What Really Happened with u/YAYVIDEOGAMES?

Ойын-сауық

In 2010, a Reddit user by the name of YAYVIDEOGAMES shook the Internet with a very ominous outburst that left Redditors completely dumbfounded. Since then, the mystery has simply faded into obscure Internet history without ever really being investigated. Tonight, we’re going to take a deeper look into what exactly it was that happened, and what some possible explanations could be.

I really get Lyndon’s pain and in the words “I find the movie funny” and I sooo get it. @camilovazquez8156 damn man, I feel for you deeply. I can’t imagine, but just thinking about how you must be feeling sends shivers down my spine. I’m always reminded of what David Foster Wallace(an author who killed himself) said about suicide: A person who tries to kill himself doesn’t do so out of quote ‘hopelessness’ or any abstract conviction that life’s assets and debits do not square. And surely not because death seems suddenly appealing. The person in whom Its invisible agony reaches a certain unendurable level will kill herself the same way a trapped person will eventually jump from the window of a burning high-rise. Make no mistake about people who leap from burning windows. Their terror of falling from a great height is still just as great as it would be for you or me standing speculatively at the same window just checking out the view; i.e. the fear of falling remains a constant. The variable here is the other terror, the fire’s flames: when the flames get close enough, falling to death becomes the slightly less terrible of two terrors. It’s not desiring the fall; it’s terror of the flames. And yet nobody down on the sidewalk, looking up and yelling ‘Don’t!’ and ‘Hang on!’, can understand the jump. Not really. You’d have to have personally been trapped and felt flames to really understand a terror way beyond falling.” In essence one from the ground can make speculations and feel giddy at their “knowledgeable” conclusions, but it’s only the person in that situation who knows what it feels like. But I hope you do better, be brave and a better time will come.

I know this is an old video but I can provide some personal insight to what happened here. he said he was taking gabapentin and pregabalin (lyrica), and he wanted to stop taking them. The withdrawals of these medications can be extremely intense, the symptoms are very similar to alcohol withdrawal, and in severe cases pregabalin withdrawal can cause delirium and hallucinations. I’ve been prescribed lyrica before, I took it for about 2 years and I stopped taking it 6 months ago cold turkey, which is very unsafe as it results in worse withdrawal symptoms. I’d had hallucinations a few times during this time, and I still have symptoms to this day. Which match the symptoms he describes, worsened pain, delirium, restless leg syndrome, insomnia, etc... If he already was in a fragile mental state, the lyrica withdrawal could have easily pushed him over the edge. Lyrica is often prescribed for chronic fatigue syndrome, CFS and Lyrica withdrawal have similarities between whats going on in the brain. They both cause a state of increased glutamate, calcium and oxidative stress in the brain, all this could have easily combined to cause an extreme mental breakdown. Anti-psychotic’s pharmacology wouldn’t have helped these symptoms at all.

I tried doing this with Paxil and, while I did not experience any delirium or hallucinations, I can attest to horrible side effects from it. I ended up just having to get back on my meds.

But you cannot rely on luck to save your ass every time. (What happened: I ended up in a massive rut due to issues and didn’t manage to leave the house for months. That includes going to the docs for prescriptions. Big oof.)

If you've ever known anyone close to you with schizophrenia or a similar psychosis, this is all too real. I could see it instantly, especially with the handwritten note, which I've seen enough of before: it isn't just a movie trope. Those other accounts he's talking to aren't "him". They are "other people". It's horrific to see it all laid out like this. He probably doesn't even remember having created those accounts, and when he's not having an episode and is back in his right mind, he would assume those accounts are other strange people (if you showed him the messages). This one was creepy for me in a different way. I hope the dude is ok, I feel so bad for him. It's such a horrific and debilitating disease.

Stayed in my room for two days counting every object I saw over and over and over again until my voice was gone. It's horrible, it's like being stuck in the back of your body, and if it was anything like what Lyndon went through I wish him the best rest he could ever get now that he's passed. Comments • 22,365 Add a public comment... Pinned by dirtydog dirtydog I made a pinned comment in 2017 calmly pointing out the historical inaccuracies in this clip. Today KZread informed me they had a complaint and have deleted the comment for 'breaching community guidelines'. They didn't elaborate. The comment had tens of thousands of likes and hundreds of replies. This is very disappointing. It seems someone only wants one narrative to be heard. There was absolutely nothing hateful, racist, anti-semitic or anything like that. I would never post anything of that nature. So I can only assume my post was deleted because it offered a dissenting opinion that someone doesn't approve of. While I'm here, you may be interested to know a few things about the high view count, when most of my videos have far fewer. The vast majority have come from it being recommended by KZread. It blew up in 2017 and went from 0 to 6.5 million in a few weeks. Then KZread put an age restriction on it and the views dried up. Then in the last week or so it's taken off again and is now 9 million. Why are they recommending it to so many people? Finally, thousands of people keep asking what the name of the film is. Please look in the description, it's right there. It's a film called Habermann and there's a link to the full info. 1 day ago11K

Edit: I found out that unfortunately he committed suicide. I hope that he is finally at rest and that his family is at peace with his death. My condolences to those who knew, cherished, and loved him. To me, I think he suffers from delirium. Delirium can show up in younger children, especially if they were unwell. The fevers he would frequently get as a child most likely inflicted a permanent state of delirium on his still-developing brain. The fact that he was overly medicated didn't help that either, since common pain relief medication and sleep medication are known to worsen Delirium, especially combined. It's possible that he has Mixed Delirium, since he shows signs of not only Hyperactive Delirium but also Hypoactive Delirium. Hallucinations, restlessness, agitation, seeming to be in a daze, rambling or nonsense speech, disorientation, and disturbed sleep habits, are all symptoms and signs of Mixed Delirium. It seems to be a very severe case, and the chronic pain he's experiencing certainly doesn't help. There are treatments for Delirium, but unfortunately there is no solid way of treatment and it seems to only lessen the side effects of delirium.

For those who aren't familiar, "Chronic fatigue" is a misleadingly benign name for the condition. Sufferers are essentially trapped inside their own bodies, unable to move or get up, barely walk across the room, have lost all will to do or enjoy anything, they're trapped in that state you're in when you just wake up and are too groggy to do anything. They're not 'depressed', they're not 'lazy', they're literally just incapable of doing anything they want to do as if there is a force holding the pause button on their lives. It's a really horrific way to live. Only marginally better than being a coma patient. Only some sufferers recover. That's what the other poster meant by "How do i get out of this hole"

Update: YAYVIDEOGAMES (his real name is Lyndon) committed suicide a while back. R.I.P. Edit: Some people were asking what he was diagnosed with so instead of constantly replying to everyone individually, I’ll just say it here. Lyndon struggled with chronic fatigue syndrome, he had a nasal congestion issue, and even a bacterial infection inside his skull. Which I believe led to him having depression. All of these were hard to manage for him- so I believe that is what made him do what he did Edit 2: For all the people saying there is no proof and that it’s fake, it was confirmed on r/YayVideoGames that he died. His father posted pictures about it, and the mods confirmed it. The father posted about Lyndon’s death and discussed how it was very emotional for him. Please stop saying it’s fake - it’s outright insensitive and disrespectful

Personally I think its more likely that it's a combination of schizophrenia and the chronic fatigue syndrome. I dont have it, but I can say from personal experience (a p bad case of idiopathic hypersomnia) that serious fatigue can make you see some crazy shit. I used to be practically followed by Panthers until I was put on meds. (Not for hallucinations, for the sleep disorder). Add that to constant, non-stop, intense pain and you'll get some pretty vivid hallucinations. However, the reality shift isn't something I've heard of with CFS, therefore, schizophrenia. It's possible it's also bipolar disorder, or some sort of dissociative disorder. I sorta doubt bipolar disorder because it doesnt seem like he's cycling at all, nor does any of this seem like a manic/depressive episode. But a dissociative disorder could be it.

For those wondering what the actual comment means, Ubisoft had a Digital Rights Management (DRM) scheme where the DRM had to be on all the time to validate you bought the copy legally. This was described as "always-on" DRM, and was hated by the gaming community because it meant you had to have a constant Internet connection, if it went down you couldn't play the game, even if it was single-player. Ubisoft then started using Steamworks, a DRM by Valve that was not always-on (although I believe they would go back to one that was, much to this guy's dismay I'm sure). Hence, "Ubisoft goes steamworks bye bye, always on DRM". He could have cleaned up the grammar, but it's not a nonsensical statement. It feels like episode happened during the discussion of Oblivion, and due to the cocktail of drugs he was on, got some kind of immense satisfaction out of repeating this phrase over and over, whether it be typing it out or writing it down. Same with all the other repetitive actions, it was probably a joke or phrase that elicited positive feelings for some reason and he felt compelled to repeat it over and over.

This is actually not uncommon among some people with metal illness and victims of child abuse. Basically confrontation is so upsetting of even terrifying that it can make things like this the only way you brain knows how to deal with the situation. @Jon Doe It is pretty common for suicidal people to percieve the act as a way to find peace, or something similar. The fact that he wished for peace that bad meant that he probably wasn't okay with the state he was in during his daily life, and wanted a way out. The poetic nature he saw in suicide might have come from that. Generally, it was also stated by his friends that he was very interested in artistic topics so I wouldn't be surprised if he saw suicide in an artistic, metaphorical way. When someone decides to commit suicide, it means they have already excluded every other option and are sure that would lead to the best outcome. But because of our biological nature as humans we are afraid of death, and pretty often we use meaning and ideas to "block out" that fear. I apologize if it isn't a good explanation, but what I mean is that in that situation because we are biologically terrified of suicide, but our brains have already decided that's the choice with the best outcome, we amplify existing ideas in our minds that would "excuse" the act so that we don't feel as afraid. Sorry for the long comment, I'm also very passionate about the topic being that I struggle with it myself. Hope you have a good day :)

I went to school with a girl who had mini strokes and seizures due to a brain injury. When she started puberty she became schizophrenic, suffered delusions and mania. They would bring her to study hall to read books and attempt to socialize her. Before they took her completely out of school at 16 she would write down the same 5-10 phrases on paper over and over. She wouldnt let the social worker take her papers and would get very upset if she was interrupted. These episodes would last hours sometimes and she would randomly snap out of it like nothing happened and be able to engage in a completely normal conversation. Really sad. Last i heard shes heavily sedated at a mental hospital somewhere in the mountains.

This story is just one of so, so many. Someone finally found a way to reach out to people who might just differ from the reality we experience here in melb, australia.. I'm not sure of what happens out in the real world but here the doctors are not actually helping us. Before they even recommend speaking to any sort of psychotherapists the general practitioners that are 'free' will prescribe any number of mental health altering pills without any repurcussion or consequence to them. The angrier I got at this injustice the more they prescribed. The more I protested my insanity the more they sent police to my house and then forced me back on these drugs. Getting flashlights shone in your eyes and people handling you and forcing an injection in your arm against your will, all the while being dragged from the safety of your home and into mental hospital for weeks because you refused is truly traumatising. But the world is too busy to look over and lend a hand, especially with lying manipulative people everywhere demanding your attention, none of you know the damage that has been done since covid lockdowns... How many deaths, how many suicides.. How much time will be lost before someone helps us? I recently spoke to a psychiatrist and went with my elderly father instead of alone this time. He actually told me that my anger is justified. Even though I was on more then eleven different prescribed medications that were initiated by G.P.s or strangely enough the gynecologists I have to see for severe reproductive issues, he said he could not help me wean off them as it is too dangerous to stop them once started. Apparently my stubbornness knows no bounds and after being poisoned for almost fifteen years I finally got clean with the help of my father and a tincture I made from some leftover weed I was using to try and counteract the harsh effects of anti depressants, anti psychotics, anti epileptics, muscle relaxants, painkillers and all sorts of digestive meds. My mind is still struggling to sober, and I fear permanent brain damage from taking pills that were never needed. The one solace I had during the worst of it was to write in my journals. I hope someone exposes this huge problem and helps other people see that there truly can be some sort of life after living down in rock bottom for so long. But my trust is forever broken and all humans scare me now. I really need surgery and help for the women's health issues I suffer from but those doctors are the ones that lied in the first place. Instead of giving me treatment they told me to take this 'sleeping pill' and that's how it all started.. I just live my life from bed to couch, from couch to bed hoping my pain will end naturally soon enough..

One day, they spammed hundreds, if not thousands of nonsensical messages in their discord server after days of not sleeping. It's been a very eery thing to witness. Luckily they've been given help since then.

My mother has CFS also known as ME (myalgic encephalomyelitis), or ME/CFS. It's as serious as YAYVIDEOGAMES makes it out to be, and much like YAYVIDEOGAMES, she's bedbound. Unfortunately, his case of medical misdiagnosis is not singular, or even rare in many cases. A lot of people suffering with this debilitating illness get told that they're making up their symptoms, and a lot of doctors don't really know how to deal with ME/CFS. My mom had a doctor scream in her face that she was lying, and that she and my (emotionally abusive) father were crazy. This video honestly makes my heart break, and if you can all just spend a minute to educate yourself, and maybe the person next to you, I would appreciate it, and I'm sure anyone with ME/CFS would appreciate it as well.

Unfortunately, there are a lot of misdiagnoses when it comes to anything with psychological side effects. Psychologists and psychiatrists get so used to people with delusions that they start believing they're always correct. Doctors are the professionals, but everyone should be safe and get a second opinion, especially when something feels wrong. I had to go through 4 cardiologists before they finally found what was wrong instead of throwing pills at me.

I’ve got ME/CFS too, and it ruined my life in the most literal sense. While most doctors have been relatively understanding, I have been told by multiple that it’s all in my head. Most often I find it’s friends and peers that are the toxic ones. But anyone who experiences some sort of invisible chronic pain knows that all pain is undeniably real. I have no shortage of empathy for what your mother is going through, and I hope she finds relief wherever she can.

  • @bryntendo

@@subflooring7390 I have CFS too, ever since I copped a whopping dose of glandular fever during a volunteer trip in SE Asia, I was totally bed bound for over a year, and now it's been several years and I've never gotten back to where I was before, the hardest part of living like this is knowing that it's not something I'll just get over and get back to normal eventually - This is my life now. And it sucks. It's beyond depressing, and having such low functionality is awful, as well as being extremely hard to explain to people when you ultimately have to because you're always expected to do so so much more than you can, and even then it's never really enough because it's a struggle, and those things 'should' be easy, for anyone who doesn't have CFS. Even people who say they do understand don't really understand what it's like it, they still think you're playing it up or being lazy or not trying hard enough or that 'it must be nice' to 'not have to do anything' ugh, hard eyeroll on that one. Pain and fatigue are huge issues, so hard to deal with, so hard to live with, it's awful, but they get downplayed so much by everyone that it makes it even harder to live and exist with them than it would be just dealing with the issues alone and not the social stigma. I wouldn't wish this on anyone, ever.

My mother suffered a manic depressive episode which went on for several months until she had to be forced by a court to be hospitalized and put on a mood stabilizer. During this my mother in one night sent me over 300 texts with short variations on telling me everything is ok or fine etc. It was heart wrenching because I knew she needed help but we couldn't get her to go to the Dr. This seems very similar.

As somebody who’s actually psychotic this hits me deep. I can’t imagine not being able to preoccupy myself without being in pain in the middle of delusions. Being constantly and always in pain and not being able to do anything to distract yourself from your head, I couldn’t do that. Neither could he, seeing this. There’s usually coping stuff you can do to try and get yourself out of the delusions or ignore the hallucinations, but on opioids you’re not in the right headspace. Everything would get scary and you’d just disassociate. If he had OCD or BPD that could be where the repetition comes from. Whenever I’m having intrusive thought meltdowns certain phrases repeat over and over. Writing it down can lessen all the white noise and I think that’s what’s happening, because this seems extremely similar to the time I filled up 10 pages on word doc with the phrase ‘We all die like men purple purple purple’. As a mentally ill person, I really hope he found peace. He deserves to after going through so much...

I never had psychotic episodes, but I remember what it's like to constantly be in fear of demons. They love to talk about what things demons like and they drive it into your head to avoid these things if you want to avoid demons, but they sometimes use intense fear tactics in doing so. I'm now an atheist and no longer believe in demons, but this and other mental scars I suffered as a Jehovah's Witness still stick with me. This religion. This CULT. Fucks with people mentally enough.
