CHIPPING | Paddy's Golf Tip #1 | Padraig Harrington

Спорт

The art of chipping is one that requires patience and practice. There are a number of reasons why golfers struggle when chipping, but it's often the result of incorrect body position and a breakdown of the wrist positions through impact. In this video, I'm going to take you through some unique tips to improve your chipping game.

My chipping has been awful for a while. Been practicing a lot in the garden. Very inconsistent shots, then we had the hot weather & the ground turned very hard that i was thinning shots 50% of the time. Just watched this video, went outside & hit about 95% of my chips perfectly. Can't believe we've got a major champion on youtube giving us lessons but I'm so thankful there is!

I predict 1 million subscribers inside a year. Chipping has been my saving grace on the course and now I know why. I’ve actually been doing a lot right. Oh my god I can’t wait for a driving lesson. I simply can’t hit a fairway with a wood . If I do it’s luck. That’s my golf fault, stand on a tee box and have know idea where the ball will end up.

As juniour golfers, we would spend ages messing around on the practice range with our chipping, including "vertical" flop shots. In a round, there would be at least one chip-in between us. Decades later I now have time to play regularly, but that short game skill has left me. I was looking at buying a set of wedges to replace my 30 year old ones, because "it must be these clubs :D". These drills make so much sense. I look forward to putting them into practice.

So thats what a bounce is! My irons dont have a bounce (I dont think so), so i have no way of the clubs 'forgiving me' if i strike the ground first. Your advice to put ball forward and lean on left foot so that you are in line with the ball at impact is what I needed to hear. I will try this for sure. My short game at the moment is where I lose so many points.
