Good video. Love the layout and simplistic explanation of gear.
Appreciate all the good information. I hope life is going your way brother!
Headed to Idaho September 20 for my first archery Elk hunt. Loved the video. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks for putting out an awesome, very informative video with straightforward explanations of the gear. Its so refreshing to see a bag dump video from an actual hunter who is not a paid informant for the big name brands of gear & clothing. Keep up the good work!

@@BuffaloCreekOutdoorsOfficial Different, not really. I like the overall format, I like the fact that you break down what's in each category & how much they weigh. It would be neat to see how everything packs inside of your backpack & where/how your bow attaches. Other than that, I really like the sound quality that you get from your Tascam mic & I'm curious how well that LItra light worked for you during your hunt. I'm considering getting one to go with my GoPro when I'm out in the woods. Thanks for the video.
Great video, going on a 10 day guided hunt in Oregon for roosies!

Who are you hunting with? If it's Upfront Outfitters, you're in for a really great time! Mike Jenkins is a good friend and one of the best outfitters I know, especially on Roosevelt elk.
Hell yea man me and 2 buddies are planning a diy otc Colorado elk hunt for Septemberish this is honestly the best gear video I’ve seen that I feel is geared toward the working man. Where it’s not all name brand X and sponsored and shit . Me and my 2 buddies are blue collar and don’t have a lot of extra cash so when we spend money we gotta be damn sure on what we buy good luck, be safe and shoot straight
Love your video.
Good video!
How about a video on other mountain "hacks"? Little tips and tricks you do on the mountain to help with efficiency pertaining to camping, etc. Also another video idea might be a "pack hack". How you actually pack your pack to be the most efficient etc.
We'll be headed to southern Colorado the same time you are for our first elk hunt! Thanks for the video. We're still figuring out what to pack!
Can you post the excel spreadsheet ?
Great video, where is the Excel spreadsheet at?

Unfortunately I could not load the excel spreadsheet, however I will be uploading a video this summer with my updated gear list and pack dump.
Very good video. I get chapped on my butt too. I bring baby power and vasoline.
Great video! I couldn't see the total weight before food. What's your Max pack in weight with food and water and how many miles per day could you go with that at full capacity. Vs If your weight was 100 pounds total how many miles a day could you do?

I apologize for the late response, I have been away from the channel for the last year while I have been building my house. To answer your question, my max pack weight is very dependent on temperate of the hunt I am going on. I will be uploading an updated gear list/weight and pack dump video over the summer. A lot of my gear has changed since I posted this video. I would say on average, my pack total with all my gear, food, water, bow, and camera gear, is in the 60lb range.
I have an Exo 5500 and really didn’t like could never set it up to fit me. So I bought a Kifaru and it is night and day difference from the EXO if any one is serious about buying a pack. I would highly consider the Kifaru.
Great video. What type of boonie is that?
What is the bow in the video background? Thanks!
How long are your arrows? 77 pound with total of 175gr up front seems alot for a 340 spine arrow?
Curious to know - with water weight included and bow strapped onto your backpack, not including bino harness system - what is your total pack weight that you start out with on those 3-4 day stints in an area ? I’m sitting at 48.6 lbs with an exo4800 for a 5 day run with a Mathews VXR tied on the back, and wish I could get this rig down to the 44 mark.

Buffalo Creek Outdoors - thanks for the info. that’s close to me when I deduct the camera weight - since I don’t run that equip - (leave the camera stuff to you young guys). I’m hitting the 46.5 lb mark with 5 days worth of food and 3 liters water.
What geographic area in Colorado were you guys in NW? SW? Going for the first time from SC this year. Thanks for the video.

Ear plugs when there is big cats in the area. Not a bright idea.
Hey Caleb - can you address my pack weight question in the recent below comments please ? Thanks
Drones are illegal to use while hunting in Colorado just fyi.

Oh I just re-read it. You’re correct. It actually says you can use them to find game, you just can’t hunt that day or the next if used to find game. Good to know. Happy hunting
