My guest on this episode is Hilary Matheson, a very talented female creative in the sport of trail and ultrarunning as well as an accomplished ultrarunner in her own right .She also just happens to be my girlfriend and adventure partner.
In today's conversation, we talk about her start in the creative space from her typical 9-5 corporate life, how she wants to impact and influence more women to do the same, some of early health issues and how that helped shape her perspective on her life, the story of how we met and much, much more.

Billy, your videos inspired me to start running again about 4 years ago, but listening to Hilary’s story really hit home with me. Thank you for convincing her to share the story about her life, her fears and her triumphs. It was incredibly motivating for me personally.

This was a great podcast. It showed the human side of extreme athletes like Hilary. I used to believe all athletes like you two rarely had difficulties finding your "groove" in the sport activity you're passionate about. Turned out that you guys also have days and times when you're just not in it. I appreciate this video.

Thank you for listening Johnny!! It’s so important to remember that EVERYONE has down days or times when things just don’t line up despite our intentions. The beautiful thing tho is we always have the ability to get back out there another day and have a new experience. Thankfully 😅
Speaking of gratitude, Hilary, I am thankful for you! You are an inspiration to others.
Just stumbled into the ultrarunning KZread world, and I must say it is filled with some of the most "capable" people I've ever been exposed to. The video production quality is just stunning. The stories are incredibly engaging. The "vibe" is about self-determination while accepting your own limitations. All while celebrating the "support" people that help along the way. What a wonderful surprise. Great interview, by the way.
Thank you for spotlighting Hilary, Billy. Your conversation was so engrossing, I definitely could have listened much longer. Hilary is so engaging and shared her stories with such openness and honesty...very refreshing and inspiring.
I'm literally hanging on every word of the podcast. Thanks so much for producing it. I recently just reached out about collaboration.
What a joyful & inspiring conversation!! Loved it!! I have been following Billy for many years now and I will definitely start following Hilary as well! You both shined on the camera, may you always be happy, healthy and creative!!🙏🙏

Appreciate these words so much!
Dear Hilary, that was so sincere and stunning , wish you guys the best that trail/ life can offer
Love this podcast! Thank you for your hard work and the creative life you share with us all.
Really a great podcast and I will watch and listen to every minute. I've seen so many of both of your videos and it is wonderful to learn more about Hilary. I can relate, too, because I had a bad car accident in 1985 that totally derailed my running career and I've been trying to play catch up for years. Now I am more inspired than ever to keep chasing my goals.

This was so well done. Thank you both for your candor!
A well spoken and thoughtful woman. I’m happy the two of you have found each other…and Charlie Salami
Thanks for sharing your stories guys!
Yay for being a homeschooler! So inspiring!
WOW!! I absolutely love the two of you together…the intellectual commonality is so apparent in this vulnerable and authentic podcast. Thank you so much for sharing so much of yourselves in this incredibly public forum. I don’t know either one of you…so I am loath to comment on who you are…but…the respect, kindness, acceptance, tolerance, humor, delight and wonder you have for one another is something to cherish. What a gift to your listeners. Thank you!

Oh my goodness. Thank YOU for taking the time to leave such a beautiful and heartfelt comment. I only hope we can live up to it, but we certainly feel very lucky to have found each other.
You two are both so inspiring!
Jubilee Paige is a female in the photography/videography/ultrarunning world that I often think about from her Aravaipa Running video days!
