Seth and DGR family: I dropped out of Pikes Peak Marathon. I qualified for Wave 1 and dropped, as I should've. I've been struggling with my mental health lately and I'm checking myself into somewhere that can help on Monday. I'm sad, I'm scared, I'm nervous, but I know this is the right move!

did a 5k race. Previous PB 21:31. Went out a bit fast, first km in 4:02. Then stopped checking my watch and tucked in with a group and we just pushed on. Ended up finishing in 21:09 for a nice PB.

Hoping to get my hands on a pair of these! My first ever running shoes were sketchers, I have no idea what model as I picked them up from TK Maxx to get into running, but did everything in them including a whole training block and my first half marathon, park runs and club runs and even some light trails! Now I have a pair of shoes for every occasion so seems a strange concept.

My main shoes had to be retired earlier than anticipated two weeks ago which led to tired legs and a minor ankle sprain. Yesterday was the first long run in a new pair of Mizunos and my pace was instantly back to where it was in May. Listen to your legs and be ready to swap in a different pair of shoes if something doesn't feel right. Good luck with the house hunt!

QD: Easing back from injury so instead of a long run today I did 10miles on the bike followed by 3mile run to replicate some long run fatigue without smashing my leg up! Also did a beach clean with the running club this AM, it’s great to get out and clean the beaches that we enjoy so much when coastal running!

QD: first time hit 30k on a long run. Started easy(4.50 min/km) because I didn't know how it would have been, but towards the end I picked up the pace nice and easy(4.27 min/km) and finished like I was able to go further. I hit those 100k per week finally 💪

QD: ran the Catoctin 50K in Northern Maryland, a 34 mile course with ~5500 feet of gain and ALL the rocks. Didn't have a great day performance-wise, but I beat my goal of finishing under 6 hours (watch time was 5:59, race time was 5:56) and in 12th overall. I ran a 19 hour 100 miler 6 weeks ago that left me with some achilles issues that didn't allow me to do much climb training lately, so I blame my relative lack of performance on that 😆

Hi Seth, which shoe could you suggest for a 220lbs guy who isnt running but fast walks? I like it soft, just not too soft. At the moment I use the hookah cliffton 7. For me the heal is too soft, I almost feel the road in this show and the mid-foot is a bit too tough or too much. Could you based on those infos give a suggestion? thanks

Next step is focus on my 5km to try get a fast one in before I have to think about my HM and 10 milers.

QOD... Was an accident long run, I just moved house and took a wrong turn, realising after only a few hundred metres I decided to just keep going, guessing an alternate route, I then decided to add even more on once I knew where I was ending what should have been 5 or 6kms with a total of 16.9kms... And I didn't finish until 8:30pm... On top of that I'm running every day this month to 1) keep turning that doorknob, 2) get ready for a marathon on the 31st of July and 3) learn my new neighbourhood.

Oh noooo, you committed running shoe homicide!! Haha! I so wish Skechers would get shelf space at the legit running shoe stores. I'm glad Skechers is doing better with the uppers and breathability. The Max Road 4 was too hot to run in, especially for summer and it ended up I gave it to my local thrift store. I love my Razor 3+'s though! QD: I just started running 5 months ago. I set a PR in a 5K last weekend of 27:43 or 8:55 per mile which was quite good for me since I was training at 11 to 12min/mi. Literally. No idea what he’s saying. How does heavier weight = higher build quality? A lighter shoe would probably be easier to take apart but that’s because the upper is lighter and thinner, not bad build quality
