What is the ShouldeRök?

Спорт

What is the Shoulderok? The Shoulderok was inspired by Ragnarok -- the Viking prophecy about the destruction and rebirth of the world. The Shoulderok is a precision loadable tool for today's barbarian, designed to break down the shoulder into its basic operating elements, rebuild it, and make it stronger. The Shoulderok will challenge you and bring your shoulders into a new age of strength.

I work professionally as a welder/fabricator. $50 won't cover an hour of shop time let alone material costs. $260 is actually a good price for what they're building and the attention to detail involved.

so it's just a big indian club? One of the most ancient yet greatly effective tools there is. I probably can find a much cheaper version. I think they are sold as clubbells today

Emir EC no. Indian versions are half the length and much heavier (can’t adjust) and these are about 48” long and can adjust for extra weights. My friend has one I just saw an hour ago

Would it be appropriate to use for someone that suffers from shoulder impingement? Would it aggravate the area if shoulder is already is bad alignment or position? Also, (separate question), is it ok for someone with a slap tear to use it?

This is a good question to be answered. I haven't found anything on this topic yet and I'm in the same shoes, plus I don't want to worsen the issues. Overhead things can exacerbate impingement issues.

+MD B you must be pretty ignorant. The real value is in the instructional content that comes with the device to learn how to use it properly. Its also a high quality, well built piece that would take many hours to replicate. Unless you work for less than 10 cents an hour and are some sort of genius with movement patterns, then buying this is a good deal.

Hi Chris, I have just been diagnosed with bicep tenditous after pushing through pain with the bench, overhead and low bar squats. I am currently having it rehabbed but would the Shoulderok be a good method of preventing further pain in the future and help strengthen the whole shoulder i guess? Also, do you ship to the UK? Sorry for all the questions!

Can the shoulderok be utilized to improve the strength of the joint? Can it incrementally be used to improve the strength of the shoulder after a rotator cuff tear? What are the different use cases?

I'm going to have to make my own. I can't spend $150 on this product. I'm in need of better shoulder mobility and stability, but I can't see myself carrying that to the gym and if I'd use it at home I'd also need to purchase plates raising my total expense WELL over $200 with shipping.

Just listened to you on the podcast with Mark Bell. Can't believe I hadn't already found your channel! So I would assume part of the the theory with this is that you can progressively overload your shoulders safely with this as opposed to static mobility stuff? Can't really add weight or create a strength pattern with stretches I guess.

Johann Kiesler It's plate loading so adjustable. Clubbells are fixed weight so you need a lot more of them to cover a range of athletes and uses. Also, the Shoulderok is more like an exercise mace. Clubbells are a modern (heavier) Indian club, the comparable piece of equipment from that lineage to the shoulderok would be a gada. There are plate loading adjustable maces, but Chris has designed this thing so that the plates are retained much more securely and generally put a lot of thought into it. It's a nice piece of work.
