What is Umbrel? - An OS for a Personal Server and Bitcoin Node Explained in 5 Minutes!

Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль

Personal servers are becoming a reality and I want to introduce to you what exactly Umbrel is, why it's important and what you need to know for this personal server, part Bitcoin node. Get free Bitcoin: davidutke.com/coinbase
Umbrel is an operating system designed to run a Bitcoin node. While mining rigs are nodes and require expensive technology, to actually run a BTC node by itself is not to complicated and you're helping to secure the network.
Umbrel is an operating system that allows you to use various apps like BTC Pay in order to accept payments as well as apps to manage content like videos, pictures, passwords and more.
You have two options to get started, you can either buy an already made Umbrel machine from "The Bitcoin Machines" or you can build on yourself and then simply install Umbrel. Personally I'm more of a DIY person so I would buy all the parts myself so I really understood how everything works together.

So what do you think of this personal server stuff? It's hard to comprehend, sort of like the transition to having a home computer or a smart phone. As they say it's worthless until it becomes priceless. Also checkout my overview on the best exchanges for Americans: kzread.info/dash/bejne/ZWSWz5iLYKWtYdo.html

If I was not leaving for Thailand shortly I would totally buy one to check it out - the Raspbery Pi is actually difficult to get now thanks to the shortage going on in the US.

Hey David, do you think using Umbrel as a personal server as well as a Bitcoin node exposes your Bitcoin node to any sort of risks or attacks? I don't know much about this stuff so just wondering if there are any potential risks to consider. Thanks

Does running this node earn Satoshi?

Yes, you get a small fraction of each transaction routed through your node. Emphasis though on small fraction.

I do not think this is correct. You earn nothing. If I’m wrong, please explain where these Sats end up on my node?
