This comment reeks of ignorance. What a privilege it must be to presume that people of color somehow benefit from “blaming other ethnic groups” for their suffering. You think you have it hard because you don’t have any reason why your Mammy and PawPaw are really cousins and been living off of welfare and disability checks all their life? You don’t have the “advantage” to understand WHY you come from a line of incest and drug addiction. You and your spectacle of a lineage has had it so hard and there is no one to blame… What a sob story. In fact, I’m so sorry that being white means you have no one to blame for the inhumane lack of empathy and self awareness in which has been recorded, repeated, & proven in history time and time again.

The mainly-white countries are surely amongst the most racially diverse countries in the world, yet it is only these countries that are being singled out and called upon to have ever-increasingly more racial diversity. Where's the criticism of Pakistan for example. for not having more racial diversity? Wheres the criticism of the African nations, for not having more racial diversity ??? I don't see or hear about Inclusion and diversity in these countries, why ??? None of those things apply to me. 1.) I dont feel represented in tv or movies 2.) I get harassed when I shop ( the manager follows me around ALOT at walmart; I even find myself making obvious gestures when I'm picking up items or placing them in my buggy or paying for them because I feel so scrutinized) 3.) Ive been pulled over for no reason, been asked to step out of the truck and been searched (for no reason) I've never had anyone ask me what I do for a living (because I've never driven any car that was nice enough) HOWEVER I HAVE been asked many times who's vehicle I'm driving...and 4.) People are usually surprised that I'm articulate and well spoken. In fact I had one woman ask me where I was from... I said "This town that were in right now." She said " No I mean where are you FROM?" Confused, I replied, " I was born in the hospital in town." She kind of shook her head like I didn't understand the question and then, "I mean you must have lived most of your life somewhere else and then came back right? You dont sound like a Southerner. You dont sound like you're from around here." I looked at her and said very clearly and slowly, " I went to preschool at the ### Church (right down the road), I attended the only elementary and high school in town, I've lived in this small town /county all my life. " So I'm just not seeing that skin color has anything to do with it. I actually liked Dr Phil until now. *Idk about the credit card thing because I dont have one but I DO always have to show my ID when using a check. Yes, even in a town as small as mine where almost every one knows every one.

Maybe there were multiple people applying who were equally qualified, and they just picked someone else by chance. But, at any rate, even if we assume that your experiences losing job opportunities simply become of your race were accurate and true, I certainly don't believe the guys story in the original post. It sounds like pure BS. I'm not an advocate of affirmative action. Obviously, white and Asian people do get rejected due to their race. But, I don't think that it's as big of a deal or problem as some people are making it out to be. Blacks should obviously be held to the same standards as the rest of us. Whoever is most qualified for a job, or a school should be the one who gets it. Blacks are 100% just as capable as anyone else if they try. But, dysfunction is still reverberating in the black community from the lingering effects of slavery and racism. So, they may need a little help to get them going. But, it appears clear to me that that is changing drastically within the black community. I think that the vast majority of blacks are now just as capable as any other race to achieve success in any field that they choose. So, imo, affirmative action should very soon be coming to an end. And, regarding "diversity hiring", that should have never existed in the first place. In fact, I believe, without a doubt, that "diversity hiring" (& affirmation action for that matter), is a constitutional violation, to deny someone a job/school (eg. a Caucasian), based solely upon their race. And, the constitution will absolutely protect anyone who can prove that they have been denied due to their race.

Another example of white privilege is that white people don't have to deal with race issues at all if they don't want to. If you're the majority, you tend to be the default and you're not forced to adapt to the culture of another race of people. People who aren't white are forced to adapt to white culture in some ways and are affected by it in sometimes negative (and sometimes positive) ways.

I have to ask a few questions to anyone stumbling upon this comment and demand you answer politely so we can have a productive conversation : 1- Would you say that minorities face certain disavantages regarding jobs, education, opportunities in the US ? If your first answer's yes then is it possible that the problem most people have with the white privilege concept is the name ? Would calling it minorities disavantage (or something along those lines) make more sense for you ? In that case, would you agree that many people will face terrible hardships in their lives, no matter their skin tone ? But then (and this is where it might get controversial), wouldn't it be fair to say that no matter the many hardships white people may face in the US it's won't ever be because of their skin color ? I also want to state that not all people of color suffer hardships from their skin, in fact some might be more privileged because class privilege comes BEFORE race privilege, and so skin tone doesn't automatically mean you're privileged or not of course. If you disagree, I'll be very interested to have a CIVIL and POLITE conversation in the comments below ⬇️

I understand where you’re coming from the only part I disagree with is “not all people of color suffer hardships from their skin”. If you’re referring to globally there’s definitely some truth to it HOWEVER since we’re communicating in English id like to assume that you’re referring to the United States. And if you are referring to America, please believe that if you’re of color (non-white) racism is inevitable. And it just comes down to the fact that white people don’t need to teach their kids the same things as others. So if I have to teach my future kids about racism knowing that they most likely will endure it, but yet white folks don’t have to that’s when the “privilege” is evident. Long story short if you’re white you have the luxury of never experiencing or having to worry about racism whereas other ethnic groups DONT have that kind of luxury.

As a bi-racial woman, I can tell you that “White privilege” is definitely not a “myth,” and I am a conservative, politically. HOWEVER the way in which the left describes white privilege is an over exaggeration and many of the aspects they have added in are not real. White privilege, from my lifetime experience is that when you are born white, you NEVER have to think about race, you are NEVER viewed as racially inferior, you are NEVER looked at as violent or lower class simply based on the color of your skin. In addition, the media and entertainment overwhelmingly represents you, your look and culture is considered the “norm,” when white women go to stores they automatically have your skin color in bandaids, makeup, etc.

But because of my skin colour I've bean beaten up by a group of darker skinned girls, and constantly harassed in my younger years by people of colour.Less now because I just don't try to be friends with clearly racist people. I've been followed around the store and looked upon with suspicion because of maybe what I looked like idk. It's called discrimination and it happens to people of all colours. I've been beaten by police. And I'm white and thats my experience. I've also experienced violence & oppression by my ex partner who is far more privileged than me economically and status wise. @@eggsbenedict8449 Please do not group me with every person of color. You honestly sound like a flaming racist. Did you even READ my original comment? I am a conservative politically and do not agree with the liberal definition of “white privilege.” I don’t believe in systemic racism, I don’t believe one’s skin-color holds them back from success in my country (America.) However, White privilege does exist in the sense that if you are black or even bi-racial, you are subject to negative stereotypes daily. In addition, you are made to feel (especially as a woman) that you are ugly if you have kinky hair or black features because European features are the standard of beauty. Even though I am very light and resemble Meghan Markle (I am told this almost daily) I as a child was called the “N” word multiple times growing up in a white neighborhood, most of the baby dolls and barbies I saw in the toy store as a child were white, I was teased at 4 years old and told I was adopted by the neighborhood white kids because my birth mother is white with blond hair and blue eyes. This brings about pain and a realization that you are viewed differently by society VERY early on. You are white, and obviously a racist and extremely ignorant so you will never, ever understand this. Not ever. Being born white affords you the privilege of never having to be looked down upon because of your race, and society represents you as a whole. If you deny this I seriously question your IQ.

There is privilege all over the world but here in America we went through slavery, segregation and the civil Rights movement. A lot of people who are here never had family that actually went through what most of America did before the 1970s and comment on the privilege from around the world not knowing the discrimination that came before their families came to America that experience the privilege of milder racism and discrimination. White privilege stems from a time before the civil Rights. The civil rights movement was viewed as an attacked on white privilege. Today we speak of it not knowing it's roots. It is very much relevant today because it is now within our systems known as systematic racism where by racism can be applied indirectly. Most w. people today don't know they have white privilege because they are actually experiencing it. It's never been about one group working harder than another or one group being more intelligent than another it's always been about political systematic control. There is a fear amongst the privilege that they will lose control. So they create these systems so that they will remain in control. This system allows them to pick and choose what best suits them and their needs while maintaining power. We see this today in different areas such as banking where the banks want to control and not allow others to play like them with unfair lending rules. One group seeks to stay in control and not allow others to have access to do business fairly. It suits the banks to keep things the way they are so that they could charge and make money off of fees that would otherwise benefit the entity doing the work. White privilege is very much similar such that it perpetuates a way of thinking that was challenged before the civil rights movement that was meant to allow equality amongst our society so that the best person gets the job instead of the privileged. And nepotism and privilege today is what is making our country week and susceptible to infection from foreign invaders as we are seeing and a decay can of our society's fabric. If you are a person of privilege it's not because you work harder than others it's simply because you look a certain way that resembles ancestry of a defeated South.

What is Privilege? a) Privilege is wearing $200 sneakers when you’ve never had a job. b) Privilege is wearing $300 Beats headphones while living on public assistance. c) Privilege is having a Smartphone with a Data plan, which you receive no bill for. d) Privilege is living in public subsidized housing where you don’t have a utility or phone bill and where rising property taxes, rents and energy costs have absolutely no effect on the amount of food you can put on your table, which is largely covered by Government Food Stamps. e) Privilege is having free health insurance for you and your family that's paid for by working taxpayers who often can't afford proper health coverage for their own families. f) Privilege is having multiple national organizations promoting and protecting just your race alone -- that are subsidized by federal tax dollars. g) Privilege is having access to a national college fund that supports only one race. h) Privilege is having a television network that supports only one race. i) Privilege is having most of the media news networks refuse to cover incidents wherein one race (one-eighth of the population) commits 50% of the crimes. j) Privilege is the ability to go march against, and protest against anything that triggers you, without worrying about calling off from work and the consequences that accompany such. k) Privilege is having as many children as you want, regardless of your employment status, and be able to send them off to daycare or pre-school you don’t pay for. l) Privilege is being able to vote in many states without showing a driver's license, voter ID card or other credentials -- just because your race claims they should be exempt from such requirements. m) Privilege is being able to riot, loot, commit arson and tear down historic monuments without consequences -- just because you don't like folks such as Columbus, U. S. Grant or even Lincoln. n) Privilege is being able to get into almost any college of your choosing based on your race, not your grades or merit o) Privilege is having most of your life paid for by the working men and women who DO HAVE TO DEAL WITH RISING TAXES AND COSTS! you know, those you now call “PRIVILEGED.”

Based upon Dr. Phil; White Privilege is a special right, advantage, or immunity granted or available only to a particular person or group. It's also an inherent advantages possessed by a white person on the basis of their race in a society characterized by racial inequality and injustice. ,Based upon these definitions, there are some whites, who fit within this definition. I mean SOME whites. However, there's other groups of peope in America, who enjoy similar privileges as well. Although race is a factor and only a factor, there's two other factors that redefine the word privilege to a whole new level and meaning: 1. Wealth; this factor transcends all people who are lucky enough to be a part of it. Wealth and riches could change everything in anyone's life. Some people would say money isn't everything, however, money is an enourmous advantage to those who have it. 2. Connections; this factor enables people to get what they want due to not what they know, but who they know. You could be very intelligent and responsible, but if you don't have family, relatives nor real friends in positions of influence, then you'll most likely won't live up to your full potential. There is a third factor and it should be taken into consideration. 3. Wisdom; knowledge and rightful judgement are important for anyone who wants to fulfill their goals. Determination, resolve, motivation and commitment are factors as well. So race, religion, national origin, and enthicity are only limited factors to obtaining and maintaining privileges in America and beyond!

I'm white skinned. My heritage is Irish, we were annihilated by the English and racially cast out when we moved to England.. No Irish no blacks and no dogs... My ancestors worked in the mines not one of them were better than anyone else. So how am I more privaledged than the rich african Americans or Asians? My ancestors were annihilated. Yet I am of some sort of privaledged class because an American cop is less likely to shoot me (I'm simplifying). Also whilst I'm on one so the old days where the Barbary pirates who enslaved Europeans... Can I ask for some cash in lieu of a sorry? I need a new kitchen so reparations from them and the vikings and the Norman's and the English..cant wait for the ching ching into my bank account

So, lets be clear! White-Privilege started back in the early 1600’s when European immigrants were gifted an “𝗲𝗰𝗼𝗻𝗼𝗺𝗶𝗰 𝗴𝗲𝗻𝗲𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗼𝗿” just for making the trip across the Atlantic to the new world. Starting with the British empire’s “Head Rights” program; and later by the US Federal Government’s ”Land Grants” and “Homesteading Act”. European immigrants were gifted on average 50 archers of land, plus free labor to work that land. (𝘍𝘳𝘦𝘦 𝘭𝘢𝘣𝘰𝘳 𝘸𝘢𝘴 𝘬𝘪𝘥𝘯𝘢𝘱𝘱𝘦𝘥 𝘦𝘯𝘴𝘭𝘢𝘷𝘦𝘥 𝘈𝘧𝘳𝘪𝘤𝘢𝘯𝘴.) After the Civil War, the US Federal Government was so enthusiastic about gifting European immigrants an abundance of equity, the US government gave away 2 Billion archers of land within 24 hours flat during the Oklahoma land rush. And not one inch of equity was gifted to African-American citizens …As they were newly freed slaves. Remember, the US advertised for Europeans to travel across the Atlantic Ocean. This means Europeans benefited from the first “𝗔𝗳𝗳𝗶𝗿𝗺𝗮𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝗔𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗴𝗿𝗮𝗺”! Affirmative Action as a concept, not law. Let’s not be confused! Since this time, White-Americans have been receiving benefits from the Federal government that poses equity. This equity is a benefit that grows in value exponentially over time. This value may be passed down through their lineage as it continues to grow. White-Americans also receive ongoing equity from the US Federal Government in the form of subsidies, low interest loans and very generous tax breaks. The group known as African-Americans have never ever received such a thing as “Equity” from the United States government. However, African-Americans do "𝗿𝗲𝗰𝗲𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝗮𝗰𝗰𝗲𝘀𝘀" to government programs. Yet programs don't have equity, and can't be passed down through lineage. African-Americans still await 40 archers and a mule. Only White-Americans are intentionally privileged! …or White-Privileged!

Go to Liberia then. That continent hasn't made it past pre-ancient tribal era so it never would've, without knowledge from the west, the (modern day Middle eastern) arabs (who founded Egypt), the far east that are Indians and especially Chinese. All of those advanced and progressed whilst even today, those in that continent are still living in ancient times and even those with help, funds, infrastructure, trade from the rest of the world they are still regressing with no intervention Liberia is the funniest, you know ex slaves went there and claimed the land for their own, then ironically enslaved the 'natives' but still are hilariously primitive (their 'top scientist' doesn't believe ebola exists but believes in witchcraft 😅) so don't think the rest of the world needed your people to advance cause even when you enslave your own people you're still stuck in ancient tribal era hahhaaaa

I have the privilege of working hard paying for my own education, buying a house having a family, all of that and more because I earned it! If your rights have been revoked then yes I have a problem with that! There’s a huge difference between the two!!!!!! Even if I was born into a rich family and had that privilege- which I didn’t- that would not be my fault lol! Because my family worked hard to give me a better opportunity to achieve my goals has nothing to do with the fact that your family didn’t do the same. Just saying white privilege sounds completely racist to me! Stop blaming and do something for yourself like so many great black people have done and never blamed a white man for achieving their goals

i love that these topics are being discussed in america, in Germany discrimination is on steroids, everyone knows it and no one wants to stop it or talk about it because it's a racist society, in fact i don't know a single POC in Germany who didn't face discrimination based on their skin color.
