What It's Like Driving a Manual John Cooper Works Mini!
In today's video we check out the 2019 Mini John Cooper Works Hardtop! The Mini John Cooper Works is a small car packed with a lot to offer! From two transmission options, to the dual exhaust with valve control and enough room for four people! The exterior has a very nice combo of the black with the two tone roof! It's not too aggressive, but has a nice subtle appearance without over doing any angles and blends very well!
Moving on to the inside, you have sport bucket seats which have massive bolsters for a car like this, but they hold you in place well because this is an amazing handling car! The sport suspension is super tight in turns and the steering has zero slack, it is very tight and you can corner this car very well with a slight turn of the wheel! The exhaust note is my favorite thing about this car, I was very shocked to hear it crack and pop after an acceleration or downshifting!
The Mini Cooper is so much fun to drive especially with the 6 speed manual! With a weight under 3K pounds, this is a very nimble car, and has a good sound for a 4 cylinder engine!
This is a practical daily driving car that has space for three other people or fold down the seats and put anything in the back that you can, you really have a lot packed into this small car and it has a lot to offer!

Fun Fact: Mini Cooper is the only automaker in the US that offers all of their cars in manuals. Edit: I knew this comment wouldn't age well :(

Thats unfortunate. I hate automatics.
Even in stock form the exhaust is "Epic" Car handles brilliantly and is a rapid machine...love it !!
Manual is conscious Automatic is subconscious And yes Manual is my best friend.

I sold my 2010 Mini Cooper S manual several years back and am still regretting it in 2020. Smh, man do I miss that car.

If you want to save the manual transmission, it is imperative to contact all the car manufacturers by email at their corporate headquarters to let them know you will not buy a car unless it has a manual transmission. We have to speak up on this and make sure we are heard.

That is true, but there will be models still being made with a manual for sure! Mini knows that’s what buyers want!
Borrowed this car from a friend for a weekend, lots of fun. I found the clutch is very long.. It's easy to rev match because it has automatic revmatching :)
I love this car. I am acctually working at BMW/Mini official store. Such a great car.

Ive been eyein the mini coopers for a few mnths...been thininkg about a subirau wrx..but the cooper jus migght do

Lol, I drive manuals a lot and even own one!
Downshifts are easy to rev match? What are you talking about ...it auto-blips and there is no setting to change it. Great car in 6-speed manual form ...mine is the Cooper S. I love the notchy feel of the shifter ....you never miss a gear. Great clutch too and personally I love the auto-downshifting and exhaust pops in Sports mode.

@@DANIEL3351 I was trying to do some research on wether the "rev hanging" during upshifs is an issue as I'm seriously considering getting f56 JCW. And nearly all of them forum monkeys were correcting me that I talk about rev matching and that it's a car feature... Impossible to explain to them what I mean by "rev hang" shifting up... Some of them are proper obtuse... but they all go "hehehe my DCT farts" Muricans with their sticks... Then I landed on a german forum, asked the same thing, next day I had a straight forward answer how to solve that (remap ECU), so yeah, rev hang is a thing with those 6speed manuals.

Bros FOURR Speed I so love the Mini Cooper JCW. I bought a beautiful silver 2006 997 in 2017. Yes this is nice, however the whole go cart spec of the new JCW & a manual, really gets me excited.

Egbert Garcia the most over used adjective in the car biz “aggressive” the only thing about a car that can be aggressive is the driver. Anyway it’s a matter of taste I like nice wheels, wheels that you can see the design / detail black wheels might as well be stamped out sheet metal. I’m buying a mini S shortly with silver wheels. Blacked cars is just a trend to be 😎 cheers

It only lights up green on the gauge cluster..the nav screen is separate..
