I bought my 2SS at 162k (currently at 164,400) miles and I love it. Previous owner had to change the timing chain, oil pump, and rear main seal, but thats expected at this high of mileage. Only other complaint is the differential bushing is worn out, you can feel a strong thump when flooring it anywhere from 0-20. But it’s been great to me so far. Doesn’t burn oil, doesn’t make any concerning noises like rod knock. It’s fast as hell, it’s earned me my first and second speeding ticket lol. The fastest car I was used to was a 2006 charger r/t before this car. Definitely recommend this sports car to anyone in the market, you won’t be disappointed

Bought mine with 153k miles. No issues but still did the following: FBO, tune, gearing, replaced the entire cooling system with the mishimoto kit, turnone power steering pump after blowing the stock pump, ngk spark plugs, replaced the entire front suspension and lowered the car (I drive way too hard and eventually going to do it legit with coilovers). the only thing I have to do now is replace an o2 sensor, and other hoses just due to age. All basic maintenance and the belts are up to date. Eventually I’ll get to doing internals when I go to do cam and heads. As for the exterior it definitely needs cleaning up tho and I’ll be changing out the coil packs too. Car runs great and everything has been done in the past 2yrs since getting the car. Love this car

Looking forward to build up a few more miles. the comments below looks promising :) The good thing with these cars if you buy them here in Sweden is that almost all have low milages on them. people here only drive them a few months in the summer. and they also change owners every year.

Currently got 81k+ miles on my L99 and had it since 76k miles. Never had a major issue other than changing oil pan gaskets and dropping the tank due to contaminated gas. These cars are reliable across any mileage range as long as it wasn't dogged out. Even saying that, they take a good beating.
@midnight347
2 жыл бұрын
I mean 81k is nothing on a modern car lol. And you've only put 5k miles on it so it's not exactly "tested" lol. People think about miles like it's the 60s or something 100k used to be ready for the graveyard that isn't the case now you can get hundreds of thousands of miles on most cars now if they're properly maintained that is much more important than "mileage". All miles aren't created equal. Around town mileage is totally different than highway mileage.

@Greg Lewis the l99 comes with the automatic and the ls3 comes with the manual.. the l99 is the ls3 accept it has a tiny bit less compression .. overall the l99 is an excellent motor.. only way you can get a 2ss is if you get the auto.. that’s the crème of the crop model.. you get a lot more with the auto in my opinion.. plus once you cam it it will make that manual look like a Prius after you put a 2800 stall torque converter in it

Fully stock and I drove it back from California with 0 rust full service records even the window sticker when I got home it had 123k on it and it now just barly hit 130K 0 issues besides the crappy wires that go from the button in the door to open the trunk the previous owner had it fixed 2 times and I was the 3rd this time I fixed it properly so it won't happen again 🤣 but the best part was he sold it to me for $11,000 and it's been the best most fun car I've ever owned

This 80% time screams young rodder that's been ragging on the car hard. Idc how tough any engine or equipment is if you work it hard said life expectancy will be lowered. Just like us we smoke we drink heavy etc we will shorten our life. If buying high mileage Id prefer a older owner and 100% stock and if inside and body clean pretty good sign taken care of. What price would be reasonable to buy a 2010 SS with 100k miles For a daily and for fun
I have a 14 Spring Edition SS/RS 29k miles. I bought it with 9k miles. Never had 1 problem and she’s beautiful. Yours is very beautiful as well brother.
I bought an LS1 in 2006. It was only firing on 3 cylinders. Changed the plus and all fluids, ran like brand new, no issues the whole 5 years of ownership. That’s when I was sold on the LS!
Definitely recommend this sports car to anyone in the market, you won’t be disappointed
mine is currently @ 196k miles and still runs good just did a spark plug change an a pcv hose in the manifold changed
I got a 2011 2SS with 34k miles for just under 30k. Really no mods to speak of other than an axle back exhaust. I've done a few minor things to it, but it's a beauty! Worth every penny!

@midnight347

I just bought a manual 2012 SS with 114k miles for 15k. Only had winter tires, so I had to buy another set of wheels off eBay, but they are in great shape. Car is clean as can be and in fantastic condition. Tiny bit of rust on the rear quarter but easily fixed. Engine bay looks brand new. Ive been turning wrenches 42 years and I was young once believe it or not lol. If I am reading a add and the add list all the power add on's and high mileage Id keep walking . Buy a car with your brain not your eyes.

2014 Camaro rs v6 got it at 100k it now has 160k and it’s still running strong. Drove it from Cali to Colorado and back to Cali, only issue or non issue was replacing my brakes and rotors on top of oil changes Still my daily driver

Why are people afraid to mod their cars because they have mileage on them? If it's well maintained and you continue to do so it shouldn't be an issue. Especially if it's not using fluids. I wouldn't let milage stop you from modding the car or camping it or whatever you wanna do.

Damn how are all of you getting these great deals? Most of them I find have like over 100k miles and like 3+ owners and they’re still like 20k-25k which I don’t think would be reliable as I’d plan on keeping it for years. Then again I do live in Cali and everything is expensive af so maybe I shouldn’t be surprised
My previous car was a 13 2SS LS3 manual, which I sold with 143K miles. The car had zero issues. However, I will say that it was bone stock all its life.
