What's NOT SELLING In My Booth + New Items For April

Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль

Here are all the items that are Just NOT SELLING in my booth! Plus getting ready for Easter!
This week I wanted to mix it up a little. I always share the new items, the thrift hauls and stuffing the booth with the latest finds and of course what's selling, but what about the other items? They can't all sell, so today I'm going through all the items that aren't moving in my booth. Mostly the glass. What are your hardest things to sell??

There are many ways to organize your inventory. Like items grouped together, color blocking, eras. Try putting primitives together. Try putting the Mid-century deer on the table with the hairpin legs. Put elegant items together. You'll work it out.

I miss my booth! I'm glad you added more artwork to that beige wall. Maybe next time go all the way up as far as you can. It will make a statement!

I love that idea!! I'm always on the lookout for new artwork to add to the booth. It's hard to get it piece by piece and then somehow find a flow.

Arrange objects into small groupings. It will give buyers ideas on how items could look in their homes. The art of placement comes naturally to me so I am surprised when people dont know what looks good with what. They need help and you can be the person to help. You have many nice things at good prices.

Try placing the deer in a forest setting. You're good at staging. I know that's the 1st thought I had for those delicate creatures. 🦌 🦌 See if that helps your sale.

I just moved them today! I brought them down to the wood ironing board and next to a vase that has gold in the pattern. I'll see how that goes this weekend!!

Or...place it on a table for a different view. I assume it's been hanging all the while. As a customer is walking by, they can look from the top of the cage, noticing the intricate details of the wood and look into the cage. They may've been afraid to touch the cage for fear of it falling before. On a table, their fear is limited. Let me know what you think.

I love the idea of brining it down to the table. I'm planning to move the furniture around in a few weeks. I'll put brining the bird cage down to eye level on my design list!! Thanks!

Love your booth and that beautiful birdcage! I have a small booth here in western PA and have the same struggle with glass. Clear glass of any kind does not sell well for me. One thing that seemed to help me starting this year was to remove all of the items that had been there for a long time. I stored them and will bring them back later. In 2022 I did this with art and paintings. I brought them back this year and they are flying off the wall. I'm currently looking for more art. Trends change I guess. I also experimented with less on the shelves. I had too much going on and I think my buyers didn't like that. When I went a little more sparse (looked empty to me) items sold. Love your videos and inspiration!!!

I think there is something to the shelves looking sparse! I've had a few glass pieces sell lately and its because I took out all of the extra ones. I still have art moving quickly but I do rotate through them often. Thanks for sharing- the bird cage did end up selling a little after this video. I was really happy it found a someone to enjoy it!

Thanks Anna! I've been thinking about color a lot lately. I'm trying to brighten up the booth. I'll also need to look at moving things out of the booth and save them for a later time.

How often do you rearrange the pieces in your booth? Not the furniture pieces, just everything on them. When I was part of a co-op, we found we needed to move things around frequently to keep things selling. It’s amazing how people would then notice things that had been in the shop for months. We called it “fluffing the shop”. Some people were very good at fluffing anytime they worked; others avoided it as though they didn’t want to touch other members’ stuff. You don’t have anything to prevent you from changing things around often. I think you have lovely pieces. Don’t hesitate to take some pieces home for a few months while you add new, then bring them back as space opens. Rethinking and relocating may get things going.

I think that's a great idea! I will need to take a few things home for a while with plans to bring them back. I admit I am better at moving around the furniture and thinking of the smaller items after that. I've noticed that I really avoid moving things no the bookshelf and that's where I should be moving things every time I'm there! I'll have to keep track of what I move and if it helps things sell!!

Just started following you on Facebook. What seems to sell best in your booth? I love most of the items that you say aren’t selling in your booth especially the crocks and the birdhouse is phenomenal!!! It seems like the things that are no brainers can sit forever and things that you think will be there forever sell within a week or so. Next time that you are shooting video in your booth will you explain to me what areas are yours and where you are allowed and not allowed to use? Your space really confuses me but I’m older and it takes me quite awhile to figure things out 😵‍💫😵‍💫😂. I was so glad that you staged the table that you redid to give customers an idea how to use it!❤️

Hi Kathleen, thanks for following along! I've noticed that small artwork seems to be the fastest to move. It seems that flowers or nature scenes that are 5"x7" move within the first week of putting them in the booth! I will always scoop those up when I see them! I love the idea of explaining the booth space. I feel like it is hard to see with all of the stuff in the booth and the space being fairly open. Thanks!

So glad to see a new video from you! I only have a section of shelves at the antique mall and have only been at it for a month. Lots of fun. I too have a few items I thought would sell quickly, but not yet. Looking forward to more from you. Keep up the great work 👍

Another great video! Having a booth definitely has a learning curve. It takes a while to figure out what sells in your area. I will say that clear glass is a hard sell just about anywhere. Right now uranium glass and swung vases are hot. Also, making sales is a numbers game. The more you have the more you sell..seems obvious but the more you can cram in the more you’ll sell. I have learned to pack my booth! I sold 225 items in March and it didn’t even make a dent in my inventory lol. $20 and under are the bulk of my sales with a few higher $ items in the mix. As for stuff you’ve had in your booth for a long time, move it around. It’s surprising how often things sell after you move them. Yo have a good eye! Keep at it, pack more stuff in there, and when you think you can’t fit anything else in..pack more in lol! Love both of your channels and following along on your adventures!

Thanks Valerie! I had someone tell me to put more in the booth and I said it wouldn't fit, but I prove myself wrong every week! I've been trying to focus on the $20 and under items lately, but its still slowly shifting in the booth. I will need to keep looking and keep finding ways to fit more in as I move furniture around!

Thanks Wendy! I think what isn't selling is as interesting as what is, but I never considered it for a video before. I love the glass pieces. I have a few around the house as decoration, but they must just be too common. I'll probably keep a few but cycle the rest through a little slower.

That's interesting! I've only sold 2 small and lower priced tables and the chairs. I think it really fell into the category of a good price and a useful item even though I always hope people are buying it because its fun and unique that isn't what seems to move for me either!
