@DarkRyn This story wasn't given to Black... everything he's done in AEW has been his creation... very few of the stories in AEW have been given to any of the talent... Tony has basically asked people "what are you thinking?" and then said cool and worked with them to make it happen and given some frame work towards particular stories with the booking and pairings... Tommy End has had all these ideas for the House Of Black and been creating this character for a long a time though he's talked about in multiple interviews.

Love how creative Malakai is.

Coming back to this promo opened my eyes so much, malakai is one of the most creative and charismatic people in wrestling today, not to mention his in ring ability

I really hope Malakai is referring to Brody King and that the two of them will team up in AEW like in PWG. They're beasts! Forces of nature! Destructive like the storm!

the fact that all of these characters can be how they want to be and not what they are forced to being, is what makes this perfect and amazing, genuine just like miro and others

Malakai Black's character development bas been terrific. After his loss against Cody Rhodes and his pairing with Andrade El Idolo, he somewhat lost his intimidating factor which he had during his rivalry with Rhodes and The Nightmare Family. But this promo package was intriguing, and I am looking forward to seeing more from Black in AEW.

Malakai's ominous delivery & approach to his promos makes his character one of the most intriguing characters in wrestling today. If you can get people to pay attention to you when you are on-screen whether it's a promo, a segment or a match, you know you are doing something right & Malakai is doing everything right to make people watch, listen & most importantly, pay attention to him.

Just shoot this gimmick into my veins right now! I am totally invested in this!

Even better. Undertaker was out of reality, Black is very much in reality and sees the world for what it's for. Alot of the shit he says is real.

This man has spent such a short time in AEW but has embodied his true being, this couldn't of happened elsewhere, thank you AEW for allowing your wrestlers to flex who they really are, I feel like I'm in the era where Mystics, Wicca's, Witchcraft, Folklore, Mythology, Paganism, Norse, all those elements are at play, he truly reached his ancestors I LOVE IT

This is how i used to see the Undertaker when i was a child. Thank god AEW exist and this version of Aleister/Malakai Black didn’t go to waste.

what i love about this House of Black is when he sprayed Julia, he revealed that "The Empress brings the fool" and Griff Garrison is the fool. the evidence is the promo where you can see the crack in the Varisty Blondes start to form due to his blinded rage while Pillman (weird to say given his family history) is the rational one at least at the moment. i think Julia will truly be a part of House Black.

I can’t wait to see Malakai add Brody King. If there work in PWG is anything to go by, the tag division should be interesting in 2022. If the Briscoe’s and possibly Kyle O’reilly and Bobby Fish as a tag team, then AEW will have a stacked tag division. And it was already a great division.

Malakai Black is so freaking crazy I love it.

The most underrated part of Malakai's gimmick is his voice. It's such a perfect accent and tone that he uses that it genuinely feels like we're listening to an actual Gothic priest and not some random person put up to the character.

Cant wait for Malakai Black and Darby Allin to cross paths!

This is how you do cult/mystique type characters in wrestling. Its not about the effects or the pyro or the popping out of nowhere. Its the fear that maybe he says something that applies to all of us, that maybe all of have has some of this evil that he let consume him

If this is the start of Malakai's stable, I vote that after the reveal of Brodie King, that they have Abadon and Ryzin in there as well :)

The Brody King reference was perfectly subtle, Malakai needs more mic time. I could listen to this dude for hours. Tommy End/Aleister Black/Malakai Black is in my opinion, THE BEST WRESTLER IN THE WORLD!!!

That would work.

What I like about Malakai Black's gimmick is how he seamlessly weave together the elements of darkness with reality. There is no magical or supernatural effects to his promos compared to say, The Undertaker, Kane, Gangrel or Bray Wyatt. What makes his gimmick click is the concept of evil and the dark side of humanity.

His understanding of evil and darkness is beyond all those you mentioned. As you said they needed this mythical element to be scary, they had to take you out of reality. He doesn't necessarily scare you but his outlook on actual reality sends chills up your spine.

Let's be real, AEW gives their wrestlers a lot of creative influence. And for the majority of the gimmicks that these wrestlers have, I'm glad! They're not being what they're told to be, they're expressing their own ideas and I think it's awesome 👍👍👍👍👍

AEW vignettes are unmatched.

He would have been perfect to lead the dark order, but then again we would have missed the house of black faction which is perfect in itself.

The Dark Order and their " Lost Boys " image with Brodie trying to guide them is one of the best wholesome things ever done in wrestling. Trying to make anything serious out of it would be a slap in the face of Brodie Lee and his legacy as a super solid dude backstage. It's a good thing they are building a separate stable for Malakai. No need to interject him into an already set up faction. Hell, they could even feud with each other since the Dark Order are face and Malakai is heel. Long story short, AEW creative know damn well what they are and should be doing.

The more I see him everything from his promos, gimmick it's more then a wrestling gimmick for him I get the sense he grew up within the left-hand path 🤘🤘

This man is the number one draw for me, now that Kenny is healing up. All of the subtleties and the artistic expression and meaningful thought put into his character is rare among wrestling (or any form of modern, western pop culture really). The internal sickness overwhelming him in the Dante match was a high point that I hope gets explored more, and the juxtaposition of including a peppy cheerleader in his story?... Brilliant. 10/10. I hope the members of the house aren't a disappointment.

I think right now Cody should stay the furthest away from any talent AEW wants to build up and push: I don't hate him at all, but his controversial relationship with the fans is becoming too much of a distraction from the matches and angles, with fans ignoring everything that is going on in the ring to boo Cody.

Yes! Yes! Yes! 100% I felt this from the second I heard the line. To a lot of fans Cody has shown a "desire" to be like HHH, it makes perfect sense. Also after watching again, I know it is slight and could be a reach, but watch a video where Cody snaps his head up after looking at the ground, then watch after Black delivers the line. I almost want it to be him over a debut lol.
