Tim is simultaneously working his butt off and living his dream. It’s truly incredible and inspiring to witness.
We greatly appreciate that you are indifferent to the companies and competition. Your pure reporting and consistent excitement keeps us coming back and glad that you are able to bring the launches to our homes. Keep it up Tim and Team!

You and Linux Tech Tips are the gold standard for going the extra mile on production of videos IMHO. Love that you built the dedicated van when cheaper options are possible, but this way you get awesome everything. Fantastic work!

The level of professionalism to film other people, who are themselves filming a rocket launch.... honestlty mind-blowing. The cool part is that Tim will actually get to see so many that this will be a logical luxury down the road

Tim's yt channel has unfortunately become the victim of the "content monster". He was on such a roll 12 months ago with content, and the view numbers showed that. But due to a relative hiatus over the last yr, he's gonna find it very hard to regain that viewership. During that time "away" or "in the lab", other channels in the space, like NasaSpaceFlight & others have emerged and have relentlessly rolled out content. It just shows that even someone as magnanimous as Tim, will get seemingly left behind by an audience ravenous for content, and who gravitate to those who provide the most of what they want.

@@HarryMollyNut It's not a zero sum game. I watch all the rest of the coverage, however if Tim is on live at the same time as anyone else's feed it'll never be a question of who to watch. I'm an Everyday Astronaut ride or die fan.
I worked in broadccast operations at NBC during the analog-to-digital transition (late Nineties-early Naughties). The early attempts were amazingly similar in terms of stress level and (lack of) success rate. A salute to your hard-working technical directors!
Always a treat when a EA video drops.

I appreciate you saying that. Behind the scenes there’s been an unbelievable amount of stress and work but you just have to shut that all out when we’re on air. Glad I can still half reasonably run a show under those circumstances!

Go team Luna !
You will be blown away by the experience. I saw Voyager 2 launched from 4 miles away in 1977. I saw the Apollo 17 night launch from 10 miles away. I went down for a Shuttle launch that didn’t go. I had a VIP pass for a Shuttle launch I couldn’t make (forever regret). BUT - i saw a Saturn V booster test firing from ONE mile away on the big stand at Stennis. A launch will be only a fraction intense because of the extra distance but exceptionally spectacular and mind blowing because it goes up in the sky! Far far less acoustic energy but visually and overall it will be thrilling beyond description - pretty much so engaging to all the senses and the tremendous SUSPENSE as it goes up wondering if it will fly as it is supposed to. A first ever launch of a new vehicle is a unique adrenaline experience which I almost had with the Space Shuttle, but didn’t. You will never ever forget it, ever!!!!
From ‘75 to ‘79 I suffered through numerous scrubs, AND five round trips from Patrick AFB to CA. I feel your pain! And as I also know, it’s SO WORTH THE WAIT! Just like watching your video to the end! ❤️
A heads up about generator noise; It can be cut down a lot by building an enclosure around it or swapping mufflers. If you have the coin Honda generators tend to be really quiet too, the small ones are just a hum
Yaay so excited for this video, love seeing the behind the scenes of this truck and the entire production. I have a ton of admiration for the incredible amount of work you all put in, it definitely pays off!
Respect to Tim for dedicating that van for the video shooting. Amazing
Remember Tim and team, we do this not because it is easy, but because it is hard. Incredible to witness this journey of yours.
I used to work for a local TV studio and we used to cover high school sports. We would arrive at like 2:30/3pm and it would take 2ish hours to set up. The kids would always ask, why get there so early? Because anything that can go wrong, WILL go wrong, and we'd rather have plenty of time to fix it! Even though everything was plugged in exactly the same in the truck every game... it still never worked!! This was a blast, so excited for your truck! I loved building and wiring mine!
This video should have been titled "The Everyday Astronaut & Friends Take a Road Trip - An Excellent Adventure !!! Seriously, a great behind the scenes look. Your equipment is just amazing. Don't worry about the kinks. We'll be patient while you work them out. Thanks again Tim.
I'm so glad that something from my neck of the woods (Connecticut) got a second life into becoming part of something that I love to see the changes and developments in.
I spent a good portion of my working career building trucks like that. You did a good job! It is a blessing how much smaller technology has made everything.
Amazing Tim (Ryan and team). Truly amazing. Thank you, thank you for what you do. Something I could only dream of on the opposite side of the world. You make me feel like I am right there with you.
I have never been so proud of being a channel member here! What you guys are doing here is amazing, keep going on all of this, will get even better knowing that you are on the head Tim. Love you guys, thank you so much for sharing this ♥
I think it's so cool that you write your own music! That you can even find the time for that! Really adds to the channel.
Thanks Tim. You are certainly living the dream. Keep making these videos so we can live vicariously through you!.
Aww man i would be sooo mad driving across the country twice to only see scrubbed launches. Mad respect to your patience and thank you for doing this! 😊

Don’t give up! I believe in you, and I understand what you’ve put into this! When I know ahead of time, I’ll always tune in.
Please, do not let this be the last behind the scenes video of luna! I hope to see more in the future, I really enjoy learning and seeing everything and everyone that is behind a stream, technical stuff and just casual chatting with the crew, even the road trip was fun to see!
"Space is Hard", so is Broadcasting Live! I do it every week and it is stressful especially when something goes wrong at the last moment! Remember even SpaceX failed three times before a full success. Keep going.
What a great video and especially the FIREFLY segment! As we are former Fireflies and having met you in Briggs following FLTA001, YOU and your entire team do an amazing job❣️ Thank you and keep up the great work!🚀
You're just so amazing Tim! So many people are watching your trials and tribulations and are loving everything you provide for us. Keep going, perseverance is what the space industry is all about and you are such an inspiration.
Thank you for letting us see behind the scenes. I worked live TV remotes in the 80s - It is very hard to make it look easy.
Hang in there Tim! You are mimicking the very thing you're trying to capture/share! I really appreciate your sacrifices, open sharing, great intellect and team attitude and recognition. You and your team are tops!!
Very cool set up. I got to cover the final shuttle launch for TIME mag. was absolutely the best assignment I've ever had. Got special access and stuff. Awesome.
I wish your highway adventures stimulating and incident free. You guys are sharing an adventure of a life time to the rest of us. Thank you for letting the rest of us tag along on your adventures and God speed
you should have a behind the scenes channel that just follows your adventures chasing launches, it will be interesting content and something I see alot of rocket nerds will watch.
This video has like all my favorite things, video production, cameras, and obviously rockets LOL! Epic!
33:46 That scream... gave me shivers like nothing else.
Any thing on the scale of Luna and all of the connections feeding her are bound to suffer from teething problems, but I am sure you will get it all playing nicely together and end up with a rock solid set-up. Keep at it, your hard work is very much appreciated by millions of people.
I really enjoyed this, seeing behind the scenes. The great gadgets, the great Teamwork. You are on a new level Tim & Team, thank you
I remember watching Tim when he made silly KSP videos. I'm so proud of you and your team. Thanks to all of you for working so hard to bring us high quality entertaining and informative content!!
Actually really loving the vlog style videos. Definitely a lot of fun to get an everyday look into the life of the everyday astronaut
The dedication one must have for this job sure is impressive. I can only applaud this effort.
Considering you are basically a startup independent news station, what you have done is impressive. Think about all the corporate news stations, space X streams, even NASA, and the budget and backing they have, and your streams are what so many gravitate too. For a used news van, brand new equipment, new setup, with a small crew to do what you are doing is amazing. You have come a long way from the orange suit. Keep it up and you will be the defacto space launch news team. Amazing rocket news footage for everyday people.
Tim, REDONKULOUS!!!! AWESOME AWESOME AWESOME! Excellent video it always inspires me to continue this journey of exploration, discovery, and innovation. Thank you Tim and the Everyday Astronaut family and space loving community.
Tim, watching you and your channel grow has been so cool. Congrats of your success and thank you for the awesome coverage. Your enthusiasm is just uplifting!!!!
Great video Tim. I have no doubt a setup like this can initially house a number of gremlins, but no doubt you and your team will get them figured out and end up producing exquisite video and coverage. Looking forward to it!
Tim, you possess amazing dedication, and the patience of a saint. I do hope that things start working out smoothly for you really soon.
Thank you all for sharing this behind the scenes look at your incredible efforts to share with us the rebirth of spaceflight. The entire team did an incredible job, for which you all should be proud. We all know how frustrating aborts can be, particularly when you have worked so hard to cover the launches. Keep your chins up. The rewards will be worth the efforts.
Space is hard. "Space streaming" can be hard too. At least you are fast iterating after a RUD (Really Unexpected Disaster), and LUNA SN2 will probably nail the next launch ;)
Hey EA, as a twenty year veteran space center (KSC) space shuttle technician, you really are living our dream. Best of luck and a little envious. Retired now but still follow all launches. As they say "we need our space."
Dude is absolutely killing it with this channel
Tim, thank you for bringing these launches to us.
I will always remain loyal to Everyday Astronaut. Fortunately, your installation will not explode if it fails. SpaceX does have that problem with the pursuit of perfection, and we can see that thanks to people like Tim. And that's why we're here, to see no more ''Rapid unplanned disassembly''. So take your time Tim and crew.
Thanks for all of your efforts. Perfection is never easy and has a learning curve. So don't worry, you will get there! 👍🏻
Glad you're finally looking in to LiveU! Not only should that fix you issues with your streams but as a LiveU Customer you can rent them for events in other countries, easily share your feed to other press orgs etc.
Love you Tim! Mad respect to you and the whole crew. This video really helps cement just how much effort goes into this, essentially, professional passion project. Absolutely amazing and inspirational. Side note- can’t wait to see the giant tower get utilized in the future!
It really hurts to see things go wrong for you - but it's all put back in the shade when you light up with successes !
You and the crew are setting a good example for people to emulate. Lots of perseverance and ambition and success. When that Firefly rocket finally launched, some of my excitement was for you guys finally getting rewarded.
Hi Tim and team, keep it up - we are all with you and hanging on your next production - you have got ready just in time for the most wxciting time...
Your persistence is incredibly admirable!! Thank you for your dedication!!
Cant tell you enough how much your work is appreciated. Much love!
EveryDay Astronaut( aka Tim Dodd...!!? ;D ) , you are amoung the GOLD standard of Inspirational space exploration posts. Promoting Space Exploration is a tough job. So thank you for your continuing efforts and in depth coverage of the efforts to extend Humanity to our part of the Galaxy. ! I especially enjoy and understand the parts about transmission tech, as I have been in that Industry for many a decade..! And so....may I say somewhat cryptically in a repairing tone , mechanical concussion impaires micro signal reception. Love your efforts Every Day Astronaut...!
Tim, one of the best videos yet. Definitely opens eyes on just how difficult space is. Keep up the fantastic work!
Keep making magical videos man... we all appreciate it more than you know
You're brilliant Tim! Thanks for everything you do!
Meeting Dr. Sian Proctor was one of the best part of the video. Thank you for all the hard work.
Wow, that starlink launch look around shot is absolute bonkers... It got the feel of the launch through so well with it showing how the rocket lights up the vast sky and makes it look like dusk for a minute as it refracts the rocket flames towards the faces of everyone around. I think I finally kind of get the feel of being in rocket launches now. Digging the vlog-like style of the vid! (and of course how cool all the shots LUNA is getting!) Maybe little vlogs here and there as b-roll when you have nothing to do but little time to spend doing something can be interesting for more video ideas!
These videos tell and amazing story! I hope we see more of these as you travel and document these amazing launches.
Everyday Astronaut casually stopping by at a RL astronaut, usual stuff everybody does O.o
Good job Tim! Easy words to say but the meaning is from the heart!
As awesome as the Falcon 9 was, I witnessed Apollo 8 and those 5-F1 engines would rattle your bones. (and I was 13 miles away) It was a life changing experience that I carry today.
You know your day is about to get better when a notice pops up about a new video from Tim!
Came here to watch the behind-the-scenes after the phenomenal success you just had livestreaming the Artemis launch... not only did the equipment deliver jaw-dropping 4/8K footage, but the livestream stayed up when NASA's live footage cut out! 👏 _Tim & team - thank you so much_ all the hard work, sleepless nights, hours of driving & stress put into bringing this content to fellow space nerds... it was absolutely worth it! _Go Team Space!!_ 💙🚀
Do worry about it because I have faith that you'll be able to do whatever you want.. Just take it slow and the peaces of the puzzle will fall into place.. I would also like to say that I very much enjoyed this video.. And I am old enough to be able to appreciate all of the hard work that goes into this endeavor that you and your team have embarked upon..!! I look forward to seeing you grow as time goes by..!! Good Luck and may God be with you in this new adventure..!! I will look forward to seeing all of you in the future.. Take care and enjoy your time, this part of your life will never come again.. Good Luck, Jimbo
Wonderful reporting, including the challenges of attending the launches. Thank you!
Thank you! This should evolve into another "Deep Dive" into the people and technology that make your channel happen! I think this was one of the best shows I've watched. It truly takes a village to make it all happen. And a lot of passion! Share the love! Great team!
Just chillin at Sian's house. No big deal. She's got an amazing collection of space memorabilia.
The engines previously flew on shuttles. The tank was re-engineered to hold the engines on the rear, capsules on the top, and a different size but same technology. The boosters were re-engineered from the shuttle boosters but because its 5 segments instead of 4 the 4 segment units would not hold up to the stress.
Thanks for sharing your learning journey with us. The path to success is rarely smooth and straight.
An amazing story of perseverance! Keep up the good work! We all appreciate your efforts!!!
I would never thought he's gonna have this kind of production quality! This is sooooo gooooooood
You should livestream an amateur rocketry launch day. You'll have multiple chances to make sure everything is working. Plus, those smaller rockets go way faster relative to the minimum safe distance. If you can track one of them, tracking a full-size space launch vehicle should be easy.
Tim, when you pass Tallahassee, Fl. I recommend the I-10, SR90, Exit 209 Staybridge Suites(N) & Backwoods Crossing(S). This overnight was the best between Ocala, Fl(Equestrian) & Tucson(Dove Mt. RC)
Tim Dodd, “The Persistent Astronaut.” You’re an inspiration!
Tim, amazing again !! Thank you. I still remember seeing you when you made the morning news years ago for taking the space suit to all those different places. Who knew years later.... You'd build it to this. The (Space) is the limit, now. Congrats.
I want to congratulate you on the awesome job you have done covering these two launches. I also like your production van, Luna. A year ago, I got to design and oversee construction a similar vehicle, called the OConsortium Technical Demonstration Van. There are a lot of similarities in the internal layout, including where the big monitors and the production switcher are mounted. Although not set up to do productions per se, we have done a couple productions with our van, as well as travel the country showing off new broadcast and media technologies. I can relate to the challenges you had on your first run out, as we had many of the same challenges on our first run. Good luck with your future coverage, and I will be looking forward to watching it!
The hard work is paying off, good luck with everything Tim!
Wow! What a treat to vicariously experience your adventures and feel the passion for such a historic time in space travel. Thanks Tim and the EA team. Bravo!
You are going to be remembered in history. Thank you for all you do ♡♡♡🚀Ad Astra
It's amazing just how much bad luck you had when you wanted to test things in a real-world launch. Hopefully LUNA sees less scrubs in the future, no matter how clean that scrubbing makes them
Thank you Tim & Team. We love to see those BTSs
This is awesome, seeing all the behind scenes. Thanks for doing this! So, interesting and fun to watch.
0:16 Why the last video about Luna? This video was totally AWESOME! And I'd love to see more.
As someone who has built several recording studios - there IS such a thing as TOO MUCH TECH!
Oooh man, I've gotta come back and watch this after my Jupiter video premieres. Love all things tech. In another universe I'm probably a broadcast nerd and work in TV or video. I loved TV production when I was in elementary school. Don't know why I didn't get into it in middle and highschool. Thanks for sharing with us!!!
I had my Alarm set last night for 12 45 am. Got up set my smart tv to the NASA app I have on it and watched liftoff till 2 am. Then got up at 6am for vet appointment
You guys are awesome, you’ll get it figured out! Keep trying y’all, I’ll be here! Thx for the insight you always relate to us!
It's great to see the progress you all are making even through all the troubles. I look forward to seeing your future successes soon to come!
Great video. Thanks for the effort you and your crew do to capture mankind's great achievement.
good to see behind those (frustrating, non lift off) scenes
