Beautiful cats! Having allergies, we looked into Russian blues but ended up getting 2 Siberian boys and we have not regretted it. I show little to no signs of allergies to them and they are sweethearts. Smokey seems like a great kitty I’m glad he’s had such a loving home all these years!

Thanks Jim! Siberians are great cats, Emma is the sweetest kitty I've ever known. Sadly we lost Smoky to cancer a few months after this video was made. He's was a good boy and is missed deeply, we buried his ashes in the front yard. He was king of the neighbourhood.

@Jim Brewer We are looking into getting a Siberian, and I am very slightly allergic to cats (not all, but I'm hoping I will react less to Siberians)!! Can you share with me if they are male or female (are they fixed)? I'm wondering if this makes a difference in practice (I read neutered males end up producing about the same amount of allergen as females). Which cattery did you get them from if you don't mind me asking (or just their major bloodlines in their ancestry)! Thanks!

The cats seem to be comfortable just lounging.

Smokey is getting so old that he doesn't want to jump or open doors anymore! That's crazy that you have a Russian blue and a Siberian those were the two breeds I wanted to have!

Same here, my mom is allergic to kitties but hopefully someday I will be able to have two of my favorite cat breeds plus two rescues

Ya, he's got a lot of attitude for such a little cat. We often refer to him as our little thug.

They are indeed spoiled. Sadly Smoky passed away last fall. We buried his ashes under the front sidewalk and did a paw impression in the concrete.

Wow lots of hair and so big! They are beautiful! I have a long haired cat too she is a black Norwegian Forest cat. Lol I vacuum everyday too. I have to take the clippers to her, in her old age 15, the knots form overnight. They are all so cute! I have 3 cats. 2 black and 1 tabby. Wow smoky is big too! Too cute! Lol touching the door handle to go outside that's sooooo cute!!

Yes, Smokey and Emma are big kitties... roughly 25 lbs each. Gromit is about 7 lbs soaking wet. My wife brushes Emma every morning after breakfast and she still gets a bit knotted up. I swear there's enough hair there to knit a couple of sweaters a week. Love your channel! Thanks for watching!

All 3 of your cats are gorgeous! I love Smokey... looks like he has a bit of British Shorthair or Chartreux in him. Older cats like Smokey are wonderful... so mellow, solemn and wise. I have 4 "fur-sharks" …. ages from 10 to 17 :)

Thanks for posting! your kitties are beautiful, and so contented. I have a Maine Coon, supposedly descended from Norwegian Forest cats. Lovely breeds, these forest cats, and usually calm and affectionate. I love Smokey's color. Did not realize Russian Blues get so large.

Thanks! Sadly Smoky the Russian Blue passed away not too long after this video. He had a long healthy and happy life. He passed away peacefully at home and is buried in our yard.

You have the most beautiful cats I've ever seen! Btw the hardwood floors are good because you can actually see what you need to clean, rather than having the dander soak into carpet.

If I'm seeing this correctly Emma's beautiful eyes match her fur. I've never seen eyes on a cat that color. Shazzam! Grommet's eyes are like that too! Long haired cats are beautiful but what a mess!

Her eyes are mostly light blue and Gromits eyes are green. They change shades in different light though. Yes, long haired cats are very beautiful but shed a LOT

I'll tell them you said so. Some dogs get along with cats and some cats get along with dogs. These cats don't mind small dogs but they wanna fight big dogs, they aren't very smart.

Thanks! Our son can relate, he's allergic to cats too. He never knew until he moved out on his own and all his stuffy nose problems went away. He did end up getting a hairless cat though. Sorry to hear about your friends cat.

Hey BDOG. If you're allergic to cats you'd be in hell at my house. We do keep the space bedroom and basement cat free for visiters that are allergic. Plus it stops them from clawing up the pool table downstairs!

LOL (^*^) Age does funny things to us. I don't think I had allergies when I was in My early 20s as a nonsmoker. I was shacked up with a Girl that had a indoor Cat with his own scratching post like He was supposed to use it for stretching & had no idea people could be alergic to them. I started smoking full time around the age of 30 & quit when I was 40. I couldn't spend more than 30 minutes in a house with Cats unless I had taken a Benedril beforehand or I would be sneezing My head off. Couple years ago I went to NYC for My Nieces wedding & She has 3 of the furriest Cats You ever seen in a small apartment. I spent about 3 or 4 hours a day there without any Benedril but don't tell anybody ssssshhh

My step son is the same. He had to take antihistamines any time he was near a cat. Now he has no issues and wants to get a cat.

Bruce L. Exactly! As you walk past he reaches out and bats your ankles. We live in a dry county surrounded by dry counties so we buy 30 packs when we buy beer, he just fits.

The best for allergic people is brown! I have one and everything is fine!

Hi i'm slightly allergic and looking into getting a Siberian. Do you have a male or female? How did you learn brown is the best color--I read color makes no difference, only that castrating males does.

Брови сибирских кошек для того, чтобы снег зимой не обледеневал на веках. Кто из кошек первый появился в доме? У всех сибирских кошек есть такое мерзопакостное в характере - они ревнивы. Сибиряки признают только тех животных в доме, с которыми выросли вместе. С остальными нейтральные отношения и ревность. Может быть она себя не очень уверенно чувствует? Не единственная любимая. Часто смотрю видео из других стран о сибирских котейках. Далеко не все из них сибирские, чаще помеси. У Вас - сибирская сибирячка самая настоящая.

@@user-fm3jp8bz6v Хахаха, да, у нее действительно лохматые лапы, как у хоббита! Смоки (Русский Синий) был здесь задолго до того, как позже приехали Эмма и Громит. Мы получили Эмму, когда ей было всего несколько недель от роду. Я думаю, что она и Смоки сблизились. Громит зашел в дом намного позже и так и не поладил ни с одной кошкой. Он не ладит ни с одним другим животным. Спасибо за ваши добрые слова. Я дам знать Эмме, что ты сказал, что она красивая. Она действительно самая красивая кошка, которую я когда-либо видел.

The little guy on the bed is Gromit. I don't know what breed he is. He's very small, around 7lbs. The neighbors said he had been sleeping on the step of my house (I wasn't staying there because it was about to be demolished) for awhile and jumped into my truck when I was leaving the house one time. I tried to find his owners everywhere. No luck and now he lives here. He's a very cute little man. Thank you for your kind words.

Smoky, our Russian blue was the best cat we've ever had. He rarely did anything bad or misbehaved at all. Sadly, he passed away this past fall. He didn't shed a lot but even when he did, his hair was short and fine. Never had an issue with people that had allergies being around him.

So sweet cats you have! Smokey is 17? He looks much better than my oldest cat did at that age (he died at 21, very skinny but still happy).

Thanks! Yes, Smoky was 17. Unfortunately he died a few months after this video. He was getting thinner and thinner and when we took him to the vet he had cancer. We were able to medicate him enough that he wasn't in pain but he stopped eating and passed away in his sleep. He was a very good kitty and is missed.

Yes, he had a good life and went out without suffering. I wish our pets would live as long as us but sadly, they don't.

so what breed is the first cat? i adopted a cat from the animal shelter and i've had it for a year now and im still trying to figure out what breed she is, but she looks alot like that first cat lol

HI Tatyana. Sorry for taking so long to respond to your question, I didn't see it till now. The first cat Is Emma, she's a Siberian Forest Cat. Rag Doll and Lynx Point are two other breeds that look a lot like that. Hope that helps, have a great day!

He was a little bit overweight. He died a couple of years ago from cancer. We miss him a lot, he was a very good boy, very sweet

Cats make a house a home! Can you please tell me what breed is Grommet? I have a female that looks like him.

They do indeed. I can't imagine not having cats. I wish I could tell you what breed Gromit is. He was a stray that just walked into our house one day and never left. We had him scanned for a micro chip and checked for a tattoo, but there was nothing. We put up posters all over the place and posted his picture online but didn't get a single call about him. We think he belonged to one of the university students that lived nearby and they left him when they moved out. I've been told by the vet that he looks like he's Norwegian Forest Cat, but I'm not sure. Is your female very snuggly and kinda needy like him? He's the most people loving cat I've ever had. He goes wherever I go.

Also what breed of cat is the one on the bed?

Sorry, I didn't see this question till now. The cat on the bed is a Norwegian Forest cat/mutt named Gromit

do you have a forest around the house tho? keeping the siberian forest cat in the house all the time is just meh...mine goes outside and hunts stuff it's pretty epic

Sadly she has absolutely no interest in going outside. She's the most timid and introverted cat I've ever seen. She's affectionate around my wife and I, but she won't even go near strangers. She hides when we have company over. I've tried to take her outside in the yard and also to my sisters acreage. All she wanted to do was go home. It's too bad, I'd love to see her out in the forest hunting. I know she can hunt, because she leapt about four feet in the air out of nowhere and killed a mouse instantly when we were living in a rental house while building ours. She's solid muscle and has killer claws, but she prefers to sit in the house, sleep, eat (lots) and be sweet.

it’s funny that you have Siberian cats and a Russian blue cat I have One Siberian cat and a Russian blue I wonder how many people want Siberians have Russian blues ha ha ha ha LOL Russian blues are prone to bed teeth and that is the tearing of the eye so I would really have his teeth checked on gingivitis and gums

Thanks. It does seem that many people have both a Siberian and a Russian blue. Sadly Smoky died about a year after this video of cancer. He was such a good boy, probably the best behaved cat I've ever had.

Which one is the cuddliest and clingy?

Definitely the weirdo named Gromit. He's extremely affectionate and is always around my wife and I. Emma is very timid and likes to be left alone most of the time and sadly, Smoky (the big gray guy) has passed away.

Were did you get the cat ?

My moms got a cat that is an outside cat here in Arizona and it kills everything even killed and owl that tried to snatch her out the yard and she punks and corners my pitbull/blue healer mix when I bring him over there. Tuff cat living in coyote country and not scared of anything but my kids

They're great cats. Sadly, Smoky the Russian Blue passed away shortly after this video was made. He was the best behaved cat I've ever had.

I read the Russian blue and Siberian are hypoallergenic (or less allergenic than other cats), have u noticed this?

Hey Kristin. Neither of them are hypoallergenic (that I know of). The Siberian is worse because of her long fine hair but the Russian blue sheds quite a bit and affects people with allergies. I'm certainly no expert on this, as I have no allergies but visitors with allergies have been affected by the cats.

@@BruceLyeg The Siberian's genes have been researched. The purebreed Siberian has no gene to encode for the cat dander that causes allergy. Your other cats do possess that regular gene which causes allergies in some humans, like your visitors!
