    Do have a look at the Certina DS Action Diver 38mm. Think it is stunning in blue or black. Powematic 80, anti reflective coating, 300m certified diver for £588 in UK. Not bad affordability.

    I got the same deal months ago. There have been warnings that to service could be a nightmare sue to the properiety movement. However, on the Certina website the costs are about equal to my watchmaker ( could be quicker as well..) & there's a service just to redo the,seaks. No, I'm not on commission: the 19mm just ' no', even though I see it as a design choice to calm my annoyance. Apropos: the antique section ; Guy says ,'wind-up' - just marvellous.

    I bought an Orient Triton watch from Creative Watches in Singapore for a great price. Within two weeks, the crown came out of the watch. I called Creative and they were a real pain on the shipping and warranty issues. Then I called Orient USA. They too were no help and would sell me a new part or charge for service. The warranty on the gray market watch was dishonored. Buy a watch from a Authorized dealer only. Randy-IL

    The warranty on Grey market watches are generally never honored by the manufacturer from any brand. That’s a pretty expected outcome.

    Singaporean here too, sounds like that online shop is a no-no if they state there is some warranty coverage. My perspective of grey market watches, they can be cheap but be prepared to pay for it should there's issues. Worst if the manufacturer turns down your watch, which I don't think they will, a professional watch clinic should be able to do it. If the watch is still in circulation, I don't think you should avoid buying it as brand new, it reaps more benefits in long term than getting a grey market.

    I just started to get a collection. I plan on having 1 standard moon phase watch with a leather band, a American brand with a blue dial and silver band manual and 1 quartz sieko maybe woman's tank style for a classic vintage look.😊 No rolex or omega maybe a cartier.

    A great format Guy, some great comments to the questions asked. Your presentation style is direct and to the point that is something lacking on some channels. Thanks for sharing. As for collections my collection is now split with mechanical, quartz and digital. I guess it depends on what the days forecast of activities are that will somewhat decide on which watch the goes on the wrist.

    The correct order for the poll should’ve been (is): Casio, Timex, Orient, THEN Seiko. I don’t even know what Hamilton is doing on the list.

    As you said, Guy, a 2-3 watch solution might work for most people. I for myself have a Seiko SKX as my sports watch / daily beater, and so far it has turned out to be extreamly tough and reliable, taking any beating and changing temperature conditions without any problems. A reliable watch grows on your wrist, in my case so much so that my dress watch Tissot pr 150 gets only little attention. Besides, thank you sp much for all your words of wisdom, cheers from Germany

    Thanks for standing up for Hublot haha!! Bought my very first watch, a Hublot Classic Fusion Racing Grey Titanium. That was when I am not aware of the hate and abuse on the brand. People can just find thousands of reason to justify the hate, just because of this YT guy Nico leading the hate movement. Love their watch, not too sophisticated and rubber strap like no other brand, it's easily paired up with any occasions, and they're eye-catching too. Ignoring the hates aside, regardless of the opinions, I'm looking forward to add another Hublot watch into my collection. If you don't like, just move on, simple. Don't be the herd leading a group of sheep spreading negative vibes for those people who really enjoyed it. The world lacks kindness and we do not need any more negativity.

    In Taiwan, for Rolex, you can take the watch to the service center for the regular maintenance. If there is something wrong with the watch, they won’t accept your watch. Kind of authentication.

    Hello Guy. Having an Apple watch on during your videos is distracting for a watch enthusiast channel. It's disposable tech that tells time... Yes every one is different but Me personally an Apple watch is tech not a wrist watch. Great videos.

    I can tell you what the problem with Orient is. Its designs aren't very appealing. As much as I like the brand, they always have to mess it up. The straps are also kinda cheap looking. You don't get that solid feel.

    Hi Guy good episode. However, in the whole history of Hublot, there isn't a single watch that can be said to be good looking, in the classical way. It just shows how people's perceptions of design can be influence by marketing. It is sad TBH. Richard Mille, the same. I'm not saying they are badly made watches. They just look terrible.

    Hello Guy, I'm a long time fan of your channel and your videos. I've recently started to develop some interest for Omega. Right now, an Omega watch is not something I can afford but buying one at some point is definitely becoming a longer term goal of mine. I've been wondering a lot about external ARC that most Omega (sport)watches have. I know it's something that can scratch up, giving crystals a somewhat messy appearance. What is your take on the matter, and do you have any experience with this? Some background information: I enjoy wearing mechanical watches a lot, but I for one want my watches to look (as close as possible to being) as good as new. People on forums tell you all the time that scratches give your watch character. Well, while I value that opinion, I for one I don't care for that, at all; and even if the clasp, the bracelet and even the case scratches up to some degree, I want at least the bezel and the sapphire crystal to look as tidy as possible. Thanks for addressing this, Imre from Hungary

  • @JustBlueFish

    @JustBlueFish

    Good question. I’ll include this one in next week’s video and go more in-depth but the short answer is I don’t worry about scuffing up ARC on crystals. If it happens, it’s not that noticeable and you can always replace the crystal when the watch get serviced in the future.
