Hi Mary Ellen…so sorry that Jim is dealing with this … I’m 72 and was diagnosed with spinal stenosis about 16 years ago…it was the most painful experience… I was terrified of the thought of back surgery but the ongoing pain was debilitating as well… mine was at the L4 & L5 level… regardless I decided to go for it and it was the BEST decision for me… it turned out to be a simple procedure that was performed as a day surgery and the healing process went by smoothly and quickly for me… I had an excellent surgeon as well… It changed my life and I’m so glad I had it done…I’m walking, swimming, exercising and lead an active lifestyle….sending healing thoughts and prayers his way!

MaryEllen I love you so much!!! Tears filled my eyes and heart at the end knowing all you and Jim are facing and decisions to be made. I can’t tell you how many times I hear myself saying it’s all good, either to myself or to others. There is always something to be grateful for and I never tire of hearing and being reminded of it. I never want to become a negative Nellie, of become filled with self pity. Hello ME - you know I love your videos. I splurge on a soap for laundry, too, but I never tried this! You are so kind it gives me pleasure to watch your videos. I especially love your outtakes! Never tried Merit. I did just get the Blessed Palette and I absolutely love it and I held out because I didn't think those colors would look good on me. My daughter has her surgery March 5th. I’m a Built Puff convert-I still have some of the Bars in the fridge, but I have them mixed up in a little tote, so I just grab and put one in my lunch for work. Once in a while, I think I found a stale one, but it ends up being a Bar! They just announced that strawberry milk chocolate, but I just have so many from stocking up during their big sale! I will pray for Jim as he considers his choices and possible surgery🙏🏻❤️❤️❤️

I got 2 pairs of cashmere socks for Christmas that I also love. I didn't know I could get so excited about socks. They are just about the only socks I've worn since then. Very warm! If my feet are cold, I'm cold everywhere. I wash and dry mine the same way you do. They dry overnight. I sewed a white dot onto the toe of each sock so I wouldn't get them mixed up with my other black socks. So fun to have a new favorite thing! Take care.

Sending prayers for JIm. I have spinal stenosis too and sometimes when walking my leg gives way and I almost go down. I was told by the surgeon that with all my health problems which are many I'm not a good candidate for surgery. I live with pain everyday. If my ins covered it I'd try acupuncture. Mary Ellen, my husband had the same as Num. he did not choose surgery but had a spinal simulator put in his back 6 months ago. It took some adjustment but has turned out to be a blessing. He is over 80 so terrified of surgery. His pain is about 95 percent better and very mobile to what he was. His bless and good thoughts coming your way.

Hi my Friend, tell Jim to hang in there until he makes a decision. You know I’m thinking and praying for him. I always use those drawstring gift bags. In fact this Christmas I think I used them for 90% of my gifts and people like that because they can reuse them. However I didn’t order them from QVC. I have noticed that QVC’s prices seem to be going up. Tim went for his liver biopsy last Thursday and we will be seeing the doctor this coming Thursday to see where we’re going from here. Hi MaryEllen! Your Quince gloves are lovely and luxurious. That’s great Walmart will deliver groceries to you. Amazing that your eyes didn’t change in three years! Very surprising about your comments being missing! Glad you checked it to figure out the problem. Prayers for Jim. I have spinal stenosis and that’s what I had surgery for. It’s taken seven months for me to feel better. However, I still have pain when I do too much or walk too much. I begin to walk bent over with pain and know it is time to sit and relax. My pain is less than before surgery, but still aggravating. I hope eventually the pain will go away completely. Jim does have a lot to think about. The physical therapy in the hospital learning to walk again was intense. The first time I stood I couldn’t feel me feet on the floor. I thought I’d never walk again. Fair warning about Quince. Some clothing runs small. I bought a linen shirt when Quince started and it fit perfectly, just a little loose which I like in linen. I got a gift certificate for Christmas and repurchased the same shirt and it was almost 2 inches smaller across the back.

Happy Monday, MaryEllen! I was so very lazy yesterday I never even watched KZread. You reminded me that I really do need to make an eye appointment very soon. I have had so many appointments of late I haven't wanted to add to it. I had to laugh when you talked about Buff City Soap, I had never heard of them until we moved to Texas. I haven't gone into any of their stores because I'm addicted to shower gel and I'm sure that store would make me buy more. I didn't know they sold laundry detergent so now I'm going to make it my business to go to the store that isn't far from my house. I'm so sorry Jim has to make decisions about his health. My mother had spinal stenosis and although she suffered she refused to have the surgery. I think it would have given her relief but that wasn't the path she followed. Thank you Mary Ellen for addressing the use of the Omnilux mask use for someone with AFIB. I too have AFIB and no longer use anything with microcurrents, etc. but I was thinking about giving the Omnilux mask with LED lights a try one of these days. Well, now I know how much I've grown to trust your opinion. I've seen the Quince ads so many times but now that they've had the Mary Ellen seal of approval I'm going to check them out !! No judgement on the eye doctor thing-- if you knew how long i went between mammograms you would fall over! But I had one this year and all was well, thank God!! Sometime we nurses self evaluate and go a little longer than is prudent with checking on some things It was a lovely Sunday breakfast with my coffee and your video. Take care!!!

Thank you again, Mary Ellen for the advice about the red light therapy use with a pacemaker. I know that microcurrents are a big no-no, but glad that red light therapy isn't contraindicated. My EP Cardio didn't think it would be an issue, but nice to hear it from someone who actually has a pacemaker. I'm so sorry about your husband. How awful to be in pain. I understand. ❤🙏❤️

Hi MaryEllen!! I have several pairs of gloves including a pair of red lambskin ones to go w/my red leather jacket, it's only been cold enough here to wear them once this year, groan. Showed my very inexpensive purple Easter hat to E & a friend of his, they thought it was funny. Hey MaryEllen! The Merit products look great on you. You had a lot of nice products in this video. I wear knee socks all winter long but I doubt I can afford cashmere. I’ll look. I was shocked last video when I saw comments were turned off. I didn’t know anything else to do but contact you! Let’s hope utube has it together now, for a while anyway. Sometimes I go to make a comment and there’s no place for me to comment, even though there’s other comments showing. That may just be my iPad about to tear up. I can turn it off then it works when I turn it back on.🤷‍♀️ I’m so sorry to hear about Jim’s back. God is Good and He will guide him to make the best decision. I will be praying, as always. Oh, I set a *lot* of store by properly wrapping a present in a box with ribbons and a bow! And we hold onto a lot of wrapping paper to reuse. We have a box of Christmas paper that's one for the ages! My heart goes out to Jim. I have a lot of spinal stenosis and I'm having mobility issues. I believe the answer is weight loss and exercise, so why don't I get after it?

You would have loved the way I use to wrap my presents. Instead of bows, I used ornaments (usually handmade). I'm not sure if I got lazy, or having 10 grandsons between Jim and I had made me change my ways, lol. I still have some beautiful Christmas paper stored upstairs. I am so glad to see you Nic!! Definitely missed you. All of Jim's surgeries/procedures are on hold for now. He's been making some progress in ambulation, and his forehead issue is stable. You are right, he will make the right decision. Blessings, and love all the way across the pond..MaryEllen

You are so fortunate to have no dry eye. I have RA and Sjogrens so horrible dry eye. I have to be careful with retinol. Shame insurance companies, at least mine will not pay for the good meds for dry eye. Great video as always...Love Tamera as well.

Hi Cuz, So sorry I haven't responded for a couple of weeks. I have been so busy, and catching your videos here and there. I have started by retirement process...it's bittersweet for me. I actually took today off to get somethings together. It was an inservice day, so I didn't have to worry about no subs for students. (This is a real issue in all schools.). And...I haven't had a minute of boredom. When my grandson was home from college for Christmas break he was able to sub. He loved it. As always I am praying for both you and Jim, we had to bite the bullet and build a ramp on the front of the house, I had some health problems, left by ambulance, and came home by ambulance, lol, and we did not have the ramp so after all of that and with David's age and mine too we figured we might as well, also I love my Walmart+, we have had it for 3 years, I know this because they sent me a renewal notice yesterday with a Congratulations I have been a member for 3 years, I told David, since it was an anniversary they should be giving me a gift instead of a bill, lol!

Oh my, to leave by ambulance and return home by ambulance you must have been really sick, Susan. I sure hope you are doing much better. We have 7 steps off the front porch, and 6 out the back door. My son-in-law, and 2 grown grandsons carry him up, and down the steps as he is sitting in a wheelchair. We are planning to get a ramp soon. It's hard finding someone to build it, who knows the correct slope, and turns. Hurray for Walmart+!! Yes, they should have given you a gift!! Love you, my beautiful KZread sister. Hi MaryEllen, I sympathize with Jim . I also have spinal stenosis and it’s awful. I was 5’9” my entire life but I am now 5’4”. My husband has made so many changes around the house for me. Everything from getting me a countertop microwave. The other one in our kitchen is above the stove and I just cannot reach it. Mostly it’s just moving things down to my level. I am interested in the surgery h has been talked to about. I may shoot you a message to ask about it. The thing that bothers me most is neuropathy. It is so painful and I have to take oxy pain pills for it. Anyway, thank you for your videos. My day is just brightened when I see your beautiful face pop up. Please tell Jim I am praying for him. I really believe the Lord will help him make the right decision with his health options. I love you girl, take care.

Always sweet to see your videos. I know you’re grateful for your great eye health. I’m 77 almost 78 & have macular degeneration & glaucoma. Fortunately, the glaucoma was diagnosed at a very early stage & I put eye drops in every night. We never know what’s next, but like you with God in my life, it’s all good❤️❤️

I have a few sweaters from Quince and I love them. I have an issue though with moths so I have to be very careful of how I store them. I have a special shampoo for laundering (The Laundress Wool and Cashmere Shampoo) for my sweaters. I hope your Jim will be fine. Certainly sending prayers your way.
