And if one tenth of that CO2 was instead carbon monoxide we would all be dead within minutes. Even concentrations as low as 0.0001% of CO are fatal if you are exposed for an extended amount of time. Funny how such a small amount of gas can be something to worry about... But this congressman doesn't even understand the difference between seasons and climate, so I wouldn't expect him to grasp such an unintuitive concept as "trace gasses in the atmosphere can reflect infrared radiation" Edit to say: Just realized I forgot to move the decimal in my conversion of PPM to %. It's actually 0.01% of atmospheric CO that would be lethal to humans. My point still stands however. Trace amounts of gasses can't be written off as "harmless and irrelevant" simply because of their low percentage.

I work in the cement production industry for the worlds largest cement corporation, and took part in a European works council 2 or 3 years ago when these issues were first being pushed hard. Senior management at a global level were involved in the discussions, and it was clear that they were very concerned about the implications to the business, due to the high levels of CO2 that our industry produces. The fact that cement is absolutely necessary to build houses etc that will last decades is not taken into account either. Fossil fuels are literally life-saving to an enormous percentage of the population, and were being harvested in a way that resulted in a net-zero carbon contributing footprint under Donald Trump. The use of fossil fuels means less deforestation as people no longer need wood for energy. It means carbon emissions that function as plant-food. It means lower cost for everyone, and there are at least 300 years worth of deposits for the entire world on US soil alone. You don't think in that time a better or more "sustainable" energy production method could be developed? Stop taking the bait. The Fossil fuel industry continues to win... I am not sure what side you are referring to. We could have started the EV revolution 20 years earlier if not for Fossil fuel lobbyists.

I started asking people who believe in climate change if the know the percentage of CO2 in the atmosphere…I have yet to meet someone who knows it….everyone guesses about 3%……people are just drinking the Kool Aid….

Try asking me. I've known that perfectly well for decades. And now _you_ tell me how much the percentage of CO_2 in the atmosphere has changed in the last 200 years, due to us humans burning fossils fuels...? Do you know that?

Since 1750 it has increased %50 from 280ppm to 420ppm, with about %60 of that increase happening since 1960. This represents an increase of atmospheric C02 level from about .027% to its current .04%

With that high speed rail line, it's less about when the line will be built, it's more about how much money can be put into the project, in my opinion. A deep dive investigation into who owns and has shares in the companies working on this project would more than likely be an eye opener for many. Smoke and mirrors again in my opinion.

The Cali "high speed rail" project is all about political graft. It's similar to Ukrainian "aid", but on a smaller scale.

If everyone would just stop exhaling, there'd be a lot less CO2❗ 🤢
