Amp With Built In Subwoofer? Kingwood RK-904 Flea Market Special [4K]
Ғылым және технология
Today we look at the Kingwood RK-904 "1000 watt" amplifier I recently found. This is a cheap, Flea Market car audio amplifier designed to rip off the unknowing consumer. Sure, it looks like a Rockford Fosgate amp, but what's inside this beast? Let's take a closer look at the amp and try it on the SMD AD-1 Amplifier Dyno!

Love these flea market amp tests. Takes me back. I got duped over 20 yrs ago by one that was supposed to be 275x2, and was a mostly empty case with lead weights inside it and had 3 20 amp fuses that didnt even connect to the board.

LOL! Love it. I remember when I use to go to flew markets in S. California and saw these all the time as a young teen and adult. Mostly asian's working the booth. I have one funny story. None of us had much money so we purchased one of these amps and noticed something rattling inside so I open it up and some one left a tool inside after manufacturing...

That's what I thought the "built in subwoofer" was 😂😂😂 just some shitty ass 1in speakers. But I guess I was giving it too much credit 😭
A more ridiculous amp is built by RF in their Lightning Audio line. The amp is labeled with the Fast and the Furious logo, with the wires themed the same way, and the accompanying 10 inch sub is grey and red that says Fast and the Furious in the dust cap.
That thing was way ahead of its time; energy conservation rules!
Oh my, only missed that 1000 watts by 920 😂😂 That built in subwoofer is a beast! Anyone trying to peddle shit like this should be physically assaulted.

I had my share off flea market amps. They used to have clearance sales at the Civic Auditorium here in Omaha Ne back in the 90's. I bought a red amp that said 1000 watts max and it did not have a gain control on it and I bought a sub box with 2 15 inch subs with tweeters. I though i had something back then didn't know any better.

I love the video, keep them coming!
"Kingwood" even the name it self is cheesey 😂😂
I'm a Kingswood authorized dealer and the reason you got those numbers is because you did not load waste into the flux capacitor at the center of the amp as instructed by the owners manual. also, those two rings were holding dark matter and by moving them not only did you rip a hole in the space time continuum, but you also voided the warranty buddy.

I haven't been to a flea market in a long time, but please tell me that y'all remember seeing the car audio booth and they had those no-name dual 12s, 10s, and 8s in a box for $50...I had a set of those no-name junk 12s in a box with tweeters built in that a friend of mine gave me because he was genuinely interested in how much power they could handle. I had a Sony Xplod tape deck, Sony 10-disc CD changer, two Kenwood 1500 watt amps, and two JL Audio 15s in my Exploder, and I threw those two 12s on a Kenwood 600 watt monoblock amp that I had and they sounded like shat and blew damn near immediately. My boy went back to the flea market and tried to get his money back...he got thrown out...lmfao

@@pgmurray76 the 3rd gen were still nice. The power series I have were same era made in china and beasts too. Rated 400 rms with 3" coils. I been collecting the old jbl stuff when I find it local at decent prices.
Back in the day (80s) I never wasted any money on anything but alpine stereos 7164 cassette model and amps which were small but worked for me and it was always money well spent never had any problems. Plus I bought a spectrum analyzer which was special order and took like two or more weeks for delivery and cost about 400 bucks even back then wished I would’ve kept it. @@cup_and_cone But, if I really had to (for this lovely Kingwood) then probably JB Weld two of three studs/standoffs onto sink, then use a bar and thermally conductive isolators to clamp them down. Taramps 4 channel amplifiers are compact as is the HD series. I think having someone think this flea market amp is driving 2000 to 3000Watts into a quality subwoofer would be the most fun.
