangle and I know more people is wondering what happened exactly to all those planes and ships. Probably if the video was explaining some of the cases… I’d be 100 percent convince. I trust science and I feels like we were told so many conspiracies theories too and like you said the book that you show us sold more than 14m copies… Btw, you are great storyteller and thanks for posting your links on your research.

I always love to see content creators grow and improve as a result of constructive criticism. Having access to the sources help everyone, and nice job at tying in your acknowledgement of the previous errors in an entertaining way

I was obsessed with the Bermuda Triangle as a kid. Even as an adult, I was sifting through the various ideas for the one that seemed to be the most likely. I was never truly satisfied, but oh man! the head canon that I had developed for my internal story telling was fascinating! I love the extremely valuable datasets. Here's my list of thoughts / questions: • While the Bermuda Triangle doesn't register as significant among global incidents, what if we narrow down to more localized regions, isolating areas with more similar characteristics, like depth, lack of SOS / mayday / wreckage, type of vessel / craft, etc.? • Among vessels / craft that have survived an experience within the Triangle, which ones reported instrument malfunction, especially related to possible magnetic interference? • How many survivors of incidents have reported common phenomena? It's easy to dismiss things when buried in data, but human nature is to find anomalies WITHIN ordinary datasets. And while pattern detection may a leftover trait, it's still quite useful when it's trained to look for things that may still be significant. Additional factors may include phenomena that are restricted to aircraft, or prop planes specifically, or the size and configuration of naval vessels, etc. I'm sure that there's no portal to Atlantis or some other dimension (maybe), but since we know that earth's crust and mantle are not uniformly dense, and that gravitational anomalies can now be mapped based on density variations - there's even a 3D model of denser structures within our planet! - can anything be traced to that region? There's so many ways to look at the information available, but also with the addition or subtraction of information that may be obfuscating any useful answers.

despite bermuda triangle not being number 1 in wreckages, it doesn't explain of the disappearances to all vessels and their final resting place and the cause for the phenomenon! Ghost ships etc...only in the region.
