What Liberty Media Buying MotoGP Means For F1

Спорт

Liberty Media, the owners of F1 just announced their takeover of Motorcycle Racing's Premiere class - MotoGP. But will it be bad for the sport? And what will it do to Formula 1?
Well, Liberty Media has done an incredible amount for F1 in the 8 years it has owned the sport, and I think that history will repeat itself with MotoGP.
But that doesn't mean there aren't knock-on effects for F1. So let's discuss what will happen to their future, and what all of this means for us fans.

A possibility. Maybe Liberty start collecting motorsport like infinity stones and we get RACE TV as a collective, exclusive service

Also unlike formula 1 , a moto gp race only lasts for less than a hour(around 40 minutes) , whereas a formula 1 it will last for a long while. And if we have a long boring race then people will get discouraged and they will refuse to see it, whereas if it's a small race even if it's a boring one , it won't lasg for long so they will be more inclined to watch the short race

Politics my friend. Imagine you were the owner of a cafe but you hired a manager to do the day-to-day work. Would you still not have an input on the work they do at the cafe? Of course not. The FIA is the manager, Liberty owns the place - they are in eachothers’ pockets.

80% of motogp’s audience have been watching for 6+ years. So to get a younger (i.e. newer audience/fanbase) they can use the same strategies that they used for F1. Sorry it wasnt super clear - hope that clarifies 😄

2 things, 1) new tracks aren't exactly good. When the push was made to expand in America, I was expecting tracks like Watkins Glen and Laguna seca instead we got the Miami parking lot and the last Vegas strip. 2) races start to mean less towards a championship. More races mean that faster cars will have more value than the driver as the faster car is more likely to win a race, meaning last race championship deciders are gonna reduce. This also means a dnf means lesser, especially if you have more races to get those points back when you have the faster car.

@user-fk4xp9ff4t some great points here bro! second point I can’t argue with - it’s 100% true. First point I would say that it was never going to be feasible to race on those tracks as they arent grade one. I enjoyed the vegas gp but I agree that Miami HAS to go
