What It's Like Taking A Precision Rifle Shooting Course - Daniel Defense Delta 5 Pro Review

Ойын-сауық

Daniel Defense Delta 5 Pro review
bit.ly/2CHLudt
When Daniel defense sent me their Delta 5 Pro Chambered in 6.5 creedmoor, I really didn’t know what to do with it.
I was never really a bolt action rifle kind of guy.
Yeah, I own a few bolt action rifles but I never really shot them that much so I decided to dive into the ocean and take a precision rifle course of sorts with the Daniel Defense Delta 5 Pro.
So I drove out to college station to meet the guys at DI Precision to get me squared away.

This makes me want to get training for my rifle and take a class like this because i just did an AR build for my birthday using a uintah precision upper making a bolt action ar15 because I wanted an ar15 that could survive an assault weapons ban sadly though I still have not finished my build yet because some parts I want just are just not in stock or where discontinued because of the pandemic but still I love what you do and want you to keep doing what you do

@@yvonvoyer5812 the assault weapon ban is because it LOOKS like an AR 15. And no, even bolt action rifles will be banned. See Australia gun laws. The only way they can own one is a lock the bolt , action and ammo separate in separate locations in their house. Sorry but your AR will still be targeted as a SNIPER rifle...... and we just caint have that in a eutopia political civilization.

Absolutely. Your life is your life. You can not depend on the police to be at every event at the time it is happening, so if you carry , you can defend yourself against the evil people in this world. Unfortunately here in nyc the people here are sheep for the slaughter & the political assholes love to hear people getting killed by bad guys. That way they can always say " we need to ban all guns" what a bunch of shit bags they are. Dummies it's the bad guys with ILLEGAL guns that cause all the problems, not the law abiding person, whom has to trust in the great hope that the police will get there fast, before the bad guy kills you.

“When I pick it up it feels like an extension of me.” That is the best feeling in the world. I have a Howa 1500 build that I went to a class with and about halfway through the class it all just seemed to click. Now that is my favorite gun. It feels like it is just a “if I can see it, I can hit it” kind of thing. It is an amazing feeling.

I bought a Howa 1500 Varmint supreme in 308 years ago. When I finally shot out the barrel, I used the action as a donor for my first custom rifle build. It was my favorite bolt gun then, and even more so now. Now it consists of a Howa 1500 short action, a GRS bifrost stock, a McGowen 24 inch 11 twist heavy Palma barrel (.875 at the muzzle), an area 419 hellfire match brake, and AICS compatible bottom metal.

I don't have a "long range" gun yet. My Ruger AR-15 would probably be the longest shooter and I feel that way about it every time I pick it up. The weight, feel, fit...it just melds to my body and I love it. I will set my sights on a good, long shooting gun but I have a feeling that I am not meant to be the sniper type. Watching these video's is starting an itch, though!

Really appreciate the video and.... welcome to precision rifle. I've been doing it for almost 50 years and I have seen your instructor shooting a match testing the EC tuner. I have shot 2-3" groups at over 900 yards in different winds multiple times just this year alone. I have several rifles capable of this but my favorite is a custom built 7 mm rem mag. I waited years to have built exactly how I wanted so I know what you mean when you say you have a relationship with your rifle. Good job on the video.

Excellent video as always. You have trained for a negative contact at close range for a while and it is eye opening to discover that if "I" engage the target further out - then my personal threat diminishes the further I can confidently engage that threat. No skill or training is un important! The further we keep the enemy at bay the safer we are! But we must posses the skills to achieve the desired outcome.

Colion….. Thank you for this video. As a owner of a bolt action rifle, I agree with you points on the need to go out and fall in love with your firearm. For me the challenge is finding a good outdoor range where I can get some real one one one time with my rifle. For me that is where I need to start developing the skill set I need to say that I am one with the rifle. I have fired it only 2 times, both in an indoor range. Finding a good outdoor range for many shooters , I feel is the bigger challenge.

Pure Magic! We got the A2s before our last rotation overseas. In the Philippines we had a live fire range on one of the islands. We were making 800 yard head and centermass shots with ease! heavy, longer barrel and the m885 round - it was pure pleasure. Plus, all the sight adjustments were in one spot! No messing with the front sight, then the rear. Just do all your sighting in, in one place! The Corps should've kept that one and made the recruits able to handle it instead of downsizing their rifles to fit snowflakes. Hell! Bring back the M1!

I'm so jealous, Colion! I soo want to take a course like that. I have a Ruger Precision Rifle I picked up for a song at a pawn shop. It came with a Vortex 6x16x44 scope. Our range only goes out to 300 yards so I haven't got to stretch its legs. I even have a new Kestrel but it's the basic wind only one.

Great video thanks. I practice a lot with pcp air rifles and a high end 22lr bolt gun I need this kind of training. Precision shooting is like a drug.

I envy you with a smile. Wish I had this opportunity also. But in the Netherlands is 300yards the max. And Yes! PRS is awesome and sort of meditation when you go up to it. I see that in this vid also. Great job Collion! And a marvelous video this is. Hope you will run more bolt action PRS.

Fjb. I learned to shoot well in the Marines. Ended up as marksmanship instructor after shooting expert during a hurricane. Got a trip to Gunsite Ranch, and trained by Jeff Cooper and his staff. Some of the best shooters in the world.

I have been debating between this and several other precision rifles. I have to say... after watching this video I'm buying a delta 5 tomorrow... decision has been made. I'm looking forward to my first precision shooting lesson. Thank you

I am so freakin' envious! I always loved it when it was Range Day, I looked forward to those days with such anticipation, I almost never got any decent sleep. Luckily, I was also a Range Safety, so I got to shoot every week! I loved it!!

You do a good job on your videos. I'm in Cali and currently fighting some gun issues I ran into. Kind of in th wrong place at the wrong time and oh ya had some of the wrong things if you live in California and a handful of other states. Anyway keep up the good work.

Great video thanks !! The Kestrel is the business !! Paralax is also really difficult for me to correct !! FUN TIMES

Literally just went to the range today and sighted in my new bolt gun. Ended up ringing steel consistently at 800 yards for the first time and its so satisfying. Just wish there was a longer range nearby
