    Plebs. They have no idea about these cars. Buy them because they are flavour of the month. Get completely ripped off with a flogged out version that was probably a street racer. Then complain it breaks and parts are expensive. If you can't afford two gtrs. Don't buy one.

The car is tired it’s not Brand new. It’s probably been raced and abused many times before it Got into your hands. If you want it To be reliable on a budget then sell then car or Keep it stock simple

    True on all counts. I had one for a short while and honestly I made a lot of sacrifices to buy it and it was a dream come true to get it. Mine behaved sometimes but likewise almost every other trip was plagued with some issue. Attesa and hicas were I think both intermittently problematic on mine, when cornering even at low speed and especially in the wet if either system decided it wanted to play up it stops your heart, it'd snatch at the steering and pull wherever it pleased even with light throttle. Combined with the tram-lining and occasional bumpsteer I had started to lose confidence in it. I doubt they are all like that but it was enough to put me off them for good.

  • @kitvexed8229
    @kitvexed8229 Жыл бұрын

    you clearly got one either: not maintained or just chopped.. i have a 1990 with HICAS delete and built motor.. all GReddy bolts-ons, etc.. never had a single problem. and i feel plenty "cool" someone approaches me every single time i drive it and asks for pictures. places like Terra Firma, raw brokerage, RHD Japan, NENGUN all provide plenty of aftermarket support.. true you can't get shit from AutoZone the same day, but if you can wait, there's plenty of parts. your complaints are anecdotal at best and i hope ppl dont actually listen to your cries.. RBs were one of the best motors built and if you get a sorted car and know enough to maintain it - you wont have problems.

    An example of how hard to get and expensive parts are for this car. I needed a Front windshield for mine. I special ordered direct from Nissan Japan, 1 of only 2 Available OEM color options , OE bronze tinted, or OE greenish tint. I ordered the Bronze for $900!!! It came in cracked on arrival, turns out the spec of the glass is thin and easily cracks from that era. That was the last bronze they had as NOS (New old stock), so i had to settle for the green tint, which came in unscathed. It took 3 months of waiting.

    I love in Canada Qc I have had one skyline r32 since 2008 if I have a tip to share is to treat against rust I know that almost no one wants oil under their gtr This is the reason why several skyline starts to rust, even see very serious damage I had done a minimum of treatment in 2008 is this year I had to repair the beginnings of rust under the side skirt Nothing serious but superficial at this point my car is a perfect example of a very well maintained car my hicas system works very well you should know how to check it is simple to press the brakes repeatedly turn the steering wheel from left to right to engage the test mode but hey I'll let you better tame the beast for me it's done I know my car well

    If you are going to buy a 90’s GTR make sure you import one through a legit dealer because they get almost stock GTR’s and clean cars, they do due inspections on them from looking for rust to even doing maintenance on them like water pumps or timing jobs…. Spend the extra money to get a well taken care of car instead of going cheap and buying one that’s been beat up

I just took apart my 98 4runner and pressed in some poly bushings myself into the front and rear suspension... it cost me 200$ and a couple days of labor to do it myself. Truck rides like a dream now. Do they not make nice aftermarket poly bushings for the car?! It really shouldn’t cost you 10 grand for some rubber bushings....?

    Idk bro I’ve had my R33 GTR almost 3 years now and it’s just as reliable as any 90’s Japanese car. I drive it every week. Unless you cheaped out and got an R title or one that was beat on, they’re very reliable cars granted you maintain them properly. I do agree they can add up, but again, that’s usually only the case if they’re neglected. And you said it doesn’t feel special. Maybe because you’ve modified yours with cheap eBay looking body parts typically found on GTST’s and base model drift missiles. In the proper OEM GTR form (or lightly and tastefully modified), a GTR of any generation will turn heads everywhere you go. But you’re replacing the signature GTR parts with ill fitting generic base model parts that makes it look like a beater. You said they’re not fast, which in stock form in 2023, you’re correct. But the reason people buy these cars is because with very basic supporting modifications, an RB26 on stock internals will push close to 600hp reliably. If I was in your shoes, I would’ve left the appearance as close to stock as possible, and simply spent all the money you spent on wheels/tires/paint/body on a well tuned single turbo setup with a properly sorted motor. And instead of a troublesome car with side skirts that barely fit, you’d have a well sorted 500hp rocket. But to each their own

    Surprise if more people actually like R32 now, most of the time i saw people say it looks ugly, and R34 or R35 looks way better I personally love R32 as my fav GTR because of it simple and stiff look and the history of the development of the car, I don't even know there is hype around the R32 nowadays

    Stancing a gtr 😂. Wonders why it breaks consistently. Says parts are hard to get. Complains about prices. Complains about performance. Just a fan boy out of his depth really. On sell it. Go buy yourself a Honda.

    I currently own a 19 limited WRX, maintenance is high. I'm currently stationed overseas and looking at a 98 GT R34. Being a previous Audi S4, VW Jetta, and BMW owner there are some epic money pits. I do want a Skyline to bring back and use it as a weekend ride and do maintenance because I know these things are a fortune to maintain for their age.
