As the kid who moved away, I can promise she misses you just as much. I live in the US and moved from east coast to west coast and I struggled mentally for a few months being away from everyone I knew and loved so I loved when my mom called or messaged because it reminded me I wasn't really alone. You got this!!

I always start listing fall items in July especially ANKLE BOOTS because people start buying them by the end of July for back to school! That really helps combat summer slowdown sales and boosts sales for the next month August.

I’m selling winter items now

I began grieving the moment I heard that my mom’s condition was terminal. It’s 9 years since her passing and at times I still get emotional. I agree, we are forever changed when a parent dies, our perspectives shift up into being present and grateful for each moment, and seeing the beauty of life. Sending you a hug, lots of love and endless blessings!❤ My reselling business is slow too and I’m using the time to enjoy summer. It’s a good break. No guilt. It is what it is. I think this industry just needs to get thru the North American elections and then see how the economy settles. But I’m also selling sweaters and jackets, it’s kinda early but I’m not complaining!

I like to buy really cool or NWT summer clothes that are $3 or less in the summer. I get those listings up and I wait a bit and run summer clearance sales to force sales and move those items. Reselling is my PT job/business, so I like to work my shifts when I'm home. I make good money running those sales.

We have been empty nesters for several years now. (Even the dogs are gone now!) We’ve had some new, young families move in to the neighborhood. I’d be lying if I said I didn’t sometimes feel melancholy seeing the children outside playing in their front yard, with their dog running around, etc. I don’t think that feeling will ever totally leave, but I try to think of this: It is 100% RIGHT for our kids to be gone. It means a GOOD thing. It means they are doing well. (Well, in MOST cases I think) And that’s what we want for them. I hope that helps.

Awwww I agree. Our children having the confidence to move out and try… is a huge success in my books ❤️ it is sad, the end of an era in our life times. I am truly excited for what’s next in our lives as our kids move out and we start doing more of our own things.

Oh honey, it is very hard when they move away, especially for mom's who give up their identities to be the best mom. My kids are all grown, and I have 6 grandkids spread out all over, and I cherish it, but I also loved learning who I am again. Allow yourself time, but look to find what interests you now. The mediumship is a good start. I really enjoy your videos and want you to know you have helped me in my reselling, and I am grateful 🙏🏻 ❤

Awwww that is so true. You make every sacrifice for your kids. It’s like the end of an era. I was like I’m soooo ready for her to be an adult…. 😭😭 I take it back!!! A lot of youtube resellers love to put on a front too..they want to keep the facad that they are doing really well when they aren't...I like channels that show the reality of a job whether small , big or done as a hobby! I am a reseller on a micro scale (as a hobby I list 1 item a day and only keep a closet stock) and it's slow across the board unless you are a really well known reseller:) people are also traveling a lot so they aren't as close to the phone during this time so sales will go up and down!

I was glad to see you today! Took me by surprise when you popped up. I just turned 70 and identify with so much of what you say. Especially missing my kids. I didn't have them until I was in my 30's and now they are in their 30's. 13 years ago I moved with my new husband to the midwest of the U.S. when they were just fully "launching" after college. They both live in Boston area. I totally hate it here and I see them only 2-3 times per year. You made me cry!! Actually I was on the verge of it anyway and you put me over the edge haha. We stay in pretty good touch but sometimes there can be a period of a couple weeks when I don't hear/hear back from one of them. I know they appreciate any and all packages though! Grieving your mom...I'm very sorry for you. It's difficult no matter how you look at it. She'll always be with you. She might even show up in YOU some day! Can't tell you how often I do something and say "I'm turning into Eugenia." (my mother) Sounds like you are handling things pretty well. You're in my thoughts.

I went to visit my daughter in June who lives 15 hours away (it doesn't get easier having them far away) and reentry has been hard! I've had a personal summer slow down with Poshmark, LOL! I just listed today for the first time in July. I really have taken a close look at how dedicated I am to my business and I'm working to pivot and give it less of my drive and attention. Breathe. PS and on KZread... sigh, it's so time consuming and for me, there's little pay off. I don't know if I can stay at it with no engagement.

Its our economy...when people are strapped for cash, and prices spike- they are more conservative w clothes shopping...plus vacations, being outside w nice weather. Maybe in fall will pick up w back to school regular routine.

Kids moving is gut wrenching my only child is moving to college on Sunday. It is a daily cry fest for me . I feel your pain right now. It literally feels like my heart is breaking in half 😩😭😭😭😭😭. Grief is so sneaky it gets you when you least expect it , sending hugs ❤

Our two oldest sons(twins) have been out of the house for 19 years and now have kids of their own. One son lives a mile away so we see two grandkids all the time, but our other son is in the Air Force and stationed 6 hours away. Those three grandkids(triplets) we only get to see once a year and that is really hard. The trip to see them is easy but his job with the Air Force dictates when he has free time. Our youngest son still lives at home at age 25..it is so expensive to live on your own so him and his wife have the upstairs of our house and help with bills.

I have been selling sweaters and jeans for the last week, so it seems like the transition is starting. Yay! Not being a parent, I will never know what you are going through, but I do know that when I moved from Vancouver to Toronto, my dad did not take it well at all. He broke down at the airport and couldn't come in to see me off, so when he got home he wrote me a letter telling me all the things he wanted to say but couldn't. I think it was very cathartic for him, at least I hope it was. You do so much for so many people, and your tribe has got your back! 🥰🥰

This was a relatable video. Life definitely has ups and downs. Sickness, death, and grief sucks and I have been through way too much of both. I so feel you… but glad to hear you are working on getting through. Sales are slow but trying to list something everyday to keep motivated. I feel it will pick up at some point. After listening to your advice last year I decided to cut time spent on my closet this summer dramatically rather than get frustrated over summer slowdown. For me its very real. Around 25-30% decrease in sales. I’m having so much fun not being so stressed. Plus other than linen i barely soured for summer since ROI is so much less. My dog died and my daughter moved away in the last year So hard. Life is a constant process of letting go. I’m glad things turned for you. They did for me too after as about 4 months.

It was so great running into you the other day and having such a good visit. And we didn’t even talk about our slow sales-lol!! ( although I had an awesome June, July has been slow) You are going to miss your kids no matter how long ago they moved out, but it does get easier. Wow, this video was a tear jerker for me. I too lost my mom 11 months ago and I am still trying to adjust even though I am much older than you. Loosing a parent definitely changes you for ever. I kind of withdrew from everything to grieve her loss and even though it will be a year next month since she left us, I still grieve and long to hear hear voice again. I also know the feeling of having your children move away. When my last one was gone it took me a year before I stopped staying up waiting on him to come home. My husband kept reminding me that he wasn't coming. It's all part of life but like you say no one prepares you for losing a parent or tells you how hard it is to get used to not having your children around you daily. In time our hearts heal as we begin the process of acceptance and we can start to move on. Give yourself time, however, and don't rush as we all grieve in different ways. I am glad your video popped up on my feed since it had been a while and it felt good to see a familiar face on my screen. Take care.

Right there with you!!! soooooo slow, im just like you meeting my listing goals one week and the next im bombing it. Im just trying to ebb and flow. I have been redoing my posh room and hanging out with family more so i think im just trying to take that all in as a positive. Also hoping that redoing my posh room will make it more fun and functional. So glad your starting to feel better :)

Definitely been slow!! I just stopped promoted closet. I was finishing up my real estate licensing so I wasn’t doing much so I kept it on till I was a bit consistent again and it’s just not worth it for one or maybe two (or zero) extra sales. It was hard to decide but it really didn’t help. I am sure it will be crickets for a bit as they probably punish you, but I am in a better place to do the work again and am sure it will recover. Thank goodness I don’t rely on it either! Glad you are feeling better. Grief and change are hard and everyone has their own timelines for adjusting. Big changes this year here too between career and my son getting married and moving. Definitely even though he is 45 minutes away it changes and takes getting used to. Family is so spread out these days. My brothers are in Maine so a 7-8 hour drive. 😢

Always appreciate your willingness to share. Sales are very slow this month so far, almost to a halt. I am going to follow your lead and take some time to relax, beach time, grandbaby time etc. I have such a difficult time with being motivated to list when i work fulltime. I try to get a few per evening but sometimes im just too tired. Hope you have a lovely rest of your summer ❤

The only way I have found to combat summer slow down is to list more. It has allowed me to keep my sales consistent. Also shifting to listing more shoes is a good strategy. Shoes are my number 1 category in the summer

My daughter who lives 2.5 hours away in downtown Toronto has an old 18 year old dog. He still goes to work with her everyday. Every time I see him I think this will be the last time but he keeps on going like the ever ready bunny. I'm sorry worried for her. She has a boyfriend now so at least when it happens he will be there. But I know it's going to be devastating 😢 for her. Got my 3rd poshmark sale today. I had eye surgery this morning and this was a nice surprise so I made my hubby stop at mission thrift store in Kingston and I could barely read. I'm an idiot lol.

Not saying that I’m happy sales are slow for you too but it gives me hope that I’m not the only one and they will pick up after summer. Sales are slow for me too! It got slow around may. From previous years it picks up august. Glad this is normal still I’d assume after reselling for 3 years it would only go up. I guess it’s just to hot and people don’t feel like shopping haha.

The grief hit so hard after losing my Mother suddenly. I just realized yesterday that I don’t cry every day now. Maybe I’m coming out the other side too. Sales are really slow and it’s nice to see from all the comments that I’m not alone. Summer slowdown is a thing for sure. Now I just ride it out and do less in my reselling business until I see signs of it picking up again.

Poshfest is in my town Nashville this year. Not looking forward to that. My bins is already slim picking and with every reseller here it will be so crowded. Im really sorry about your Mom My oldest is 11 and I have thought about the time when he will leave and I already struggle with the thought. However I remember how it was for me and it was the best and most exciting time in my life so I know I will be so sad but I also want to make sure I let him go and hopefully share that excitement of his journey.

It's hard our daughter was 7 hours away for college then she went from Florida to Washington DC . That was really tough lots of tears that was 20 years ago. Now she lives three hours away with two cute grandchildren. You will get through it. I know what you are going through. Sales are slow for me. ebay better than Posh. Posh seems to really be pushing the promoted listings . I am sorry about your Mom.
