The girl who played the eldest daughter in this movie got kicked out of school due to poor attendance due to the filming of this movie. Robin personally wrote to the school begging them to take her back. They still refused - but framed his letter 😂

Rest in peace, Robin Williams. I simply can't imagine anyone else in the role of Daniel/Mrs Doubtfire. I always cry when Mrs Doubtfire gives her closing monologue on divorce, and how sometimes it's the best solution for everyone involved.

I had the chance to meet Robin two separate times during my tours of duty. The first, I was a security detail for a USO tour that featured him, Kid Rock and Lance Armstrong. I rode on a Black Hawk with Robin touring Iraq for a day. He was exactly as you imagine. The second time, when I was in Afghanistan, I saw him at a USO function in Kandahar and waited in line for about 2 hours to get his autograph for my gf, and to my shock he remembered me! This man will always be a legend to me.

Robin Williams is far and away the celebrity death that hit me the hardest. The man was an essential part of my childhood, and losing him felt like losing the fun uncle in the family. RIP, Robin. You'll never be forgotten.

When he passed, it was very difficult for me. He was an integral part of my childhood as well. Aladdin was one of my favorite movies and no one could have been better as Genie. RIP Robin😢

He passed when I was at my lowest, I took it so hard that I tried to off myself a couple days later. I felt like if someone with as much zest as that man had couldn’t even find a reason to stay how could I. I’m great full I’m still here but I think of this man’s struggles constantly. My mom got me his times Warner complete works for Christmas that year and I still watch it constantly

I think part of why it works is because he isn’t trying to get his wife back, just his time with his kids. It makes the “stalking” a little less creepy.

This movie meant so much to me as a kid. My parents had a very messy divorce in the mid-90s and I remember wishing things would just go back to normal. I would get frustrated watching TV shows where all the problems were neatly solved at the end, yet my problem seemed impossible to solve. Mrs. Doubtfire was the first thing that showed me that life is going to be different now, but that it was going to be ok.

Robin Williams is simply irreplaceable as an entertainer. A true 1 of 1.

This movie is genuinely one of my comfort films. As a child in a broken home and a father who didnt want the responsibility of children, Mrs Doubtfire was a beacon of love. A movie about a dad who wanted EVERYTHING to do with his kids, demanding the ability to be with them and be a part of their lives. The warmth of Daniel's fatherly smile, the comfort of Mrs Doubtfire's grandmotherly persona, all the while knowing its their father behind the mask. It cemented Robin Williams as the uncle I never met. I grieved when he died. This movie will remain with me as a cherished comfort and memory.

It is strange, the effect that this man had when it came to how people were affected when we found out we had all lost Robin. Also, just a few days ago, I randomly was passing through when I saw an interview of Robin Williams on one of the monitors. I stopped. I felt the smallest bit of sadness again. 😔 😟 I paused and watched the rest of the intervie. Otherss had done the same. Just four random people in a public space... we gave each other small awkward glances/half-chuckles and then went on our way. I remember thinking when I got to my car: "Man. Robin Williams touched so many people's lives with his acting skills that yearrrs after his death... 4 randos just take a whole moment out of their busy lives to hear/see him once again." Not many actors can say that. I think the whole world grieved when we lost him, and more so when we found out how he died and when his family told the world how he may have felt at that time in his life. He was cherished. It hurt us to think he didn't know that. 😔

@AnaisWolf "having" and "dying from" are two very different things. He hurting himself to the state of being not alive. He was diagnosed with the above medical condition. He didn't die "from" it though. A close relative also was diagnosed with Alzheimer's disease complicated with dementia. He died from a stroke though. It's really weird that you want to mention some other physical issues he was combating. People are sharing why his life touched theirs and how they felt at the time. They are sharing why the situation was so tragic, and you feel it's more important to mention his other medical issues ? That's pretty weird 😕

It took me a few years to be able to finally watch Robin Williams movies again after his passing. I don't get emotional with most celebrity deaths, but something about his presence, especially his smile brought such a warmth to the screen, and you can just tell his desire to make people happy and laugh was pure and genuine. Him being gone, especially the way it happened made it really difficult to bear watching him on screen for awhile. It was just too sad and heartbreaking 💔 There was truly no one else like him

Just because you don't know someone in person, doesn't mean you can't admire them as people and what they stand for and dare I say, build a connection with them! 😱 lol Robin Williams was a big part a my childhood and millions of others, so yes, it is emotional for me, and if you can't feel the least bit sad about someone who lived their life by bringing joy and laughter to the world, and then eventually take their own life, then I'm really concerned about you. Least you can do is feel empathy for someone grieving over this man's death 🙄

Sincerely, I'm not making fun: you should probably talk to someone about this if you're still struggling with his passing. Unless you knew him personally, it's not normal to still be intensely grieving.

@@sitcomchristian6886 I said I couldn't watch him for a few years. He died in 2014. I didn't say I was still struggling to this day. Either way, it's still a sad situation that should have never happened.

I believe why people like Robin Williams is that(at least to my knowledge) he didn't have a bad workstyle history, got well with everyone and even making jokes he never stooped to the level that some people do in the name of comedy. He stood up for himself and others and (at least to my knowledge) didn't take advantage of others. There are a handful of creators out there that are like this and why most gravitate toward them even if they aren't in the limelight.

One of the only celebrity deaths that hit me hard. A once in a generation actor and all round beloved human.

Anytime I see literally anything about him, I immediately just wanna scream “GIVE HIM BACK”. But as someone who had a loved one take their own lives, and especially as someone who survived their own attempt, it would just seem so unfair to ask him to come back when he left of his own accord, however we may be left to feel about it. He gave us beautiful memories, and for that, this world is grateful. He accomplished his mission, and it was time for him to go home. ❤

It is extremely difficult , the loss of someone who takes their own life, especially when that someone was such a big and fun personality , along with Mr. Williams, that was my brother. Sadly, I have never laughed quite the same again, can't get to that point of having laughing so hard that tears come down tour face.

Such a one of a kind classic that got even better now that we found out how much improvising was done. Rest In Peace 😢

I firmly agree with every point you've made here. I honestly couldn't agree more. Robin really was something else entirely. The entire cast and crew did a phenomenal job on this film. Mrs. Doubtfire has, and always shall be, one of my favorite things ever. I was newly thirteen years old when I first saw this film. I fell in love with it immediately. I'm newly forty-three years old. I'm STILL in love with it. I always will be. Lavender Jack...Swooping On Down.

One of the best family films ever made. I've seen it countless times but never gets old. Williams is a force of nature in it. On his day there's not many as actors as watchable as him

RIP Robin Williams 🙏🏻 He was a huge impact to my early childhood. I watched so many of his movies (Jumanji, Jack, Flubber, Patch Adams, etc.) by myself as a kid, back when VHS tapes were the only way to watch movies. He was a comfort to me at a young age and I will always cherish him and his memory for it

I used to watch this VHS every weekend. I don't think I would've cared for the movie if it wasn't for Robin Williams playing Mrs Doubtfire.

I saw a list of the top 20 Robin Williams movies yesterday and was blown away. They named 20 bangers. Despite that, they still missed several gems. Talent like him doesn't come along often unless it's being imitated. The fact that we got both him and Jim Carrey in the same lifetime is nothing short of a miracle

He practically carried every movie he was involved in. I admire everyone who got the privilege to work with him. There will never be another one like Robin Williams. R.I.P you beautiful man

An amazing person and talent, gone far too soon.

Robin Williams was one of those rare actors/comedians who was able to fully leverage both his physical and verbal comedy to reach a pure funniness that anyone, whether your a kid or middle-aged adult could enjoy and laugh at. In a lot of ways, Jim Carrey also tapped into this style of comedy, however as an actor, Williams was unmatched. He was able to deliver a feeling of genuine sincerity and warm kindness that no other actor has ever been able to replicate. Which is why his death was so tragic for so many of us, because losing him meant losing that joy, that laughter, and that irreplaceable kind comfort he provided the world.

Robin was one of a kind and is still very much missed.

Yes, it's still and will always be a great classic! In fact, it's one of the top five Robin Williams films for me. For it showcased not only his comedic genius but also his dramatic sensitivity that only a few actors could masterfully balance in one movie. We all miss him so much. Thankfully he left thousands of movies, tv series, and video contents that we can all enjoy watching for infinity.

To this day I can't watch a Robin Williams performance without getting all torn up inside. Going through a lot of mental turmoil myself, off and on meds that don't work, making others laugh so I keep going. I know if he could, he would tell us all it was a mistake, and he would want us to enjoy all of his stories regardless of the bleak ending. I can't thank you enough for making this video guys, I think I'm gonna go rewatch Flubber and try and have a good day :)

I legit cried when I heard of his passing. No other actor/person I've never met made me feel that way before. I remember meeting his beautiful daughter, Zelda, when I was working at a restaurant at the time and she was incredibly polite, courteous, and respectful. How incredibly fortunate that I grew up with him in some of my favorite movies of my childhood and adolescence.

Literally my favourite movie of all time, I watched it so many times a kid but was so pleasantly surprised at how well it holds up even watching it a year ago. As outstanding as Robin is, I have to say Sally Field and Pierce Brosnan also crush it as well

Miss him every day. His authenticity in his roles and in his life made him truly unique. I’m grateful for the art that lives on.

I remember always watching Mrs Doubtfire whenever it came on tv at my grandparents house. My mom would be finishing school so I got kept by them. It was a good movie to watch. It usually came on before it was my nap time.

Mrs. Doubtfire is still a great movie. It’s great no matter how old you are. When you’re young it’s hilarious to see a man dressed as an old woman doing what Robin Williams did. As you get older you start to understand the adultness of it. The lessons beyond the hilarity. It’s a special film.

I remember reading somewhere there was gonna be a sequel that was scrapped after Robin’s death.

@@JariahxSynn Yeah, he may not have always picked the best material to reflect his talents, but when he was on point, he was on point.

He was a Titan among Titans, Robin Williams had a charisma that not many actors have, which is he ALWAYS feels genuine.I had the privilege of meeting him once and it was a random encounter in early 2000s at a ski lift in Canada. It was only him and me on the chair for about 10 min. It's been 20 years and I still remember the encounter. I've never shed a tear for any famous person passing except for him. RIP Robin Williams.

We were lucky to have lived through that time period. Blessed with talent like Williams but also movies that are wholesome, fun, innocent…

By far my favorite actor and the only actor I genuinly was sad about when he died. He did so many great movies when I was growing up he made it feel like we knew him and he was part of my life as a cousin or something.

I really try not to idolize actors but with Robin I couldn't help it. I actually teared up when he died. Probably a bit because he reminds me a lot of my dad, but also because he brought me so much joy over the years, from his whole spectrum of talents. From gut bustingly goofy funny to Oscar winning dramatic performances. The man was simply a treasure.

The GOAT comedian Robin Williams

Just finished watching Ms.Doubtfire half an hour ago. And my dad called me right after and I spoke to him about how I finished watching the film and how Robin Williams was and is one of the best actors, comedians, entertainers and humans we’ll ever have. And he agreed. He told me that he remembers taking me to go watch Jumanji when it came out in 1996 and I was just six months old. He said that he remembers me laughing and enjoying the movie. I’m 27 years old and I still enjoy watching Robin’s films. Good will hunting and Peter Pan are two other films of his that I enjoy watching. He’s definitely irreplaceable and my heart breaks each time I watch one of his films, especially the ending divorce monologue in Ms.Doubtfire. My parents split when I was like 10 years old so I can relate, but the point is that Robin Williams has made me smile, laugh and cry since I was a little kid and I am grateful to my dad who took me to watch films at such a young age. And for Robin, you are still dearly loved and missed and I am grateful that I got to live at the same lifetime as you. Don’t forgot to hug, kiss, share a laugh with your loved ones and tell them you love them. ❤

wow this was an awesome video. I remember watching this movie a lot. I always went back because of robins ability to make me laugh and also feeling sympathy for him and the difficult situation he was in. you really shined the light on what makes this movie iconic, and the fact that its relying so much on the off-screen personality of robin, and it absolutely pays off. its nice knowing robin got to give the character his own take and personality and for the director to trust him with this hard task.

Mrs. Doubtfire was one of the greatest movies ever, to me it was Robin Williams greatest performances that shows the hardships of divorce on the majority of the family members, it was emotionally heartbreaking as it was genuinely warm memorable with some of the most exceptional comedic performances ever.... a real classic and treasured treat to be enjoyed many times a year. In fact, Mrs. Doubtfire as a classic ranks up in the same stratosphere with similarly fantastic classics such as " A Christmas Story " and " National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation " and " The 40 year old virgin " or " Planes, Trains and Automobiles " or " The Mask ". The thing about Robin Williams is the same as John Candy, they were both said to be super great people who were as approachable as they were funny, love them and their movie's. Robin Williams, John Candy, Adam Sandler, Jim Carey, Chevy Chase, Steve Carell, and many other's proved to be much more than great comedians, they were very talented actors as well. I've watched these film's and other's so much, that I've memorized the entire dialogue, and I get the same wonderful feeling and love for these film's each and every time I view them. They are a mainstay in my movie rotation that I watch five to ten times a month. Like wise other movies get this same praise and monthly airtime, like " John Wick " or " The Equalizer " or " The Terminator " or " The Matrix " or " Death Wish " or " Dirty Harry " or " V for Vendetta " or " A Christmas Carol " or " Enter the Dragon " and so on. Robin Williams and John Candy and Rodney Dangerfield and Chevy Chase and Adam Sandler and John Belushi Dan Aykroyd, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Denzel Washington, Charles Bronson, Johnny Depp, Don Knotts, Clint Eastwood and many other's make great and memorable movies that you love watching over and over.

A truly once in a lifetime actor. Was nothing short of amazing getting to meet him in person however breif. ❤️

I think the fact that he truly loves and wants to be around his kids is what makes the movie’s premise work for me. If he were only trying to get back with his ex that would be one thing but the fact that he wants to be around his kids is what makes the deception okay in my eyes since you can see he’s a father who genuinely feels lost without his family rather than some creep trying to take advantage of said family. And I agree I think that Robin Williams is the only actor who could’ve made that believable enough through his incredible performance.

Still a great movie, and this is still a great channel.

That's why I love this channel, it makes me appreciate things I overlooked first time watching.

It may sound strange because I've never met the man, but I miss Robin in the same way I miss my father or a dear friend. The world is a little less without him.
