So basically to get any type of interaction you have to be a paypig? And here I was thinking this was a place to share knowledge and talk about keyboard stuff. Back to Maker Mod's and the people who aren't 17 going on 8yo! It's a shame, I was going to put hippo caps on my silver QK75 but I can't support a "creator" that ignores EVERYONE but those who pay you. DCX it is! I tried to share a really good keeb you left out and absolutely no one has seen it. You liked the posts right beside mine. Then I go look at the people who support the channel and coincidentally the people are the same as the ones you like their comments.👌 I guess since the keyboard I suggested doesn't make you any money you don't want to draw any attention to it? Have a good life hippo kid. Hasn't been much actual good content for about a year so I'll check back in and see if we're still doing these 12 year old kid gamer keyboard roundups! Toby is as "skilled" at woodworking as I was in high school. Look up the person Doug Stowe. He's a world-renowned woodturner and one of the top wooden bowl makers on earth! He was my high school woodshop teacher. I could make one of Toby's keyboards for about $50 worth of materials. I could not believe what you and him thought was a fair price and what people are paying for a 30 minute no skill run it through the machine pattern, use the router for 1 minute, keyboard we could have easily made in high school. Really sucks, I was hoping to get some interaction here but I think it's very clear why I never do. Sorry I don't have any money to give you I hope all of the teenagers that are subscribed give you lots of money!✌️

@@dalebob9364 I was going to ignore this, because it comes off as ignorant, ageist, and stupid.. but I really don't want you misleading people. I can't tell if your comment is butthurt that I generally like the comments of people who have joined the channel or that I feature a lot of sponsored keyboards, but either way it's a weird take. Like what? I love interacting with my audience, but I'm just one dude. I try and heart as many comments as possible as I read them, but I get hundreds a day! Also, I looked you up in my past comments and you've never commented on my page before? Is this a bug or are you tripping? PS I love Toby and you're dumb. The only semi stupidly expensive thing I bought was my cable, but that was based off of several things I sat on for a few says before buying and I'm glad I did. Keychron was for my first modding attempt and I have three other boards I bought a while ago to also hopefully mod.

Hey Hipyo, awesome video! My Zoom 65 v2 is finally coming in next week after ordering during the group buy in late January. The biggest thing I've learned getting into this hobby is you need to be extremely patient. (Or having unlimited money also helps. XD) If you do have the patience then group buys seem to be the best value proposition. The TKD Cycle7 group buy coming up looks like it will be a great value if you are just jumping on the bandwagon and missed the Zoom 65 & 75. Also, it's exciting to see that it is fully CNC aluminum compared to other "entry level" custom keyboards that use cast aluminum parts to reduce manufacturing costs.

I personally run a Keychron K8 and IMO, it's not bad. If you need a hot-swap board with bluetooth because your work gave you a laptop and you hate its built in keyboard, then the K series is probably a good start. They also have released the K8 Pro which has south facing LEDs, is customizable with VIA, and has foam included, while still being hot-swap and bluetooth capable. Saving up for that one. Keychron is generally a good recommendation for budget boards. They have almost every form factor and layout available. There are better choices, of course, but they're a good start.

Also with gateron yellows 2.0(factory lubed). This was truly something what I would say "budget"(yes, I am broke student). It got colored keycaps that caught my attention(the grey and gold matches my purple mousepad) and as someone who was using kailh red switches with some cheap ass pudding keycaps previously these switches, keycaps, etc. seemed a lot like an upgrade.

I bought a GMMK pro about a year and half ago, at that time it was like the ONLY remotely custom option you could get in France without paying stupidly high import fees. I bought an open box through Amazon warehouse (which was just opened and never used, prolly because the dude wanted an ISO layout and it was ANSI), so saved a bit of money there, bought some switches that I lubed, some durock V2 stabs, some nice keycaps and it ended up being around 250€ while sounding incredible. I tried the polycarb plate but it was meh, not holding the switches properly so I went back to the stock alu plate. Removed the internal foam to give room for the gaskets, did a tape mod and now the keeb sounds pretty incredible. Honestly I understand how overpriced it might look, but if you know what you're doing it can still be a great board at a decent price if other options are not available. Glorious is a bigger company than most other keeb companies, even keychron so their products are more available in general.

gmmk pro was a good competitor 2 years ago, but it's just a waste of money if you were to buy it now. The budget options outlass the gmmk pro, speaking from personal experience after buying the gmk67 with KTT kang whites, it sounded a lot better than my gmmk with tangerienes, and it surprized me so much. And the gmk67 build was 80$ total while the gmmk pro came to aorund 250$. So yeah I honestly dont think the gmmk pro is worth it anymore.

I love your videos and the work that you do. I owe you an apology, Hipyo. When I first started getting into custom keyboards, a little over 2 years ago, I made a comment about a 150 dollar keyboard "not really being budget friendly". I was coming from keyboards in the 25 to 50 dollar range at the time and had the opinion that 100 dollars was an expensive keyboard. Now that I've had time to assess the HUGE difference in quality and experience, BOY WAS I WRONG. I'm an IT tech, and while I have nice peripherals at home and in my own workspace, I get reminded on a daily basis when using client's stuff how much better even the 150 dollar "budget" options are that I started out with a couple of years ago. Today, I personnally don't have an issue with paying 200 to 300 dollars for a keyboard. Not only are the quality and experience worth it, but if something does happen to go wrong with the keyboard, I'm not just throwing it away and buying another complete keyboard. The same goes for not liking some aspect of the keyboard. With switches, keycaps, plates, cases, and most other parts being individually replaceable, they can be swapped out at any time. In the long run, the original investment of 150 dollars or more can actually even end up saving money. So, with all that being said, I am sorry for my original noob comment that I made. Today, I completely get it, now that I'm educated, and will never go back to what I call the "trash" category of keyboards.

I'd really like to do a custom keyboard, but I've had trouble finding a wireless option with good rgb lighting, independently controlled. I'd like each key to be programmable and the keycaps to have transparency for all glyphs on them. I really don't get the ones that only show half the glyphs. I need it lit because I use it in the dark, not just for aesthetics. Most keycaps are hard to tell what they actually look like with backlighting in the dark. Prefer the keyboard base to be black and the keys to be black. I like the color to be set by the lighting. Any recommendations?

I just bought the Strix Scope II 96 Wireless (ugh that name lol) yesterday and have been testing it out today. Hardware-wise, I'm kind of blown away by how big of an improvement this is over my Logitech G910 (with tactile RomerG switches). It sounds **amazing**, at least to my newbie ears, and I'm not fully used to them yet but the linear switches it comes with feel pretty great as well. The only downside hardware-wise is the alternate symbols not being shine-through on the number row or numpad but I can probably get past that. The big issue though is holy fucking hell Armoury Crate and Aura Creator are both such absolute garbage pieces of junk. I mean I already knew that, since I have to use Armoury Crate for some of my component RGB, but that has been an easy set-and-forget since I just prefer 1 static color for my components. But with my Logitech keyboard, I could customize per-key RGB and have a lot of cool effects happen very easily, and can switch RGB profiles per-game executable, all with a relatively smooth UI and (most importantly) very little background CPU usage. Armoury Crate comes nowhere close to that. I don't need to get into a full rant in a KZread comment but man...I'm thinking about having to return this KB just because the software is *that bad*. Maybe if the keyboard gets supported in SignalRGB things might be okay, and I see that other models of the Strix Scope II product line are supported, so....but I dunno.

Are there some of these 75% keyboards that feature a wrist rest? I know I sound like a boomer but I've gotten used to my corsair mx silent strafe with wrist rest.. That thing is super done for (leds flickering, keys broken from use and somewhat filthy) so I need a replacement now.. Appreciate the vid!

I really like royal kludge for a budget. $60-70, hotswap, usb-c, Bluetooth and 2.4g wireless on most models
