Спорт

In this lesson, I discuss footwork in the golf swing. As well as using step drills, I explain how the feet need to be moving at address, how they work throughout the swing and the role of ground force

Padraig is a throwback to the old days of the tour. When players were teaching professionals as well. Some of these young players can't articulate the how, what, when, and where. Ask them why do they do this or that and their coach will answer for them. Great stuff Padraig. I love your contributions to Bob Rotellas book "The 15th Club".

This is a brilliant lesson. The two-step drill has been around for ages (Bob Toski must have got it from somewhere 40 years ago). A single step forward, however, seems relatively new and all the advice is to make the move as soon as the club swings back to P1. Paddy's advice to do it at P2 gives the golfer a much better chance of completing the backswing. It felt great in the garden and hope springs eternal.

This is Dr. Kwon stuff and really modern bio mechanics! It is also a great example of why Paddy is always eagerly awaited by most of us. No bullpoop and no rabbit holes . This is tough stuff for those of us taught the swing in a certain way. I have been working on it for a year but it is a tough change. You likely will need professional help to do it correctly. Without a doubt Padraig offers the best REAL golf advice i have ever seen. Thank you Paddy, and also for the Dublin travel tips!😮

Paddy does great teaching vids. While doing the one step drills front and back foot, I noticed that my weight shifted with which ever foot moved. This seemed to create a conflict with where the weight was when the swing was near the top.. If I stepped forward, my weight was forward with the swing at the top, but if I stepped backward the weigth was on my back foot when the swing was at the top.. I have no doubt the conflict simply comes from a fine line of weight shift from backswing to downswing but wish Paddy would have explained this a bit.

Help us please Padraig. You are our only hope. 95% of golfers are plagued by chunking the ball. Everything we do is a compensation to not chunk it on the course. We cant even chip without chunking. We dont know how to use the tool. We can all learn in 1 day to hit a nail on the head with a hammer and by the end of the day we can naturally add tremendous power. “Straight jacket golf” instructors wrap us up like a pretzel and think we’ll be able to swing freely and powerfully. How do we use the tool and how do we get the club sweeping at the correct height at impact? Teach us that and we can take care of the rest.

I don't know why you share so much great content, but I am very glad you do. As I understand it, you seem to say that the forward movement of planting onto the lead foot begins to happen by the time the hands are waist high on the backswing. Given there is such a small amount of time between the time the club starts to move back and the time the hands are roughly waist high (and given you are not someone who sways off the ball in the backswing), do you have an opinion on whether it would be ok to simply keep more wait on the lead side early on in the swing? Seems like it might be easier to load the front leg as you discuss. Thanks again. Great video.

I can't be the only one who loses his mind over those heat maps of the feet through the swing. All I have been concentrating on is the early transfer of weight, the direction of force is new to me. Such a great simple explanation, think maybe this Patrick guy could make a living out of golf, although he's started a little late.😂
