______________
On March 19, 2022 a small group of like-minded adventure seekers sought out to run the double crossing of the Grand Canyon (48 Miles/77 Kilometers) in a single day. We descended down the Bright Angel trail, across the Colorado River and through the Canyon before we ascended up the North Kaibab trail to the nearly 8,300' North Rim only to turn around and do it all over again.
This is the film of our traverse through one of the most stunning places on Earth, what we brought with us, the highs and lows and everything in between.
Thanks to all the members of the Adventure Club and a special thanks to Hilary Matheson and Mark Griffith for the additional footage.

Excited to check this one off the adventure bucket list!

Thanks Billy. I'm an ultra runner recovering from a major injury. I've found myself walking, slowly, on my treadmill and watching through all of your videos. You have an innate ability to make me still feel like part of the ultra community. When I watch race coverage, especially races I had to withdraw from, its hard because I'm looking at what I'm missing. Videos like this keep reminding me why I'm working so hard to come back and why its not about the time or the finish its about the journey. It keeps my head right when my legs hurt.

"Film when you dont want to film" - otherwise you wont get that footage. I cant blelieve id pick up that camera after 40 miles but boy was it worth it mate. For me the whole video is vibing with positive energy - the smile of your girlfirend even after like 40 miles getting you distracted and up that last pitch said everything for me. Great work Billy !

Billy is back! Yet another Awesome film Billy. Thank you! A little more than a year ago I came across your channel with “the why” of 100 miles. It inspired me and I joined the trail running community by completing my first 100 with 6’200mD+ in the Swiss Alps last september. It also inspired me to start my youtube channel. It has helped me put words on my values that I am sharing with my children. It has given me a heading. For this, a big thank you and hope to see you on the trails!

From the East coast. A few years ago in my early 50s, did the South Kaibab Trail to Phantom ranch, stayed in the dorms and came up Bright Angel Tr the next morning. Went in early Oct. It wasn't easy but not tough at all. When I was coming up Bright Angel I purposely walked slow because being in those surroundings is so surreal. A true Lifetime experience. Saw one or two Rim runners, they were so focused on time that they didn't appear to be enjoying the scenery. Grand Canyon is one place where I would not run, walk and take in nature and scenery.

Great film. That’s an amazing accomplishment. I too have done double crosses but not running and no where near the speed you accomplished this in. I’ve taken a dozen people down to Phantom and back over the years. The first time I did a double cross was 4/15-4/16/2000 after doing a hikes down to Phantom and back and 2 incrementally longer hikes until I reached Cottonwood Campground and back nonstop. I took the S. Kaibab/N.Kaibab there and N.K./Bright Angle back. I made it to the north at night and walked to the lodge. I stayed in the lower level of the gazebo of the lodge where there was a sofa. The next morning to my surprise there were a number of people walking about the N. Rim when I returned to the trail. COVID-19 has stopped me from doing anything the past 2 years but I hope to return to do a double cross again by 2024.

That takes me back. We didn't run it, but we hiked the exact same path in 2 days. Same emotions just over two days instead of 14 hours. I took my shoes off at the top and couldn't get them back in because they swelled up. Wouldn't trade that amazing experience for anything!
