She was thumping around 4:15 in. Put some good headphones on guys, she was putting out some decent bass. I think this would be pretty legit for a new basshead looking to fill out that low end. 👍👍👍 good stuff Big D

Clean, crisp, and doesn't rattle the license plate. Dyna mat or not. I prefer people outside the vehicle did NOT hear it.

At least they didn't really lie about the output...... and you can't argue with the price

For budget equipment dual really does its rated... To bad other budget brands dont follow suit.

I personally enjoy these videos of low end equipment. I used to enjoy wowing folks with my cobbled up system, while the audio snobs hated on me with their Fosgate and Alpine bought with daddy's money.

I had a 220W Boss AMP with an MTX Blue Thunder Wedge Box in an 82' Firebird. When my mother passed I got some money and put in a $3500 Rockford Fosgate system. pair of 12" punch pros, Punch 200 AMP. It was port tuned for super low bass and I could feel 5hz in that car. Thing is? I slapped a 15" MTX box in there I got for a trade (Amiga 500) and it put out better sound. In fact if I had put a better amp to my MTX Wedge it would have sounded almost as good. I paid alot to learn that lesson at 18 years old. I will never make that mistake again. Years later when I wanted to bass up my Lincoln Mark VII I went ahead and bought Sony 12"s and a sealed box, a Sony 1000HX amp (550 watts @ 2ohm mono .05% THD) and it hit harder than my 12" Fosgates, in fact it harder than the new Fosgates that I talked my brother in law into buying when he was building his first system. I then tried a pair of 15" punches and ran into a lack of air space in the car and trunk. The 15"s were starved and just didn't sound that good in that situation. This was in the early Aughts. They never caught the super lows, in fact no other system i've ever heard caught lows that low that wasn't custom, save one built by the same guy that built mine using 2 15" Fosgate Punch in an Isobaric config. I've been out of the "Dj Magic Mike make the car go boom" lifestyle going on a few years and I decided I wanted SOMETHING better than stock so now I have this Dual with a 10" JL Wx0 in it. Perfect match. It needs 110 watts RMS @ 4 ohms and this amp provides just that. Sub maxes at 500 watts and the amp at 300 so I should never have an issue. Oh and as a BTW, that AMP is too powerful for that Dual sub. The voice coil on mine froze. That's why I bought it. Paid $20 for a broken sub and a working amp/box. So I am back to cobbling systems together myself and couldn't be happier doing so. You never know what you can get to sound awesome with a little work and some thought. Regardless of how you got the money.

Well, if anything this little sub is honest about its power rating. Some of the big guys could learn something from it.

That would be me.

I have found that dual is a trusted brand. They are budget but they offer honesty and to be honest they sound really nice. I like the amps, never had a big issue with their head units.

This is a pretty gnarly little powered sub for how inexpensive it is. I put one in my truck after blowing 2 Memphis 12's and a Memphis monoblock 1100 and I'm pretty well satisfied with the sound. Far more than I expected after having listened to a $3500 system for a year. Dual products are grossly undervalued and underrated. They have a couple of amplifiers that are just nasty. Made in the USA, too, I think

I have one of these Dual units in my old Cherokee. I just wanted something cheap and easy to add some depth to my music and it serves the purpose quite nicely. Good enough quality and with a name like Dual - no one will steal it.

Not a surprise to me. I had two 12" DUAL subs from Walmart in 2014 and they rocks. I put them on my old Technics columns at home when the original subs blow up, and oh boy! Entire hose shake like crazy and they sounded really good. Much better than OEM Technics subs.

I bought mine for $55 but didn't keep it. Glad it got a solid review from you. It seems to get consistently positive reviews and the conclusion is consistently the same. Im gonna install a separate sourced 12" sub, amp, box setup. But I'll probably put this in my lady's car when i upgrade her factory headunit.

Im proud of Dual, seems like they’re trying to make a good product and have some integrity for once 💯

Considering the price honestly I'm very impressed!

I put 2 in my truck (you have to take the amps off and use a single 500w amp for it) but there honestly better then I thought. I had one by its self for a bit and thats also still not bad

I have personally worked in that amplifier in tje shop here and was very impressed by it's build quality! I dynoed it and it showed similar results. Just the amp it self is decent! Very happy with it.

in the 2000s there were those dual 12" Dual bandpass enclosures lol

Picked one of these up for my single cab 92 Toyota pickup as it was the only box I could find that would fit behind the seat. It does a great job of filling the cab with bass. When it fails I plan on loading the box with a better sub and an amp but for now it does what I need it to do. All I had were two four inch speakers under the dash and they weren't cutting it.

Yeah that's a good speaker don't need all that crazy four subwoofers in your trunk mirrors rattling like crazy waking up the neighbors sitting off alarms that's too much for me I have one Rockville 8 subwoofer and that little thing pack a punch I have the Rockville tweeters that's pretty much it speakers are stock sounds really good

I put one in my truck. Took amp out and wired up wal mart Jensen 91RB amp. Impressed.

I put one of these in my 04 Jeep Grand Cherokee, it has a 6 speaker system but no sub. Fits perfect in the spare tire well behind the back seat, completely hidden. Worked great for upgrading the stock system, that's all it's made for. And for that it works pretty well especially considering the price. I upgraded the 6 factory speakers with Rockford Fosgate and they are run from the factory Infinity amp and this is run straight from the head unit using RCA converters.

I really felt that comment about most people just needing some low end to their music. Years ago my biggest setup was four 15 inch Kove Armageddon's on two Lanzar Optidrive 2000.1D amps in a 92 four door s10 blazer. Still miss that full body massage on the way home from work somedays. Now I've got a oldish Rockford Fosgate punch HX2 10 in a ported box with a mid 00's Rockford Fosgate p300.1 amp in a 04 F150 extended cab. With the right song I can rattle the back glass and shake all the mirrors, but just having a full soundstage with out overpowering the mids and highs is all I need anymore. I still really admire the big builds though. Everytime I pass someone and their system is shaking my truck more than my own stereo is, I always smile and think "a decade or so ago that was me" lol.

@@ethanlinkous5620 My truck had a middle jump seat with a fold down center console between the driver and passenger seats. I removed the jump seat/console and the box fit between the front seats. Have enough room for two cupholders in the floor between the box and the 4wd shifter, and sits almost flush with the back of the front seats so it doesn't affect rear passengers foot space anymore than the jump seat did. I believe the box is a prefab. I got lucky and found the box (deminsions and volume/cf was perfect for my needs and sub) with a kicker comp and phenoix gold amp on craigslist. Bought the set up and sold the sub and amp for what I paid for all three items.

Nice, I just saw this video. Eventhough I have watched many of your vids. Anyway, my Walmart had these with a clearance price of $35.00. My sub looks a bit different than this one in video. So I can only guess maybe clearing out old stock. So I bought two of these and installed both in my pickup. Sounds great to me, and have been running them for about 18 months with no problems.

I had this exact sub and to be honest its a perfect little addition to any car stereo system if your just trying to add a little extra bass without spending hundredes or having to run tons of wires and cables. Its not built to shake the entire car but it does a decent job of increasing bass output. Its nice for what it is and im glad you agree you dont need a tousand dollar system to jam out. Most people hate on cheap audio systems like this saying its crap or that it doesnt sound good.

Put one of these in my 02 explorer, sounds great inside and doesn't rattle crap outside, i like it!

I like that it does rated power and they don’t claim 1-3k watts on the box

Your videos are always straight-shooting, but thanks anyway for giving props to the low end component because it deserved props. (As opposed to denouncing it solely because it's "cheap.") I work in another sector of the audio/video industry, and it's astounding how many people mistake "audiophile" for (quote EEVBlog) "audiophoolery." EDIT: PS, you have a lot more sympathy for that scooter incident than I'd care to admit to.

Got this setup from Walmart, the dual came blown. Put a kicker 10 off the shelf next to it into the box and it sounded super good.

To everybody bagging on Dual electronics: you are missing the point of their existence. They are a value brand, built for a certain budget and customer. The sub is excellent for a Walmart customer looking for bass without spending a lot of money. Keep in mind all the ripoff amps like Boss, Crunch, etcetera that Big D has dynoed. This was honest power delivered for a good price.

The K6 is a pretty good sub actually

I bought this same unit about 2 months ago. For what it is, it’s great. Had an unfortunate accident where the sub got hit and blew a hole in it. Went back to trusty old Walmart and picked up a kicker 10” , after a little sanding to make it fit, thing sounds even better.

For what it was, I was perfectly happy.. I put it in a 04 Jeep Wrangler that doesn’t have the factory subwoofer. It was more than enough for my needs. I don’t need a big ass system like I had when I was younger.

Great reveiw man.i put this in my little single cab chevy s10 pickup.it actully sounds great.i didnt want to spend alot of money & do alot of wiring & stuff.its a good little speaker for the price.

I was eyeing this after getting a $25 Dual 200 watt bluetooth head unit(sounds awesome with some pioneer 5x8 but no deep bass) to replace the broken factory radio in my old truck but was unsure of the quality. Sold.

Ok installed it and man its loud in a standard cab ranger. Won't be winning any competitions of course but it fills out the lows perfectly after tuning and even hard rap has the proper boom. Plus not being heard around the block when you crank it up has its own perks if you want to keep the peace. My collection of outlaw country like willie waylon and the boys all have those deep bass guitar tracks and they rattle the mirrors. For anyone wanting to put some affordable bump in the trunk this is certainly a more than viable option and works for all music types just not rap and other hard boomy music.

Have one in my 94 C1500 Extended Cab with some pyle 6x4s in the front and it actually sounds super clean. Plenty of low end and no distortion when cranked up. Got mine for $60 at the time. Perfect for most peoples needs.

Crazy, just bought this today and now it's in my KZread suggestions. Interesting.

I would really love for you to dyno test some wondom sure electronic, class d amplifier boards, maybe the 100w X2, Maybe the 500w X1, and others, this would be something that no one else has done, and these boards are real good, let's see if ' l'm a real big dummy' or not!!! 😁😁😁😁 My compliments sir!!!

I got this for 50 bucks on a special somehow on walmart.com. I’ve had it for about a year and it’s actually not that bad for “dad bump” 😎

I got one last year off the shelf for 59 bucks. Works fine.. I also run 4 ) 6x9 powered by 1200 watt JL amp . The sub isnt going to rattle your windows off but if makes for a full dound dialed the input to 90% the crossover to 50% and base to 80 %.

I snagged one in the clearance aisle for 25 bucks. Don't know if that was a steal or not so I came to this video.

I'd say one good thing about these all in one units is they get your amp, box, and speaker situation out of the way and then you can focus on getting the power wires and signal wires to the head unit sorted out. It makes for a good test bench to get everything hooked up and test to see how it sounds. And it's small enough you can easily move it around to test and see how the bass sounds in different parts of the car. Just run a thicker gauge power wire in anticipation of upgrading to a more powerful amp. Then, you just need to drop in and hook up a higher quality speaker+amp+box combo. If these things had just a bit more power, like maybe 150-200 watts they'd put out the decibels to match up perfectly with the highs and mids of the door speakers.

Thumbs up for using a sealed enclosure! I've heard cheap JBL 2x12 ported boxes and they are tuned at like 50hz wayyy to high 🤦‍♂️

@@wal Yeah, but there could be a volume (edit: as in space, not SPL) trade-off. As awesome as a trunk full of sub cabinets would be, I don't think I'd want it in my daily driver.

Dual might not be the best brand in the world but damn at least rate there stuff correctly!!! I like these videos

Years ago back in 2005/2006 I got a different model 10 inch dual powered 300watt sub for my ford probe gt. it was decent for a cheap setup or if you didnt want insane bass. I ended up upgrading it after a year to 2 alpine 10 inch 600watt subs.

Wow. Did its rated. Perfect for my wife's car. Maybe even two.

I miss the Bazooka tube's from the 90s they fit any vehicle and had great sound

Crutchfield sells them! Bought the 6.5 tube for a small system in my crv! I have it between the front seats for up front bass!!!

The wife is looking for a bit of low end for her car without breaking the bank or taking a lot of room.. this is a perfect solution. I am going to get this and install it. Thanks.

I got these for 50$ so i brought 2 enclosers. Installed them in my 2017 dodge durango sounds awesome. Would recommend for someone thats on a budget.

Honestly, Dual seems to be about the best extreme low budget gear you can purchase and still get acceptable results. In other words you can do worse than Dual. BTW Dereck, loved that wilkhelm scream you added into the scooter pile-up, LOL!

It's actually a good thing they glued it, vibration failure is a common issue on amp/ speaker combos.

You could probably also switch the subwoofer out later for something similar wattage I would rock that box

Where I use to work at, audiotech In Fresno, I made a budget build using these same duals aswell, but I took it a step further and took out the backseats to my truck, made a huge box consisting of 20 10inch duals subs, 8 Hitron 1100.1 amps, stock alternator, only used 4 kicker ks 6x9s in those premade boxes. Clarion eq, Sony single din and booooooyyyyyyy, did those subs hit so freaking loud. You get bass and sound. It was probably the cheapest and coolest build we ever done, but he ended up closing doors and there goes fresnos bestest,cheapest installs, we were the only ones who offered good and cheap bass packages that anyone can afford. Now it takes $700 plus to even get a so called cheap system. We had packages from $280-$400 for bass. Damn I missed those good days.

I actually bought this for my offroader cuz it was missing that little something extra and the sub was cheap.

I installed 2 of these on my 2017 dodge journey. They sound pretty decent for the price of 50$

Great videos (checked a few out). I'm sure I'll be peeping this channel when I finally get around to modifying a civic down the road in a couple years ( need a garage first). Going to grab this for my crv since the 6.5's will never cover much below 100hz. I listen to Tool. Justin deserves more than cheap 6.5's the way he plays that bass.

I am now halfway curious what kind of SPL gains could be made by just building a better box while retaining same amp/sub. The person who buys one of these probably doesn't have $300+ laying around for a "name brand" bass setup, but probably has $30 in their pocket for a sheet of MDF...only trade-off I can see is losing trunk space.

Once I get me a car I'm definitely getting me subs always dream getting me subwoofer. Might start cheap since I'm working might get a bigger one
