Love your booth and that beautiful birdcage! I have a small booth here in western PA and have the same struggle with glass. Clear glass of any kind does not sell well for me. One thing that seemed to help me starting this year was to remove all of the items that had been there for a long time. I stored them and will bring them back later. In 2022 I did this with art and paintings. I brought them back this year and they are flying off the wall. I'm currently looking for more art. Trends change I guess. I also experimented with less on the shelves. I had too much going on and I think my buyers didn't like that. When I went a little more sparse (looked empty to me) items sold. Love your videos and inspiration!!!

I think there is something to the shelves looking sparse! I've had a few glass pieces sell lately and its because I took out all of the extra ones. I still have art moving quickly but I do rotate through them often. Thanks for sharing- the bird cage did end up selling a little after this video. I was really happy it found a someone to enjoy it!

Great look, Larua! Question on your inventory spreadsheet...your Expenses column...Since you're already covering the cost of the item in one column, and in another column your associated materials costs (paint, hardware, etc), and fees are in yet another, what are yout keeping a running record of in the Expenses column? Thanks for sharing your work! Hope your booth is going great!

Thank you!! The expenses column just adds those 3 things together. I'm a visual person, so it helps me see how much I've put into an item. Sometimes without seeing that total I'll price an item way too low! You can always delete that one if it makes it too cluttered for you. Thanks for asking about the booth! There have been a lot of changes to catch everyone up on, but it's going great!

Great fix. I think it would be cute to suspend them in the air with mini lights so that you can showcase the beautiful doorknobs as well. I have a piece of branch driftwood found at the beach, and I am going to suspend it over my dining table with shells hanging down. I'm going to add a few of these doorknob bottle brush trees.

I use double side tape but it have to be the thick one,the one use to hold the carpet down a little piece that any body can’t see it

Another thing you can do is print off labels/price tags by merging those three columns; Item number, description, and price in the Avery app.

Arrange objects into small groupings. It will give buyers ideas on how items could look in their homes. The art of placement comes naturally to me so I am surprised when people dont know what looks good with what. They need help and you can be the person to help. You have many nice things at good prices.

Happy it was helpful! I account for the cost of the item, any materials like paint or glue to fix it, the 10% that the antique store takes and the 3% I cover if someone uses a credit card 😳 it seems like a lot, but it's only a problem if you don't account for it when pricing your items!

Your booth looks great! Love the succulents you added. Hang in there, summer months are always slow. It will start picking up again soon. It does help to rotate merchandise often. I always have sales after doing so.

Trick to sales have lots of smalls at 5 to15 bucks impulse buys, I just started selling books in my booth (Amish paperbacks and popular authors at 2 to 3 bucks (I get them for 50 cents) and hardcovers at 3 to 4 bucks (i get them no more than 1.00) last time i went someone had bought 20 books! It's a bread and butter items for me...... I'm also going to make up some grab bags

I actually have one close and I'll be able to post it this weekend. I'm hoping to have more regular updates from now on too!

Thank you for sharing, this is what i needed for my new booth! It would be nice to be able to add in the monthly booth rent, stoe 7% commission and calculate it into the profit/loss column. What are your thought on this? Thank you!

Hi! Yes, I do add the percent commission on my personal sheet. I also add in the 3% they charge for credit cards. I just assume everyone will use a credit card then I can be surprised when they do not. The rent is harder to add in because it would need to be divided by the number of things you sold that month, so you wouldn't be able to add it until the end of the month. Hope you're having a blast with your new booth!!

Your transparency is appreciated, and I am thankful for the tips that others leave in the comments. I am about to do my first booth as well. Negotiating booth cost is my next hurdle. The building owner has 80% of her own vtg/antique items and is offering me a small room. It's close to the register and one of the first rooms you SEE while entering the shop. However, she is only open 4/days week. I am optimistic. Starting slow is just the pace I need to get my feet wet. I'm in East Texas y'all

Ooooo that sounds great! My building is not open on Sundays and I was ok with it at first, but now every Sunday I just think about how great of a day it would be to have people going trough the booth. You'll be able to get a feel for it after a few weeks/months. Maybe 4 days is the perfect way to motivate people to shop during those 4 days!!

Then Courtney turned around and her shirt had “Zion” on the back. My first house was on a street named Zion Hill. 😂. I absolutely love and miss my old house it was built in the early 1900’s and had tons of character. About 8 years ago we moved to the county because they have much better school districts than the city but the houses are all fairly new and so BORING! Thanks for sharing and can’t wait to see everything that your doing I’m sure that it’s looking gorgeous.❤️
