Quran 22: 56-57 Allah says he is the one who will judge the world Matthew 25: 21-32 Jesus says he is the one who will judge the world Quran 57:3 Allah says he is the first and the last Revelation 1: 17-18 Jesus says that he is the first and the last Quran 22:7 Allah says he’s the one who will raise the dead at the resurrection John 5: 25-29 Jesus says he is the one who will raise the dead at the resurrection Here is just a few of multiple statements made from Jesus all throughout the Bible that everyone of Islam religion says ONLY Allah can make.. Not to mention how Islam is flawed is many ways too.. the biggest being it’s not a religion of peace. Quran 9: 5 states Muslims should slay the infidels wherever you find them. May you lay siege to them and take them captive.. Quran chapter 9 verse 29 says fight the Jews and Christians until they pay you the poll tax and they feel subdued.. Just a couple verses out of the whole Quran of which chapter 9 is the most violent, but violence is all over the Quran. There is peace too I won’t deny it but why must Muslims lay siege and cause pain and torment rather than pray and love thy neighbors as taught in the Bible?

The first Muslim was Muhammad? Abraham? Jacob? Moses? “And I [Muhammad] am commanded to be the first of those who bow to Allah in Islam,” (39:12). “When Moses came to the place appointed by Us, and his Lord addressed him, He said: “O my Lord! show (Thyself) to me, that I may look upon thee.” Allah said: “By no means canst thou see Me (direct); But look upon the mount; if it abide in its place, then shalt thou see Me.” When his Lord manifested His glory on the Mount, He made it as dust. And Moses fell down in a swoon. When he recovered his senses he said: “Glory be to Thee! to Thee I turn in repentance, and I am the first to believe.” (7:143). “And this was the legacy that Abraham left to his sons, and so did Jacob; “Oh my sons! Allah hath chosen the Faith for you; then die not except in the Faith of Islam,” (2:132). Does Allah forgive or not forgive those who worship false gods?

wassila mektoube scientific progress at a specific period of time(such as now) isn’t an objective indicator that society is on the right/true path. The Muslims were much more scientifically advanced than the west in the Middle Ages and using your logic the Muslims were right then. Civilisations rise and fall, just because the west leads the scientific field today doesn’t mean it would be the same for example a 100 years later. Also, it’s a western post enlightenment bias from you to assume that scientific progress is the greatest good when objectively speaking it is highly debatable.

I'm a born Muslim, but my parents always encouraged me to do my own research, because there's no point in faith if you don't believe with all your heart. The Quran literally states: "there is no compulsion in religion". Therefore, I decided to learn about all monotheistic religions, to have a lil understanding where things went wrong and why. While I was reading the Bible, my brain was boiling, because I stumbled upon contradiction upon contradiction upon contradiction and so on. My thoughts were exactly like it was said in the video: "How many contradictions one book can have? Have mercy!". It doesn't make any sense at all. I'm a law student, and I cannot stand even collusions in legal system, which was purely created by flawed creatures as humans, but seeing that supposedly *GOD'S word* has so many contradictions and distortions? This is a literal recipe for disaster for people who cannot comprehend anything without legitimate proof and logical explanation. Not to mention that I never got a legitimate source, nor did I receive any definitive explanation about the concept of trinity from theologians (in a country with Christian population). That's where Christianity differs from Islam, because Islam is *simple* and *logical.* God is one, period. He is the Creator of all, He doesn't beget, nor is He begotten, period. He is above all comprehension, and there is nothing like unto Him, period. Jesus, Moses, Abraham, Noah, Lot, Solomon, Adam and Muhammad, peace be upon all of them, are the prophets of one God, period. There's no sons (like come on, the very first human, prophet Adam, peace be upon him, didn't have a father nor mother, so why only Jesus, peace be upon him, is suddenly the son), no fathers, no holy spirits (it was just one of the angels of God, Gabriel, the angel of revelation, angels indisputably follow the commands of one God). And no contradictions. All reverts unanimously say that *all of this makes perfect sense and Islam is logical.* The word of God simply cannot be imperfect or distorted, that's absurd, since God is the Creator of all and everything. Either the word is perfect and written in the style that no human is capable of creating something even remotely similar, or this is *not* the word of God. May Allah bless you for this amazing video! And may Allah grant us all the ability to educate ourselves and find the truth.

In such cases, you must examine the facts carefully. If you find it is true and can prove that such a detestable act has occurred among you, you must attack that town and completely destroy all its inhabitants, as well as all the livestock. Then you must pile all the plunder in the middle of the street and burn it. Put the entire town to the torch as a burnt offering to the LORD your God. That town must remain a ruin forever; it may never be rebuilt. Keep none of the plunder that has been set apart for destruction. Then the LORD will turn from his fierce anger and be merciful to you. He will have compassion on you and make you a great nation, just as he solemnly promised your ancestors. “The LORD your God will be merciful only if you obey him and keep all the commands I am giving you today, doing what is pleasing to him.” (Deuteronomy 13:13-19 NLT)

And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters. 3 And God said, Let there be light: and there was light. 4 And God saw the light, that it was good: and God divided the light from the darkness. 5 And God called the light Day, and the darkness he called Night. And the evening and the morning were the first day. 6 And God said, Let there be a firmament in the midst of the waters, and let it divide the waters from the waters. 7 And God made the firmament, and divided the waters which were under the firmament from the waters which were above the firmament: and it was so. 8 And God called the firmament Heaven. And the evening and the morning were the second day. 9 And God said, Let the waters under the heaven be gathered together unto one place, and let the dry land appear: and it was so. 10 And God called the dry land Earth; and the gathering together of the waters called he Seas: and God saw that it was good. 11 And God said, Let the earth bring forth grass, the herb yielding seed, and the fruit tree yielding fruit after his kind, whose seed is in itself, upon the earth: and it was so. 12 And the earth brought forth grass, and herb yielding seed after his kind, and the tree yielding fruit, whose seed was in itself, after his kind: and God saw that it was good.

Eve was ( some say) from Adam and Jesus with God. Also, if you look at the animal kingdom. Virgin births are not that uncommon. The person says Allah says Be and it is...so he can be a three in one. Concept of God in Islam Monotheism, belief in one God, is the most important and foundational concept in Islam. Muslims believe in one God who created the universe and has power over everything within it. He is unique and exalted above everything He creates, and His greatness cannot be compared to His creation. Furthermore, He is the only one deserving of any worship and the ultimate purpose of all creation is to submit to Him. The Islamic understanding of God is distinct from all other religions and beliefs in various respects since it is based on a pure and clear understanding of monotheism. This essentially captures the concept of God in Islam, which will be further elaborated in this pamphlet. Muslims often refer to God as Allah. This is a universal name for God and does not refer to an exclusively ‘Islamic’ God. Interestingly, this name is related to the Aramaic and Hebrew names for God, Allaha and Elohim. Therefore, Allah is simply the Arabic name for God which affirms that He is One singular God with no partners or equals. The name Allah cannot be pluralized or limited to a specific gender, which establishes that God is One and that He is unique from everything He creates. Muslims continue to use this original Arabic name for God (Allah) since it perfectly expresses His unique qualities. God is the Creator and the Sustainer of the universe who created everything for a reason. Muslims believe that He created humankind with a simple purpose - to worship Him. He sent messengers to guide people in fulfilling this purpose. Some of these messengers include Adam, Noah, Abraham, Moses, Jesus, and Muhammad, peace be upon all of them. They all taught a consistent message about God by affirming His greatness as the Creator and guiding people to worship Him alone. This basic concept has always resonated with people’s natural understanding of God. (Click here to learn more about prophets in Islam.) When the final prophet, Muhammad, peace be upon him (pbuh), was asked about God, the answer came directly from God in the holy book of Muslims, the Quran (also spelled ‘Koran’): “Say, ‘He is God the One, God the eternal. He begot no one nor was He begotten. No one is comparable to Him.’” [112:1-4] This is a clear statement by God describing Himself to humanity without any room for confusion. God is One and is exalted above everything He creates and He is capable over all things. Fully accepting the oneness of God is to accept that He is distinct from everything else. It would not suit God’s majesty and glory to associate the limited attributes of His creation to Him because He is not restricted in any way, while His creation is. He is the First with no beginning and the Last with no end. Everything in the universe was created by His will. He is not confined by space or time and He is the only One who is in control and provides for His creation. “He is God: there is no god other than Him. It is He who knows what is hidden as well as what is in the open, He is the Lord of Mercy, the Giver of Mercy. He is God: there is no god other than Him, the Controller, the Holy One, Source of Peace, Granter of Security, Guardian over all, the Almighty, the Compeller, the Truly Great; God is far above anything they consider to be His partner. He is God: the Creator, the Originator, the Shaper. The best names belong to Him. Everything in the heavens and earth glorifies Him: He is the Almighty, the Wise.” [Quran, 59:22-24] Why did God create people whom He already knew would reject Him and go to hell? Shouldn’t God who is All Loving instead not create them so that they won’t go through punishment? These are some common questions connected to this topic. Answered by Nouman Ali Khan Pure Monotheism “God: there is no god but Him, the Ever Living, the Ever Watchful. Neither slumber nor sleep overtakes Him. All that is in the heavens and in the earth belongs to Him. Who is there that can intercede with Him except by His leave? He knows what is before them and what is behind them, but they do not comprehend any of His knowledge except what He wills. His throne extends over the heavens and the earth; it does not weary Him to preserve them both. He is the Most High, the Tremendous.” [Quran, 2:255] The primary pillar of Islamic belief clearly states that there is nothing worthy of worship except God. Associating partners with God or attributing qualities of lesser beings to Him is considered to be the greatest sin in Islam. In the past, this often took the form of idol worship or praying to multiple lesser gods. Although this is less common now, the current era has replaced many of the physical ‘idols’ of the past with other contemporary ‘gods.’ Many people today allow passions like entertainment, drugs, relationships or material objects to become the center of their lives. They become so consumed with these things that they submit to whatever will allow them to fulfill their desires. For example, if a drug addict allows their addiction to control their actions, beliefs, feelings, and behaviors, causing them to risk their personal safety and the safety of others, that drug has essentially become their god. Likewise, if another person puts a loved one before God by obeying that person even if that causes them to transgress against God’s commands, their loved one has taken precedence over God. Islam teaches that people should completely submit only to God as He is the only One worthy of their worship. He is the Creator and Sustainer of the universe and everything in it belongs to Him. The Quran points out the faulty thinking of those who worship other than God: “‘How can you worship things you carve with your own hands, when it is God who has created you and all your handiwork?’” [37:95-96]

You say the name allah cannot be pluralized or limited to a specific gender, which establishes that god is one, and that he is unique from everything he creates. Then why is it you refer to allah as he and him, always referring to it-allah as a male form. You have told us that allah is not gender specific, yet you continually refer to it- allah as a male. The contradiction is unfathomable, but so are most religions. Fortunately I have found one that is not Islam or christian. Best wishes on your spiritual journey.

@@tc8327 What does it mean when Allah says we ❓ Praise be to Allah. It is a feature of literary style in Arabic that a person may refer to himself by the pronoun nahnu (we) for respect or glorification. He may also use the word ana (I), indicating one person, or the third person huwa (he). All three styles are used in the Qur’an, where Allaah addresses the Arabs in their own tongue. (Fataawa al-Lajnah al-Daa’imah, 4/143). “Allaah, may He be glorified and exalted, sometimes refers to Himself in the singular, by name or by use of a pronoun, and sometimes by use of the plural, as in the phrase (interpretation of the meaning): ‘Verily, We have given you a manifest victory” [al-Fath 48:1], and other similar phrases. But Allaah never refers to Himself by use of the dual, because the plural refers to the respect that He deserves, and may refer to His names and attributes, whereas the dual refers to a specific number (and nothing else), and He is far above that.” (Al-‘Aqeedah al-Tadmuriyyah by Shaykh al-Islam Ibn Taymiyah, p. 75). These words, innaa (“Verily We”) and nahnu (“We”), and other forms of the plural, may be used by one person speaking on behalf of a group, or they may be used by one person for purposes of respect or glorification, as is done by some monarchs when they issue statements or decrees in which they say “We have decided…” etc. [This is known in English as “The Royal We” - Translator]. In such cases, only one person is speaking but the plural is used for respect. The One Who is more deserving of respect than any other is Allaah, may He be glorified and exalted, so when He says in the Qur’an innaa (“Verily We”) and nahnu (“We”), it is for respect and glorification, not to indicate plurality of numbers. If an aayah of this type is causing confusion, it is essential to refer to the clear, unambiguous aayaat for clarification, and if a Christian, for example, insists on taking ayaat such as “Verily, We: it is We Who have sent down the Dhikr (i.e., the Qur’an)” [al-Hijr 15:9 - interpretation of the meaning] as proof of divine plurality, we may refute this claim by quoting such clear and unambiguous aayaat as (interpretation of the meanings): “And your god is One God, there is none who has the right to be worshipped but He, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful” [al-Baqarah 2:163] and “Say: He is Allaah, the One” [al-Ikhlaas 112:1] - and other aayaat which can only be interpreted in one way. Thus confusion will be dispelled for the one who is seeking the truth. Every time Allaah uses the plural to refer to Himself, it is based on the respect and honour that He deserves, and on the great number of His names and attributes, and on the great number of His troops and angels.” (Reference: Al-‘Aqeedah al-Tadmuriyyah by Shaykh al-Islam Ibn Taymiyah, p. 109). And Allaah knows best.

TESTIMONY OF FORMER MUSLIM. Highlighted reply anti-lying xxl 11 hours ago ISLAM IS A MORTAL VIRUS, MANY PEOPLE DON'T KNOW THAT ISLAM IS A BRUTAL, UNJUST, IMMORAL AND CRUEL RELIGION. //// for your information , the true GOD, creator of the universe has nothing to do with the perverse God of Islam, who loves bloodshed, the captivity of women and the slave trade and who authorizes prostitution (temporary marriage). ... etc. /// I LEFT ISLAM AFTER NOTICING THAT IT WAS NOT THE RELGION OF GOD ,BUT IT IS A SATANIC RELIGION //// Islam is the source of terrorism, the source of hatred, racism, superstition, decadence and slavery. ///// Many people in the world do not know that Surah (At-Tawbah) (REPENTANCE), quoted in the satanic Quran, is a brutal surah par excellence, because it imposes and orders and authorizes the murder of non-Muslims and the rape of his wives and daughters and it is permissible to kill his children even if they are young. //// all Islamic societies suffer from deprivation, oppression, fear, tyranny, poverty and all kinds of restrictions. //// All kinds of freedom and thought are strictly prohibited in Islamic societies //// and the proof is what happened and what is happening in terms of devastation, destruction and massacres in Islamic and Arab countries because of the satanic Islamic religion. //// Some questions for the quack sheikhs of Islam who hide the reality of criminal Islam and their aim is to polish the image of Islam after its demonic and criminal teachings have been exposed. //// Why don't you tell people that in Islam prostitution is allowed, that is, (temporary marriage) ? //// Why don't you tell people the truth that homosexuality is allowed in Islam, that is, the marriage of a young girl who has not yet reached puberty? //// Why don't you tell people the truth that Islam allows kidnapping and rape, that is, the capture of women? //// Why don't you tell people the truth that Islam allows the slave trade? //// Why don't you tell people the truth that Islam allows the murder of non-Muslims and the murder of a Muslim if he wants to leave Islam and the murder of all those who criticize Islam? //// Why don't you tell people the truth that Islam has called women unclean and classified them below the rank of feces? MORAL, NATIONAL, HISTORICAL AND HUMAN DUTY OF WESTERN/AMERICAN ADMINISTRAIONS. //// Moral duty, and national duty, and historical duty and human duty, impose on good people and righteous people and true believers and people of peace in the world and on Western and American governments and on all civilized countries to end immigration, and prevent muslims entering in their countries, and prevent the spread of destructive Islamic ideology, and ban satanic clothing, (JILBAB, NIQAB-BOURQA), and ban Koranic schools that educate future terrorists, and close mosques that have become a breeding ground and a nest for terrorism EVIL AGENDA OF ISLAM TO IMPLEMENT IN WESTERN/AMERICAN SOCITY. . //// The first objective of Islamists in migrating to Western countries is to escape injustice, poverty, deprivation and slavery imposed by their Muslim rulers and because of the satanic Islamist religion, which imposes and allows Muslims to enslave Muslims, even though they are of the same religion, because the Islamic religion is a brutal religion, and even the Muslim did not escape murder, beheading and stoning, as happened in all Islamic countries. //// The second objective is to obtain a certificate of residence and to benefit from the scholarships offered by these believing and benevolent Western countries, to benefit from the bonuses allocated by these Western countries and to enjoy the freedom guaranteed also by these Western countries. //// and Once their situation is regularized, they will start to implement their evil plans, which are as follows : //// infiltrate Western societies and change their civilized way of life little by little until it becomes a chaotic way of life, spreading their criminal and immoral Islamic ideologies, and when they become strong, once their community become more numerous and large they will infiltrate companies and administrations to occupy positions, in order to fight the laws as a priority secular , who protect society, Then they block and ban the freedoms enjoyed by Western peoples and all civilized peoples, then they will ask Western governments to enforce wild and inhuman Islamic laws, which will allow them to act as they wish , and who arrange the affairs of the entire satanic Muslim community. //// the third and last step, is to make western countries, (AFGHANISTAN-BS or SMALIE-BIS or SYRIE-BIS), as well as all the civilized countries that opened its doors for the satanic Islamic religion and its psychopathic followers who call themselves the fools of God, yes indeed they are really mad they embody evil on earth and they are the loyal servants of satan //// you to know that ,my city is all Muslims, but now there are almost 50 percent who left Islam after they were sure that it is not the religion of God, but rather a satanic religion and a sexual religion

Is there or is there not compulsion in religion according to the Qur’an? “Let there be no compulsion in religion: Truth stands out clear from Error: whoever rejects evil and believes in Allah hath grasped the most trustworthy hand-hold, that never breaks. And Allah heareth and knoweth all things,” (2:256). “And an announcement from Allah and His Messenger, to the people (assembled) on the day of the Great Pilgrimage, - that Allah and His Messenger dissolve (treaty) obligations with the Pagans. If then, ye repent, it were best for you; but if ye turn away, know ye that ye cannot frustrate Allah. And proclaim a grievous penalty to those who reject Faith,” (9:3). “But when the forbidden months are past, then fight and slay the Pagans wherever ye find them, and seize them, beleaguer them, and lie in wait for them in every stratagem (of war); but if they repent, and establish regular prayers and practice regular charity, then open the way for them: for Allah is Oft-forgiving, Most Merciful,” (9:5). Fight those who believe not in Allah nor the Last Day, nor hold that forbidden which hath been forbidden by Allah and His Messenger, nor acknowledge the religion of Truth, (even if they are) of the People of the Book, until they pay the Jizya with willing submission, and feel themselves subdued,” (9:29).

Some Christians claim that the Quran has a scientific error in it regarding sperm production This is incorrect again. The critic focuses on the verses 86:6-7, especially verse 7 as this is where their contention is directed. The critic claims the Quran (86:7) is telling us that semen is produced between the backbone (sulb) and the ribs (tara’ib). The Arabic words mentioned by the Quran are sulb and tara’ib. Tara’ib is thought to mean ribs, though there is some dispute. However, the chief point of interest is the word sulb. Sulb can be translated as ‘loins’ or ‘backbone’ or ‘lower back’. The critic favours the translations which use the word ‘backbone’ as they use it to attack the Quran by claiming the Quran teaches that semen is produced between the backbone (sulb) and the ribs (tara’ib). However, the critic is very selective in deciding which translation to use as he/she avoids the numerous translations which translate ‘sulb’ as ‘loins’. They avoid these translations as they scupper their critical claims straight away as loins. Here, the word loins refers to: a. The region of the hips, groin, and lower abdomen. b. The reproductive organs. (1) So the critic refrains from using this translation for the word sulb as it is clearly scientifically accurate, ie the semen is produced in the are between the loins and ribs. So, if we translate the Quran (86:7) this way there is no contention. The misleading methodology of the critic is to avoid mention of the numerous translations which translate the word sulb as loins. Not only do they avoid mentioning the numerous translations using the word ‘loins’ they highlight translations which use the word ‘backbone’. This is rather deceptive, especially considering a number of non-Muslim translators, including a Christian translator, translates it as ‘loins’ ( A.J Arberry, George Sale, J.M Rodwell and Henry E Palmer) as well as a number of Muslim translators who also use the word loins (Hamid S Aziz, Muhammad M Ghali, Muhammad M Pickthall and Mohammad Asad) (4). It is unscholarly as well as misleading on the part of the critic not to mention this important fact. However, the critic does use Abdullah Yusuf Ali’s translation which translates it as ‘backbone’, therefore rendering a meaning of between the backbone and ribs. So the critic understands the Quran as teaching us that semen is produced between the backbone and ribs. In the way of intellectual honesty I do not want the reader to believe that only Abdullah Yusuf Ali translates this verse by using the word ‘backbone’, Shakir and Khan/Hilali also do this. The question still remains; which word should be used in the translation? Well, the critic does not tell you that Dr Edward William Lane’s Lexicon indicates the word sulb’ to mean ‘loins’ and even refers to the verse in question (86:7) as referring to the ‘loins’. So it does seem that the more accurate translation of this would be “between the loins and the ribs” as opposed to “between the backbone and the ribs” (4). Hence the critic uses the weaker translation. However, even if we assume the critic to be correct and take the translation; “between the backbone and the ribs” we still see no scientific error. The critic assumes that the ejaculate (semen) emanates from the testes, this is incorrect. Sperm is produced in the testes and is then transfered to the seminal vesicles awaiting ejaculation, the=is accounts for 5 % of the ejaculate, the rest of the ejaculate comes from the seminal vesicles (46-80%),with the prostate gland and the bulbourethral and urethral glands producing the rest of the ejaculate (2). At the time of ejaculation, all this (semen, which contains the sperm) is released From the seminal vesicles which are in fact between the backbone (coccyx, lower back) and the ribs! So if we run with the translation of the critics we see something that people would describe as a scientific miracle and not a scientific error. Osama Abdallah says the same thing but goes into a little more detail (bracketing is mine): “If one was to insist upon the literal meaning (the translation favoured by the critics), one would still find that the Quran is 100% correct literally, too. The seminal vesicles are anterior to the sacrum and coccyx (lower back, loin) and the ribs are anterior to the seminal vesicles. If one was to draw a line from the tip of the coccyx, to the upper portion of the seminal vesicle _ either one of the two_ and extend the line forward it will catch the ribcage. The seminal vesicles from which the semen spurts out during coitus, lies between the ribs and the coccyx (backbone)!” (3) The irony is that the critics accuse the Quran of making a scientific error yet the error is on their part as they only believe it to be an error as they wrongly believe semen emanates from the testes, while in fact in emanates from the seminal vesicles which are in between the backbone and the ribs! So now we all know the critics are being unfair, unscholarly and misleading when they claim the Quran (86:6-7) tells us that semen is produced in the kidneys etc.

And you can't just interpret it, we have levels of interpretation the average layman's interpretation won't be important because we don't know the historical context, we don't know the specific Tashkeel and the definitions of each word. We don't know when each verse was revealed. That's why we have scholars in the field of Islamic History. Same with hadeeths, there are levels of hadiths with Saheeh as authentic, and we have Scholars in the field of Hadith. We don't just look at it and make something up, we have different fields of study, Hadith, Quran, Fiqh, Arabic, Usul ul Fiqh e.t.c.

@Charlie Perimason 1. Surah 3 Verse 7: "It is He who has sent down to you, [O Muhammad], the Book; in it are verses [that are] precise - they are the foundation of the Book - and others unspecific. As for those in whose hearts is deviation [from truth], they will follow that of it which is unspecific, seeking discord and seeking an interpretation [suitable to them]. And no one knows its [true] interpretation except Allah. But those firm in knowledge say, "We believe in it. All [of it] is from our Lord." And no one will be reminded except those of understanding." Also it appears to me as if you are trying to say that the Quran is not special because there are some ambiguous verses in it. Bring the smartest people in the world together and bring forward a book like it then. No contradictions, no errors, 1400 years ago. 2. Every single Muslim can do that because Alhamdulillah we have scholars who study linguistics of the Quran for their entire life and tell us about it. In Islam we don’t have opinions, because we always need a proof from Quran and Sunnah to make a statement. That’s why, if a Muslim doesn’t have the knowledge, we return to our scholars and get a correct answer. May Allah (swt) bless our scholars.

@Al Masih' The Qur’an identifies the ruler of Egypt as “Pharaoh” sixty-five times, but only in the story of Moses (peace be upon him). Not a single time is Egypt’s earlier king during the time of Joseph (peace be upon him), called a “Pharaoh” in the Qur’an. This differs from the Old Testament which uses the label for both of these rulers (see: Genesis 40:7, 41:15/31/46, 50:7), though it has since been established that the term “Pharaoh” was first coined during the reign of Thutmose III (d. 1436 BC), the 18th dynasty of ancient Egypt.[16] Historians have further discovered that during the era of Joseph, the 15th to 17th dynasties of Egypt were an invading force from Palestine, and hence they were called the Hyksos (literally: foreign kings). Since “Pharaoh” meant “great house” or “elite bloodline,” and since the Hyksos were occupiers and not indigenous rulers, they were naturally ineligible for the honorific title-had it even existed.[17] Dr. Bucaille writes, I must confess that when the Qur’an was first being conveyed to people, the ancient Egyptian language had vanished from the collective memory of humanity for over two centuries, and remained that way until the nineteenth century. Therefore, it was impossible for us to know that the king of Egypt should be called anything other than the title mentioned in the Holy Bible. The subtle word choice of the Qur’an on this matter is thought-provoking.[18] The historical accuracy of the Qur’an is not just confirmed by recent archeological excavation; it astonished many early Jews and Christians just the same. The fact that Muhammad ﷺ could simply speak of personalities across different cultures like Abraham, Joseph, Moses, Jesus, Dhū al-Qarnayn, and others, with such detail was inexplicable. Similarly, the fact that he ﷺ could extensively illustrate scenes from the hereafter just as their earlier scriptures did was unbelievable for them, as Allah said, “Over it (Hellfire) are nineteen. And We have not made the keepers of the Hellfire but angels, and We have not made their number except as a trial for those who disbelieve (i.e., will they mock nineteen as few?), and so that those who were given the Scripture [prior] would be certain...” (74:31). Some Jews in Madīnah conceded that Muhammad ﷺ was, in fact, a true prophet, then resisted his message under the indefensible claim that it only applied to the Arabs. This was due to their inability to contest its divine origin, for they knew there was no access to any semblance of this history in the Arabic language whatsoever. As Allah says, “That is from the news of the unseen which We reveal to you, [O Muhammad]. You knew it not, neither you nor your people, before this” (11:49). Some of the toughest critics of the Qur’an today, like William Tisdall, confirm this: “There seems to be no satisfactory proof that an Arabic version of the New Testament existed in Muhammad’s time.”[19] In a similar vein, Pope Tawadrus II of Alexandria writes, “The first Arabic translation surfaced towards the end of the eighth Gregorian century and more than one hundred years after Islam. It was done by Bishop John of Seville in Spain. It was a partial translation that did not include the entire book, and was insufficiently circulated.”[20] As for the Torah, there is near consensus among Orientalist scholars that even incomplete translations of the Old Testament into Arabic did not exist until the 10th century.[21] Some detractors of Islam argue that none of this history is remarkable, let alone miraculous. They claim Muhammad ﷺ either learned these accounts directly from the mouths of his contemporaries or that he plagiarized them from manuscripts of the Bible that have since been lost. The accusation of being spoon-fed by others existed during the Prophet’s ﷺ life, but it quickly disappeared, and until today most serious Qur’an critics avoid citing such a ludicrous proposition because it risks their being perceived as desperate. First of all, this would be contrary to the historically indisputable integrity of Muhammad’s character. Secondly, the suggestions that Muhammad’s ﷺ knowledge of previous prophets and nations came from a Roman blacksmith in Mecca (a layman), or from a passing midday encounter with Baḥīrah the Monk, or to a single conversation with a dying Waraqah ibn Nawfal, are simply implausible. Sensible people realize that the bulk and veracity of what the Prophet ﷺ brought could only be attained with decades of apprenticeship that would be impossible for him to hide. “Say, ‘If Allah had willed, I would not have recited it to you, nor would He have made it known to you, for I had remained among you a lifetime before it. Then will you not reason?’” (10:16). As for the second accusation, that of plagiarism from the texts of Judeo-Christian scholars, only someone with a strong confirmation bias would consider this possibility, for two major reasons: As shown earlier, the Qur’an escapes the Bible’s minefield of historical inaccuracies unscathed. Therefore, in order for the unique Qur’anic narrative to be plagiarized from an earlier scripture, this would necessitate that the Prophet ﷺ somehow had access to the accurate version from the thousands of variant manuscripts. Moreover, this version would have existed only in 7th-century Arabia of all places, in a foreign language Muhammad ﷺ secretly learned, then vanished without a trace, never to be recovered again. Even if this bizarre hypothetical were true, it only accounts for the source of this incredible precision and ignores the miraculous nature of the end-product. The Qur’an responds to this notion, asserting, “And We certainly know that they say, ‘It is only a human being who teaches him [the Prophet].’ The tongue of the one they refer to is foreign, and this Qur’an is [in] a clear Arabic language” (16:103

“Anointed One” The word messiah is an anglicized form of the Hebrew word, moshiach. Its root word, mashach, is found about 140 times in the Old Testament. It means “to smear, anoint, or spread.” Mashach in Hebrew or masaha (literally to rub, to massage) in Arabic, has the meaning of anointing someone in a religious ceremony by putting holy water or oil on them. Priests and kings were anointed when being consecrated to their offices. Prophets were anointed by God in the sense that they were specially chosen by God for a specific religious mission. In fact, the Bible is replete with “anointed” ones. Although every prophet of God is an anointed one of God, the title Messiah or its translation “Christ” is exclusively reserved for Jesus the son of Mary (Isa ibn Maryam) in both Islam and in Christianity. This is not unusual in religion. There are certain other titles that can be applied to more than one prophet, yet are specifically used for only one prophet, like Rasul Allah, meaning “Messenger of God.” This title is applied to both Moses (19:51) and Jesus (61:6) in the Quran. Yet Rasul Allah among Muslims stands for Muhammad, (peace and blessings be upon him)
