Siberian cats are the most adorable creatures. They are very very kind, very smart and have really character of a dog. Usually cats are quite independent creatures and like to be alone, Siberians on contrary look for a company all the time. These creatures will give best moments to an owner. Truly they are the members of the family.

We only had mixed moggy's.......and all three hated having their tummy's rubbed. One was a fiery tortoiseshell (calico) cat who'd scratch you if you tried (but she was her own free spirit), and the other was a timid but large ginger boy who'd really bite hard if you tried to stroke his tummy. Both were great cats but they made it clear very early on that their underbellies were definitely 'out of bounds' !!I I think most cats are actually like this.........apart from Forest Cats, Maine Coons, and Ragdolls. Mixed (non pedigree) moggies tend not to like this done to them from my experience. I know friends who also had mixed moggy's and they said the same.

My Siberian cat is extremely kind , never seriously scratches or bites anybody, has tons of patience. He doesn't like hugs or kisses, he is very decent, never wakes me up, hardly ever makes any noise.Very clever , knows some words, never spoils furniture or anything. Sweet , beautiful angel.😍

We just got our first Siberian kitty last week. The whole ride home in the car he kept walking on the console and stepping on the button to put the car in Sport Mode…then he jumped down on my foot on the accelerator…then he jumped back up and purred nonstop. We decided to name him Enzo. 🤣

Our Siberian only chirps when she runs up the stairs, the rest of the time she makes a noise like you're pulling her tail off, it's very disconcerting. Constant food in the mane, too. I have to keep the part below her chin trimmed during the winter. We won the Fel D1 and blue eye genetic lottery as well, she can sleep on my kid's face and not a hive is seen. Worth every penny.

They are the best. Also hypoallergenic

They aren’t actually hypoallergenic, there is no such thing as a hypoallergenic cat, but they are the closest out of all cat breeds to being hypoallergenic because of their usually low amount of allergens. This is just a thought for anyone who was maybe thinking about getting one because there is no guarantee that you won’t be allergic to it. It is best to spend a few hours with one to know for sure.

the evidence is thin. studies with small sample sizes and a broad range of values. even if the average was lower than it is for other breeds, individual Siberians can still produce a lot of allergen, and none of them produce zero.

@@gabrielcocco5188 Truth, hypo means "less" or something similar, just means that some cats in the breed produce very low levels of Fel D1.

Mine won't let us pick her up but will come and sit on my lap almost every evening when I'm back from work. She's 10 now, my beloved cat, I hope we have many more years together.

Nice! I had Siberian cat for 16 years, and he was doing high five too :D Best cat i've ever had. Not really a pet, more a family member. He was even joining us during diner and was sitting on chair like a human.

My little Siberian died at 16 yrs old end of May this year. It was no fun putting up my Christmas tree today without him.😞😢. That was one of his favorite events. It was quite an event to him. 😢😞❤

I have 2 Siberian brothers Sylvester and Oliver and they are family to us. They follow us around everywhere and are so dang athletic. But they are also cuddly. When a moth gets inside they try to catch it and will chirp constantly. Love my boys.

I have a Siberian/Calico mix. He is so gentle and sweet, but dang he's as big as I am.

I think mine is a calico siberian mix. She just showed up as a stray. She's not like a cat at all in temperment she is so loving and affectionate. She follows me everywhere.

@@skyegraham6953 Bailey follows me all over, too. But my apt. is small and as long as he can see me, he's happy. Now Duncan? He has to be all up in my business. It was funny a couple of weeks ago, we were getting tornado warnings every couple of minutes. I went in the bathroom and waited for those two. They came on, and I shut the door and waited. We were lucky, but I was texting all over the place. My two 'boys' knew something was wrong. I could go on and on, and you could, too, probably. 😊

Siberian is a breed. Calico refers to a coat pattern / colour (tortoiseshell and white).

Loves to play ? It's TRUE ! Mine wants to play all the time. She's 9 years but she plays as a kitten ! These cats are very special. They speak. When she comes back from outside, she always tells me a story. :)

I have a cat that has some Siberian genes (l'm almost sure it's an actual Siberian Forest cat). All of this is true for him with one exception - not easily distracted - can be very focussed while observing something. He almost always drinks with his paws too and constantly gives high fives by himself when he wants something. A truly adorable creature, has the tiniest meow (it seems they all have such high-pitched voices).

The Russians need to bring us a bunch of their cats. Seriously. I want one but I'm not paying $1500 for a cat. Apparently many/most cats in Russia are these guys. I wouldn't mind paying a couple hundred for a cat that's very likely a siberian forest cat. Pretty easy to tell, and I don't care about breeding or a certificate.

So true. 😂 My old lady is not a lap cat, but a true diva. She hates the vet and she only plays with scrunchies. I tried everything, she doesn't care about toys. I tried all Jackson Galaxy tricks, forget it. 😂

Everything listed is so true. You forgot to mention playing fetch! Ours hasn't learned to high five yet (she's a year and a half), but I'll teach her. Paisley greets us at the door and follows us into every room. She even likes to ride in the car and doesn't mind going shopping. If you pick up her carrying pouch, she reacts just like a dog who knows it's time for a walk when you pick up the leash. She doesn't even mind when the house is full of people when we have parties. Such a great cat breed!

My cat chirps when she sees light from the sun on the ceiling and when there’s something she wants to catch but can’t reach it, she LOVES drinking from plastic cups then kicks it so the water falls on the clean carpets. She’s a lazy cat but very playful when she has her full sleep and would bite someone if they pet her when she’s sleeping (most of the time)

I have a Siberian/British short hair mix and she is very fluffy but not as fluffy as her brother who got knocked over snot two years ago. He was only 18 months! 🥺 sox (the brother) was more playful, trusting and cuddly unlike Bella who is very timid and doesn’t cuddle for long. Even though she doesn’t cuddle she is very loving if you are close family

Omg, this is exactly what my kitten is like. Only she's half Maine coon, half Siberian Forrest. Her brother is more Maine coon, but after watching this, she's defo mostly Siberian. She has all the traits and looks the double of one too. All the funny noises and she loves her belly being rubbed, she also drinks with her paws it's so funny. And wow can she jump and climb.

She looks very similar to yours, is very faithful, loves other cats, but is terrified of all people. There are only 3 people who she'll come anywhere near including me. @John Smith Mine is a huge lap cat when we go driving. Wherever she is in the car, as soon as the engine starts, straight into my lap until we stop. Any other time the lap is a no-go zone lol. I haven't seen a Balinese before.

Agreed!! My two boys are definitely lap cats!! Though Nimbus, my black smoke, is more picky, as he doesn’t like being held and cuddled in front of others 😂 Sebastian my brown tabby tho? You sit/lay down ANYWHERE in the house, and he’s there, ready to be cuddled and given belly rubs 🥰🥰

Just like our Yanaba, but slightly darker color, but our's is definitely a Lap Cat, and she drinks with tongue. Cutest little head in a fluffy big body, is afraid outside in daylight, fears perhaps instictively eagles or something, but is a wild beast when the sun sets and feels safe, hard to get back inside the house. Has internal feeding clock that is accurate to a minute... A fur rocket when gets the Cat Need For Speed :D

It doesn't matter for a Siberian, they drink with their paws whether it's a flat vessel or not. I put water in a flat vessel for my Siberian, but he does the same as in this video. He also has the habit of pulling any food I give him off from the plate/bowl with his paw and then eating it.

On Halloween we went out to dinner as a family , on our return to our car my wife thought she heard a seagull , turns out there was a small kitten in the bushes , my two older boys and myself searched thru the bushes till we finally cornered the little rascal. And caught her . I don’t like cats but I’m not an asshole and going to let an animal get killed since it was 30 ft away from a freeway , turns out this little rascal was so kind and was injured near her eye with some bushes she was so docile and her little eyes just stared at us . We decided to keep her she is only a month old .in the morning she runs out to meet me at the table and when I pick her up she falls asleep. Guess I’m a cat person now.

I have two lovely Siberians and I'll admit, both of them are a bit weird but in completely different ways. (strange given they're family) Our older one has a habit of stealing things from neighbours on our street, and our younger one (her son) is very friendly with people, but in the sense of "Do you have food?
