Staying Resto Shaman like 17 years, i love these class too much i think but it's the best class fantasy i see so far in many rpgs

I found disc priest to be extremely fun in 10 man content since you actually have to use your entire toolkit. And doing the Lich King fight as disc priest is just extremely fun, particularly in 10 hc.

Resto Druid is my favorite and still feels similar to me in retail which is why it's still my main spec. In wotlk I had a higher rating on my Holy Paladin but it still wasn't as much fun as my Druid.

I think holy priest has always had the best tool kit and it was my healer of choice in BC, but I rolled resto shammy in Wrath and man did I have fun. Something about that class really resonated with me and I played it well. The class could really pump. Hard carrying groups through heroic Halls of Reflection or Pit of Saron was very satisfying.

The most fun I've ever had playing a priest period was in cata! Absolutely loved playing disc and shadow in there expansion.

Been looking for vids like this; where the focus is not mad chase for optimality but rather fun and joy from playing the game.

disc priest usually dont bubble the tank anyway because they dont want to proc rupture too fast for 1 target. it's better to wait and have 7-8 rupture proc at once. so holy priest can body and soul the tank np.

I main a shaman healer but i think Druid is more fun just because of the insane utility they bring to 5 and 10 mans. You can go from a healer to Bear form and hold threat on a mob if your tank eats it and end up saving the party from a wipe. In BGs you can mask the fact your a healer by going cat form and sitting kn the sideline letting others get focused first and then going tree form and blasting heals away. By the time the enemy team realizes the tree in the back the damage is done.

I love these and just hearing your opinion on fun. While not a tier list it’s nice to just see the ins and outs and gives me an idea of what I’d probably enjoy too! As someone who’s tanked since ‘04-shadowlands please do tanks next/soon!

Played a little holy priest back in wrath. The things u could do in 10 man raids was insane. Holy pala died early on nps, 1 or 2 inervates and u could solo heal alot of fights. Wasnt easy but SO much fun.

Good holy priests can damn near 1 heal most fights in 10 man icc

Proc based mana management on a holy priest is huge. As a good Holy priest, you can get outside of the 5 second quite a lot, thanks to surge of light, Inner focus, and being able to put two hots on the tank + Guardian spirit so you can and ignore them while you regen. It's similar to what you were saying about how Paladins can regen. I'm pretty sure prayer of mending can chain proc surge of lights as well, extending how long you can stay outside the 5 second rule, if you have enough crit. Body and Soul can actually let the tank kite some bosses during oh shit moments, like when all your other healers died to mechanics in 25 mans. I finished a long ToC fight with all my other healers on the floor thanks to casting Body and Soul on the tank, Lightwell, and a tank with rocket boots. Kept 16/18 raid members alive solo for 1-2 minutes and two of the people who died were rogues who intentionally pulled agro so they could evasion tank when I needed to regen. It let the tank bandage/lightwell to full With enough crit, Glpyhed Prayer of healing only has to hit 1.2 targets to be as mana efficient as Greater Heal on single target healing, due to surge of light procs.

@@musicenjoyerbecause everyone steers from them cause it isn’t meta. What makes it difficult is you have multiple options with one gcd and if it isn’t used properly you lose tons of HPS. Basically need to stack serendipity, and you end up healing like a holy paladin or a resto shaman depending how how you use your stacks and procs. Way more skill than any other healer.

As I do prefer to heal I appreciated this. Looks like 2 of my 5 will be a holy pally and resto shammy. Again thank you so much for the discussion to explain each selection. So many dont add that

Tried it through all BC classic, commited to stick with it the whole Xp ack and I managed. Been a healer 13 years out of 16 playing lol. Honestly, I never played it before until now. Now I can finally say: It is a mix of fun and boring. What I always loved about healing is the freedom it gives: every pull can be different and there´s no "rotation" or even priority list.. it´s totally up to the need / plan. But resto has so little to play with... You have to follow 2 basic rules and that is 80% of it´s healing. Keep x3 x1 and use CDs to give some burst every now and then.. in all tanks. Your heals keep getting snipped and it is simply frustating. At the same time, there´s something about how powerful it is that makes it fun. With decent gear, you are simply unkillable, HoT up while moving and you simply cannot die. But tank healing, you cannot keep a tank by yourself. The most basic Kalec fight in SWP: Sure, I can solo heal the tank up, but going down to the demon, I can´t hold the tank alone, eventually he will simply die (and I know what I am doing). Fun but frustrating when you have mained a priest for a decade, a monk 2 years, holy pala a year and also played resto shaman a bit around.

Shaman was the most fun I’ve had as a healer in WoTLK, but Druids always my main because I just love the style which is a little Disc Priest + Shaman. And shaman can truly pump out healing but they have so much Utility that it’s just the only super buff enhancement healer.

Comon man its not that bad, I actually love holy pala above anything else i've played (didnt try all tbh)

My first ever wow character that I capped was a Discipline Priest on a wrath server. I've been sitting here conflicted between seeing how much better I'll play it now that i have years of experience healing in mmos and taking the oppurtunity to play something else, like the warlock i never finished.

I love and deeply missed disc bubbles. And the sound of the spells were sooo cool.

Two types of Holy Paladin, FoL build and HL build. I played FoL while another in my guild played HL build. That flash build was so much fun and it was very fast paced with 1 sec casts and shield casting with shocks on CD utterly crazy gast paced.

With ICC gear haste holy light goes down to 1 sec

Prot Pala and druid for dungeons is insane since they can heal and move and you just chain the whole dungeon basically

i like holy pally purely for beacon of light, when u cast a massive holy light when both tanks are low and theyre both just instantly topped off

The holy pally once you get your jc trinket, some badge gear and start gemming straight Int, you’ll never have issues with mana.

I'll be honest, I've played everything but a Priest in WotLK, even on private servers, and this list makes me want to have a Holy Priest alt for the fun of it.

There is one other major factor in this IMO, and that is how relaxed you feel when you play your class. As druid and disc priest there will come a time where you feel like there is nothing more you can do and whatever happens happens. But as holy priest you're always relaxed even if there is a lot to do, just because you always have something to save the day, paladins also have lots of "panic" buttons.

Was literally wondering this last night then you bring this video out. Get out of my head!

comparing the Holy Priest to the Priest of Discipline I think the former is definitely more fun, especially on rhc runs, because the acceleration allows you to finish faster. Also, I love healers that can heal by playing with one hand only :D I also remember that once in the future when I had a well-geared priest I was able to heal all rhc using only holy nova

I for one exactly saw your top choice coming. Holy priest is the ultimate lifesaver. No other spec is more suited to saving idiots from their doom.

Or... making them walk all the way back through an instance because they stubbornly plowed ahead without letting you get ready for the next room (or even collect all the quest pickups, since no one could be f*cked to share the quests). Put an end to that behavior real quick.

I'd rate fun as: Disc Priest, Resto Druid... .. yup thats it. they're by far the best raid heals while capable of main tank healing in non-heroic raid. Heroic is pushing it until they're more BiS territory. over all best though i'd still say Disc, but i'm bias my main was priest ;-)

My fav was disc priest, dont think it was possible to run out of mana.

Gonna go resto/ele shaman. Always like shaman and WotLK to me is the pinnacle of the class.

My main since Vanilla has always been a rogue, but I absolutely love healing with my priest, so my main in the Classic and TBC Classic servers is a healy priest. So much fun.

Im going to Play Restro-druid. I played one Back in the days and was allways toping the Meters. In 10mann you can also solo heal so much stuff, If you have the Gear. So i remember. :D

Resto druid enjoyer here. I'm absolutely looking forward to Wrath.

Holy Priest is also very mobile and feels like a fast paced healer! When played well, they can put out the highest HPS. It's my fav as well for sure :)

@@toglfo How are other classes going to do that with those instant / faster AOE heals in fights with heavy AOE damage? I've played every healing class in WOTLK back in the day, outhealed all with my holy priest. You just need to know how to play it. E.g. don't focus on haste but on SP and crit.

@scottejaye can you test disarm on the beta. see which disarms you can still equip a shield with. on warmane all disarms make you unable to equip your shield to shield wall or block. im curious if thats correct or not.

I’m playing holy priest. I played it as main back in original and it really was fun. If people don’t want me cuz they think pally is better then that just means they aren’t any good trying to min max an old easy game. Can’t wait

I played resto druid back then and solo healed almost all phase 1 content. 25 and 10 man. I was solo healing os 25 , os 25 +1 and +2, never got the Chad comp for a +3. But most fun is a personal opinion.

did you mention, as a holypaladin, you will/can use Hand of Salvation, BoP etc on other targets in raid.

My favorite is the Resto shammy. Although i haven't tried the holy pala yet.

Imo, wrath is the first expansion where healing was actually fun, oddly enough it's also the expansion I switched to DPS LOL

Holy priest is definitely fun with many tools and options. I played holy paladin in classic..tbc and the 1 button healing..single target gets dull fast IMHO

I usually didn't heal, was always DPS or tanking. My healer was Shaman that would rather ranged DPS as elemental.

Holy Paladin was the most fun, by far, to me. Disc priest and Resto druid were my follow up. Good video!

ideal healer comp in 25 mans - 1x Hpal, 1x Disc, 1x Rdruid, 1x Rsham, and 1x Holy/Shadow wing priest, and 1x Holy/Ret Paladin - With second Priest and Paladin swapping for fights as needed

What healer class has high burst aoe and dot heals. So something that can just keep popping heal overtime aoes. I'd also like to be able to shield my allies or mitigate damage somehow from them at least a little. But my main priority is to make sure there's a heal overtime going around on everyone so I don't have to be constantly worrying about others and I can just use a simple loadout and pop moves when I need too. I'm a very caring person and I want more than anything for others to feel encouraged, positive and comfortable and I'll do anything I can to help others with that. Helping, and giving to others is what I enjoy the most. But it would also be nice to find a healer that fits my playstyle so I can better help others. The only reason why I want to get strong in video and find a class that fits my playstyle is so I can help and project others in any way I can. So I'd appreciate any help.

Resto druid is arguably the most versatile and interesting healer. Shaman a close second because of totems and other buffs. Holy paladin is literally a 1 button wonder. And disc priest isn't much different except you also shield people.

Holy priest is also the first healer to get benched/asked to spec dps for farm runs when you don't need a full heal team to clear content.

Holy priest: all your heals are cute... I deny you the ability to die!

You’ve obviously nailed wotlk pve. Like everything done to a beautiful science. Ever consider taking that to pvp ?

Holy priest is the most amazing healing gameplay but I can’t really hold its on against disc or druids on 25 raids

Holy Priest was a blast. But I'm conflicted, because I never experienced the other healing classes in Wrath, because I missed the first half of the expansion due to work/life balance

@@Frostfear I suppose it's a factor but I wouldn't say it's the main reason. The spec just has more going on than most others and it's the kind of spec where you really have to use your entire toolkit for full effectiveness - it has a lot of spells that are extremely powerful in specific situations and you can't really get away with just spamming one or two spells like you can with some other specs. I remember seeing a lot of holy priests in Wrath around the end of ICC who got weird ideas in their heads about what was "optimal" and started thinking their job was to basically be a renew spam bot, then got a surprised pikachu face when people started getting the impression they're kind of just a worse resto druid.

Same thoughts lead me to play Druid in BC and I only regret not having played priest again :P For Wrath I´ll go with mage and priest, with the door open to raid either.

Great video! Can you share what your WoW UI mod(s) you are using it looks very similar to what I used to use in BC as a resto shammy but for the life of me can not remember the name. Perhaps old age :D

Wrath is so much fun to heal in as an expansion in general. All the damage is so bursty and each of the healers FEELS so different from the others. I will say the difference in healing a 10 man vs 25 man is massive in turns of fun. In a 10 man every class is fun and they have to access their full toolkit. In 25 druids just spam rejuv and wild growth, Shamans spam chain heal, disc priests spam shield, paladins spam holy light.

I'm nervous, idk which to pick! Holy Priest and Resto Shaman seem hard with a lot of buttons. I don't like having to always put 4 totems down as a Shaman. I prefer how on retail totems are more like CDs and individual spells

Played disc priest back in vanilla wotlk and it was super fun, but going to change now because I want to play with other healing class. Maybe going this time resto shaman, there's going to be too many paladin players so not so sure about playing that.

There are never enough holy paladins trust me, Ive seen it on many pservers especially when you consider 1 holy paladin is x1.5 to x2 the healing output of any other healer.

Oh snap, I've been holy pala for a while on wotlk private servers lately and i didnt realise this, but it makes sense now that you say it... Also maybe not, because I remember a fight where the top holy pala won the meters by a crazy amount and his #1 heal was judgement of light, whereas BoL counts as its own spell on Details...

@@Permuh JoL 100% works with beacon, its why if you raid with multiple paladins only the Holy paladin is supposed to get to use JoL, others need to use Judgement of Wisdom since only one of each judgements can be applied per target and it goes to whoever applied it last.

I haven't played much but I would agree I really like shamans and interacting with procs really does make it fun I really enjoyed this video and plan to watch your funest DPS. Did you make one on funnest tank?

@@flamelibra3362 I haven't got to max level but as far as leveling they do pretty well, they will gradually run out but I'm not sure how this would be since I play on a modified server. All of the monsters are easier so you can solo instances slightly above your level. For instance (no pun intended) at level 32 you can solo a level 35-40 instance but I run out of mana after 2-3 groups. But if you have a mana totem and you don't mind waiting you will fill back up for free. It also depends on your gear though. P.S thank you for replying to my comment! It seems as if no one ever does. Also please let me know how helpful this was because I kinda feel like it wasn't at all because I play on a unique server.

Disc priest is my favorite but holy is probably more fun

I love paladin most since it's my main character in all expansions.

I also love Holy Priest the most of the healers I've done.

I was a holy priest main in vanilla and TBC. I switched to tank in WOTLK because I hated how much it changed. I loved playing holy, it was all I played. I hated disc. If you want to really help your raid out, you had to play disc. Holy is great in dungeons and fun, just don't expect to demand a raid spot as a holy priest. If you want to heal as a priest get gud at disc and you will demand a raid spot. Learn the fights and know when to bubble and PI the right targets. You need to use all your CDs, but you will be valued for sure.

@@shanemichaud3011 that's so utterly wrong. Holy priest is by no means a bad healer in raids. Is hpala better in tank/spot healing? Yes. But that doesn't mean hpriest is bad. They can just as well raid heal as a druid or shaman. Maybe the cutting edge speedrun guilds will have their super optimized 25 team without a hpriest, but that doesn't mean it's bad for 99.9% of the rest of the playerbase. As a hpriest in wrath you can easily heal all raids and compete with other classes on hps. I've played enough wotlk pserver to be certain of this. And of my time in classic vanilla + tbc taught me anything, then that it doesn't matter which healing spec you play. All healing specs are viable and competitive for clearing content and performing good. On top of that, EVERY guild needs healers. I've never seen a single guild recruitment post that doesn't look for healers of any kind. If you play a healer, regardless of specc or class, I have no doubt that you will easily find a guild/raid spot.

Playing a holy priest is not easy but very fun. You get to use ALL healing spells a priest can have AND there is no cookie-cutter spec. You can make a holy priest for Serendipity, Empowered Renew, Body and Soul, or all of the above but just mana intensive XD

This is a good series tho, too many people obsessed with minmaxing a 15+ year old game

Any tips on what healing class you should/would play if you were a newcomer to the game of classic? I'm looking to get into classic with wotlk release but I wont know any fights. So I dont want to be horrible at healing.

You will do fine with any except for disc. With disc it is really important to know the fights with all the others you can heal after something has happened and still do ok

For me Its resto druid or holy pala in Pvp since they take alot of fake casting in order to work.

Playing disc, so other healers don't get to play. Seems fun to me :D

Holy priest is VERY dependant on gear, esp haste, spirit gear. If you prio a hpriest in your guild to get all the good gear, yes, the priest can do really well, but not as well as a resto dudu with minimal gear :D As disco, you can basically heal anything in shadow gear.

No need to ree. Judging from his videos, Scotte likes proc classes for the dopamine triggers. Holy Paladin isnt the class for those types of players, its for the ones who like really wide toolkits to throw out those clutch utilities like hand of protection, aura mastery (huge for sarth 3d), etc

Don't see it having much use outside of 5 mans tbh, just my opinion obviously

I have played all the healers except holy paladin and most to least fun were: 1. Holy priest: Holy nova spec is insane for AOE leveling and dungeons (great aoe dmg and healing, just need mage water), can dish out decent dmg single target and the healing kit is great + circle of healing is very satisfying. 2. Resto shaman: Chain healing / riptide is fun. Totems are useful, and you can squeeze in dmg with flame shock+lava burst. 3. Disc priest: penance is very fun, but it's a less fun spec than holy 4. Resto druid: I just didn't like the playstyle. Stuck in tree form having to use healing spells

Resto druid is by far the more fun and versatile to play, but among all other healers it requires the more skills

I'm doing holy pally bc the FoL hpal build is obnoxious, easy, hilarious and strong

i think this really boils down to the principal that healing outside of progression is a snooze fest - unless you can dps inbetween heals effectively (like how all healers play in retail). I can usually get on board with healing for about 3 days before i wanna rip my teeth out

What about paladin holy in pvp ?

how can you predict in a heroic dungeon that a dps might get aggro and get hit... Sure you can watch details addon but still is not 100%... tank might use an ability and get lot aggro or dps might use a threat drop ability. Now comes my second question... can you afford the mana to have your party shielded all the time? How is Discipline in heroic dungeons (they will be buffed) as lone healer.. as for holy priest.. Greater Heal feels very slow to use... I know you need to pre-cast and cancel all the time but this I conisder not fun at all.. and when things go wrong, your slow heal may be too late when it lands.. Again, I see it from the perspective of solo healer in heroic dungeons, not raids

HELP GUYS! I was kinda sure about what I class I would pick for wotlkbut this vid really changed that. So I’ve started WotLK as a resto Druid and loved it until I got all my gear and got bored of it after a while. But then I fell in love with healing again when I started a resto shaman. Even though I created a holy paladin and noticed I started to play that more and more often . Then I took a break from WoW and came back starting a holy priest which I really enjoyed but never really raided with. So since I kinda played all classes and enjoyed them all I don’t know what to play first anymore :/. before this vid I was 100% sure I should play resto druid again. But now I’m not sure if I should pick a druid, paladin or shaman… Do you guys and girls have some more pros and cons for me why I should play one over the other

Do you really really really wanna be the best over the top healer in wotlk? Pick Paladin. Does your guild decide which healer class gets the legendary from ulduar based on the best user? Pick paladin. Do you enjoy rotating your hots and have some really sweet aoe heal? Pick druid Do you love the absolut best class fantasy in WoW? Enjoy chain heal and 4 totems instant cast? Pick shaman. MY cons: Paladin - really not engaging at all, probably the most boring healer out of all of them. Druid - can't see armor, constantly inside tree form, whacky early without fear Shaman - if your guild values best pick then kiss goodbye to the sweet sweet legendary healing mace, that defo goes to Paladin then druid + movement fights are the biggest ultra cancer for you. MY pros: Paladin - best healing class in wotlk by far + 100% chance to get the legendary mace. Druid - imo most fun / engaging healer never really get bored of him + you're a tree (sad about the armor look) 2nd/3d in getting the mace. Shaman - my personal favorite class in WoW imo best class fantasy, super nice that u can put 4 totems at once + raid wide buffs, biggest utility of all healers + pumping out serious healing numbers AND hero buff + the tier sets look awesome. I struggle to decide what I wanna play as well but if u don't have a guild yet, finding one as a holy paladin will be tough, you'd find one more easily as resto druid or shaman. OK i guessed wrong. I guessed resto shaman.

I was lambasted for meleeing bosses in vanilla wrath as a Holy Paladin. But also got surprised pikachu faces when I was top healing with mana to spare at the end of fights... /shrug
