Good morning Mary Ellen: So good to see you back. I hope you and Jim had a great holiday with family. I love the new haircut length. It is quite becoming on your beautiful face. Finally, we have some news on my brother Tim. Poor guy is still not walking well and in a lot of discomfort. We were hoping for a better diagnosis but it turns out to be a brain tumor. It is benign but must be checked every 6 months by MRI. To say that I was devastated is beyond words. I am graciously asking for prayers at this time. I know he is frightened and I have been researching for days about this type of tumor. Many blessings to you and I always love your favorites because they are so practical. 😎❤️💄Kathy

Dear Kathy, Sorry to hear that your brother Tim has a brain tumor. It’s very hard to see our loved ones suffer. Praying for him and the doctors caring for him that he will not be in pain and that God will comfort him and heal him. After a sickness pause, I’m getting updated in the videos I hadn’t seen or don’t remember. U hav no idea, dear Mary Ellen, how much u hav influenced me in many positive, good ways, and I’m grateful for that. My hair is already all white. I stopped dying it in between (parts of it) May to June and it’s almost all white, except a few streaks of dark hair. I’m still not too used to it, cause my mind is set to my darker hair. Sometimes I don’t like it, but I tell myself “c’mon, María Elena, u are 82 years old… u r not supposed to hav dark hair, so deal with it”… and I’m trying… white hair is so much harder to manage, at least mine. It’s messy, wiry, etc., but I’ll deal w/it. I’d like to share something that made me very happy a week ago: I was going thru what I thought about of depression and my doctor decided that I should see a psychiatrist to talk some things over… well, psychiatrist are usually very down to earth, no nonsense people… what made me happy was that he said, after some tests, that in his opinion I wasn’t depressed, but anxious, and prescribed something for it that has worked wonders, but what really made me happy was that in the course of our conversations (two visits) he mentioned that he believes in God and life everlasting! And that is rare in this type of specialist, at least in the one I met back in Cuba when I lost my youngest daughter… I was really happy for many reasons that I don’t think I’d like to make public, but unknowingly he strengthened my faith. Again, thank u for all u share with us, and I’ll try to keep myself updated and read the ones I might hav lost. May God bless u and keep ni and yours safe and well!

Thank you, Mary Ellen, for your kind answer. I’m already feeling much better, though it’s been a change cause my group of friends since childhood that we use to meet every Saturday or Sunday for dinner, or lunch and talk, make jokes… now all are maybe a couple or three years older and are sheltering in their homes, with husband, grandkids, great granddaughters, etc. Covid and the pandemic changed everybody’s life, and adjust to a new one. So I’ve found myself liking staying in the house more, reading, texting, watching movies on Netflix, and hopefully, if my knee’s arthritis allows it, going back to the elderly’s gym classes at my clinic (over 65 years and on Medicare)… so I’m fine, getting interested in living actively, and grateful that God has keep my mind working fine (sometimes I’m a little forgetful, but not often) and interested in handling my money judiciously, etc. And yes, taking care of my white hair, and my body and soul. Let me see if I can include a new selfie w/my totally white hair…

I love your solution to the lost remote! And that blanket I can just see me getting all cozy beneath it because I’m always cold, and I like to have lots of warm things on me when I sleep. And I am so glad you found that earring. That is such a neat lamp. I end up having to try to find my phone and take it with me to go to the bathroom. I’m still trying to find the perfect drinking bottle. I have one that I absolutely love but it’s years old and it’s plastic and now I’m worried that it’s going to be leaching plastic into my body. I bought velcro stick-ons for the remote and stuck it on the edge of the headboard. Haven't lost it since.

One thing I have noticed that has helped my thinning hair is using a scalp massager brush, not expensive, I got mine on Amazon. I love my unhide throw, I bet the blanket is wonderful, I also love Barefoot Dreams products, they are pricey but they have an outlet store on their website and you can find really good deals. I’m very happy with my skin and I’m fine leaving the house without makeup, but I wish I could find a product that would fade my dark spots, they are stubborn, lol. I've been in such a funk since losing my Mom, listening to your calm, warm, gentle spirit warms my heart. You're so much like her. Thank you! While traveling to see family, someone at the airport reached into my bag and stole my "wallet." Laugh was on them, I had repurposed a checkbook style wallet to hold my makeup brushes because it zipped all the way around and was so convenient to see which brush I was reaching for. Imagine their disappointment! No money for them, just all of my favorite brushes. I'd love to be entered for the brushes. Hi MaryEllen, love your hair, it looks so fresh and healthy. My mom use to sit and brush my hair for 20 or 30 minutes, it was a sure way that I would sit still. I use less makeup as I get older, it just looks better with less to me.

So good to have you back! I'm 65 now and until I was about 50 I never used a brush for my make up I only used what the make up came with to apply it. Sometimes I sit there and wonder how that was possible.😂 I wish I was like you and get along with less make up. I was born blonde and stayed that way and God gave me nearly invisible eyebrows and practically white eyelashes. I get my eyebrows using Just for Men for Beards and Mustaches.😂 If I ever move to a place where nobody knows me I will never wear make up again!

I love history and antiques and smiled when you said "chifferobe" because very few people use or even know that term or what it is. So of course, now I want to see it😉 I have that blanket - or one very similar. It's white and sherpa on one side and soft velour on the other. I think I got it at Target. But these days I stay cold, so I have it on my bed under my comforter and it keeps me warm (we're low 40's at night, which seems balmy compared to -30!). Great to see you today ! Happy Winter to you, Maryellen! I'm not a lover of winter so I'm happy that now that I live in the Austin area I don't have to deal with winter. There have been a few days that have been in the 50s and the Austinites are dressed like it is 50 below. For the most part, it has been great 60s and 70's with a few days of '80s sprinkled in. I guess I have also been loving blushes because at last count I added 16 to my already large collection. I was gifted a few sets and of course, I gifted myself too. I saw Profusion blushes being used by a KZreadr and I have to say for the prices they are the best. I have been going to buy BK brushes for quite some time but I just never get around to it.

Such a blessing for a positive video among so much negativity on YT. Your contests are so generous & fun. Brush. It will be fun to see how people use the word. Brush as in weeds, as in hairbrush, toothbrush, etc.💜.

Hi Mary Ellen, I missed you! I started watching, after 3 years,KZread again after going thru a major loss of my mother and moving. I guess I’d say I was in a big slump! Anyway I am back watching you. You look so good and does Jim still sing? I have been seeing quite a few people on KZread talking about these brushes. I no longer use eye brushes but I would love to try at least one brush or all of the face brushes soon. I go without powdered eyeshadow and will use eye sticks or cream shadows and use my finger to apply. Most the time I don’t use anything on my eyes. Hi MaryEllen. Seeing you back feels like reconnecting with an old friend. Your complexion is so beautiful no makeup is needed. It is so freeing not to have to wear foundation or a ton of makeup. I'm sure it's healthier for your skin also. Did you know about silicone caps for metal straws? They have them in sets on Amazon for around $5.00. I have some metal straws and I didn't like the feel of the metal when I sipped through them so I bought some. It is much more pleasant to use the silicone caps. I love your hair cut and color. Hi MaryEllen! Re the blanket, I have an old Dennis Basso faux fur coat and I put it on my bed and my cat sleeps on it all the time lol! I dont BRUSH her often enough but she doesnt like it lol! Had a date on my b'day and then the guy dropped by, then called again. Not going out w/him again, he's what I call an around the corner guy, always looking for someone better, younger, prettier around the corner, this city is full of those kind of men. We escaped te Cali flooding but my downstairs business renter neighbor did not. Still no heat or repairs but finally found an atty for the lawsuit, hooray. You know, I like my skin now better than I have in the past, but I still like to use a tinted moisturizer at times, and my favorite way to apply it is to use a brush. I brush it in and then tap, tap, tap! I'm glad to hear you're doing better well. You look great!

Wonderful to see you again. I really enjoy your videos…they are just so down to earth and I’ve used some of your tips along the way. I agree that Lisa J’s brushes are fantastic. I have many of them but my favorite brush is her 106 brush. It’s a great multitasker.

Good morning Mary Ellen;)!!!! SO HAPPY you liked the cookies(plus the bonus box;). (I think God did that as an extra blessing). Great idea with the remote. I'm thinking the same only with velcro tape(my dog LOVES to chew remotes). I've lost several. She's a beautiful girl, but gets into things not okay. The right brush does make a difference. Some of my old brushes feel like they could scrub the floor. 😆. You don't need makeup. Looking great. I need to get that hair product. Thanks for mentioning it. Love the claw bathtub. I like when brushes are sold separately. I never use all brushes in a set. Also, I think built bar is free shipping through January 31.
