That was a big point I took away from pascal that I never thought of. You already have to be in good condition to play 30+ minutes, but to then also run around screens for the duration of that 30 mins is wild.

@@offwhitekicks9038 The thing you don't understand is that it's not only a matter of being able to run... most players can run... but he needs to run like crazy all game long and not run out of breath at all cause if you're out of breath even a little then there is no way in hell the shot is going in... that's what Pascal means by conditioning... And yes, Steph's conditioning is ridiculous... everyone is talking about how superhuman prime Lebron was or Giannis being so strong... Steph has a different kind of athleticism which is stamina and it's just as important if not even more important for an athlete and Steph has BY FAR the most stamina in the whole league... and to be fair though the fact that he weighs only 185-190lbs or something like that helps a lot... the lighter you are the more you can run... which is why Steph and CP3 can still play to this day in such high pace while Bron while being almost the same age as CP3 can't run anymore because he weighs 240lbs... he needs to slim down asap... he'll be less strong but the way he is now he simply can't play at a high pace at all...

They don't play like any other team if you stay at one position and don't keep making extra pass you aint fitting with the team. nobody NOBODY in the warriors holds the ball at all literally there is no ball hog and almost everybody is a defender in that team. One of the best player developing organization. I have never seen so many talent develop around any other superstar except curry. Steve kerrs triangle offense really makes them fun to watch as they dont have a cheat code like KD who is a guaranteed bucket.

Steph’s playmaking is severely underrated. People who don’t consistently watch the warriors game look at the assists and think he’s an average playmaker, but in reality he’s probably better than dray. The only reason Dray gets more praise for his play making is because that’s the only thing he can really do the offensive end while Curry has his insane shooting. For eg, Steph sets a pick and roll with dray and after he draws in two defenders he passes it off a driving dray which forces a defender to leave his man and switch to him. This allows dray and easy pass and assist to a wide open player. Another example, is when Steph drives to the rim, 2 or three players get on him and he passes to a wide open man on the perimeter. However, cause of kerr’s system of sharing the ball to get better looks, the wide open player usually does another pass to the corner (usually an easier shot) after they shot fake and draw another defender onto them, leaving the corner man completely open with the easiest three. Basically what I’m saying is Steph’s playmaking is underrated cause, that extra pass to the wide open corner three doesn’t show up as an assist for Steph on the stat sheet, and that’s what most people look at to judge a players playmaking skill

I feel like the Warriors culture is a lot to it . Everyone knows their role on the Warriors it seem. They make the right plays and the extra pass to the open shooter. Look at the Lakers, they have hall of famers on the team and no one wants to know their role. Ego and not being able to learn and do what's best for the team takes putting ego aside. There a pay off playing with Steph I'm so many ways. Look at Gary jr. Or Poole's. Let them be on the Lakers I don't think they would of had the chance to really show their worth. Because even when he doesn't play they still win games. Booker great but Klay Thompson is a huge player for Golden State and the fact that they are winning so many games without him just proves by far who the better team is. It's night and day. @@malcolmphillips9010 you say give credit where it’s due, but you never mentioned anything about the suns beating the warriors on Tuesday without Booker in the second half. You say Booker is great, but Klay is “a huge player for GS.” You realize Booker is easily the best scorer on his team and probably the best player. Klay is neither of those. Booker is better than Klay at this point. Stop trying to make it seem like klay is more impactful. Also, bringing up iggy is a joke right? He is almost 38 and doesn’t play big minutes anymore. He really isn’t all that impactful anymore. You are going off his name/reputation at this point Also, you obviously are expecting Klay to be back at his normal level. That’s a stretch to expect him to be as impactful defensively as he’s always been after not playing since mid 2019 with two serious lower body injuries in a row. Therefore, GS winning a lot right now doesn’t prove they are the better team. The warriors have had one of the easiest strength of schedules so far this year, and it helps when they play good teams that don’t have their best player like last night against the suns. Also, have you considered Monty only said the warriors are the team the suns want to be because he doesn’t want his players thinking they have arrived after their finals appearance last year? He doesn’t want complacency. He wants improvement, which goes for literally any team at this point in the season. Idc what your record is in December, you need to keep working towards being your best in April-June. The warriors know this, which is why they don’t get complacent thinking they have the championship secured this year just because they have the best record now

Curry suffocates opponents. He literally runs them into exhaustion. Curry's not an explosive player which of course he knows. So, what did he do? He masterfully weaponized his cardio. He's playing a marathon game while others are sprinting and Curry just keeps tapping out that consistent pace all game making defenders wilt. It's a brilliant strategy. And yes, it certainly helps that he's the greatest shooter to ever play the game which means defenders literally cannot give him airspace so they have no choice BUT to follow everything he does which plays right into his hand. If Danny Green didn't hit Klay in the air in Game 5 and cause the initial tweak and then finish him off with a dirty foul in game 6 who knows what could have happened.

Klay missed the final minutes of gm 2, missed all gm 3 when Curry went crazy but wasn't enough, Durant played exactly 1 qtr, the 1st qtr of gm 5 to be exact and you could see the dominance of a healthy warriors with just that quarter

What makes Curry tough to guard is his range and that he's constantly moving, so he's always a threat. I think PHX knows how to deal with him though. Even though they lost last night, Curry still didnt have one of his usual explosive nights where he scored 40+ like he does against the other teams.

Curry could have easily had 40 plus points against them. I'm convinced y'all just look at box scores and what media platforms say. If you watch the games, you'll see Curry was missing shots he usually makes. He's an excellent finisher and missed a few lay ups. Also had some looks from the perimeter, that's usually cash. He shot like 50 something percent from 3 but was missing shots around the rim that he usually makes. How Kerr is subbing him in and out of games isn't putting him in the best position neither. The Sun's defense is good but they weren't doing anything that would make me say that they know how to deal with him. It's like Steph has to have 82 perfect games. Smh, he still played well last night by the way.

He didn’t take a lot of shots. To be honest he hasn’t been taking a lot shots all year because the supporting cast are playing a lot better than last year. He could’ve gotten 40 easily.

Curry just missed some shots he usually makes and let his team score while the Sun focused on him. Teams also won’t be able to focus Curry like normal once Klay comes back, Siakam basically said as much, the Raptors game-plan was just to storm Curry once Klay went down.

They’ve just started noticing last year because without klay and kd teams can focus on him way more but they were still doing it when kd was there. I’ve always said that ateph was the best on Goldenstate when kd was there but I wouldn’t be mad if someone thought kd was. My whole thing is if your reasoning was because kd won fmvp both years that’s what irritates me. Tyrone lue said that Steph was the most dangerous player on Goldenstate in those finals even when kd was there and he also talked about how he felt like they did a good job of limiting Steph to a certain amount of shots in one of those games. Perkins even said that in 2018 they still had the same mindset. In game 3 waned kd went off and Steph wasn’t playing good their game plan was to leave iggy open and double Steph. From the 11 minutes that kd played in the 2019 finals even the raptors were focusing more on Steph yet people still think kd is better just because he got fmvp

What they forgot to mention when talking about amazing conditioning,a topic which Pascal is eminently qualified to discuss,is Fred Vanvleet.Granted the strategy wouldn't have been as effective with a healthy KD,but Freddie was on his hip and in his pocket so much,he managed to get rent free accommodation in Steph's head, much like Marc Gasol did with Embiid. It would in fact have been a janky defensive scheme without Freddie's defensive skills, basketball IQ,but mostly, physical conditioning on a par with Steph Curry. That's why he got a vote for finals MVP,and probably deserved more.

The scary thing about conditioning and shooting being the main weapons is that it'll only get better over time. You see this with LeBron as well with basketball IQ. Athleticism will fade over time, but the more shots you put up, the more cumulative information you'll have about shooting. The more you run and condition yourself, the easier it gets over time (as long as you keep it up consistently).

Pick him up at half court stop letting him get the ball without someone in his face from the first step over half court. That's how you slow him down by not giving him uncontested looks no matter what from the second he steps over half court. Get the hint yet why more teams don't do it is beyond me. That's y Jordan is the Goat because he would do that against top players and shooters

@3:05 and you did.... game 6 klay was cooking you guys up and scoring 1 point per minute for 30 minutes, shooting 67% from 2 AND 3 and being 100% from the foul line. then, a player with 1 rebound 3 assists a turnover a foul and 0 points in 20 minutes takes out thompson on an open lane dunk.... (not claiming it was on purpose cuz that would be crazy..... ) but if it wasnt for cousins tearing a quad, klay doing the split after a foul in game....2, looneys colorbone being broken game...2 or 3, durant having an unfortunate self caused injury and klay being taken out..... would toronto even get a game 6? warriors woulda gone 4-0 4-1 if healthy... but they had over 9 injuries in the playoffs including 4 or 5 during this exact series of which 3 were caused by toronto players.
