God used Lee Strobel’s book The Case for Christ to move my heart and mind and lead to both my husband and my own salvation. I thank God for Strobel’s book.

The Father, The Son, and The Holy Spirit. called Samuel (Shmuel if you use Koren) three times and Eli on the third time immediately knew God Himself was calling Samuel to him (Eli).

Here are some biblical messages about attitudes toward Christ the Messiah: (Here you need to understand that the word Jew can mean a Judaist - a religious figure of Judaism. There were also Scribes/Sadducees and Pharisees). Matthew 2: 2-3: "saying, Where is he that is born King of the Jews? for we have seen his star in the east, and are come to worship him. When Herod the king had heard these things, he was troubled, and all Jerusalem with him." The king of the Jews and the Jerusalem elites... no, they were not happy, but troubled when they learned about the birth of Christ. Matthew 2: 13: "And when they were departed, behold, the angel of the Lord appeareth to Joseph in a dream, saying, Arise, and take the young child and his mother, and flee into Egypt, and be thou there until I bring thee word: for Herod will seek the young child to destroy him." Matthew 2: 16: "Then Herod, when he saw that he was mocked of the wise men, was exceeding wroth, and sent forth, and slew all the children that were in Bethlehem, and in all the coasts thereof, from two years old and under, according to the time which he had diligently inquired of the wise men." What hatred of the Jewish authorities! They even destroyed all the children in the hope of killing Christ too! Mark 3: 2: "And they watched him, whether he would heal him on the sabbath day; that they might accuse him." Mark 3: 6: "And the Pharisees went forth, and straightway took counsel with the Herodians against him, how they might destroy him." Mark 8: 11: "And the Pharisees came forth, and began to question with him, seeking of him a sign from heaven, tempting him." Luke 4: 28-29: "And all they in the synagogue, when they heard these things, were filled with wrath, And rose up, and thrust him out of the city, and led him unto the brow of the hill whereon their city was built, that they might cast him down headlong." Luke 6: 7: "And the scribes and Pharisees watched him, whether he would heal on the sabbath day; that they might find an accusation against him." Luke 6: 11: "And they were filled with madness; and communed one with another what they might do to Jesus." John 5: 18: "Therefore the Jews sought the more to kill him, because he not only had broken the sabbath, but said also that God was his Father, making himself equal with God." John 7: 1: "After these things Jesus walked in Galilee: for he would not walk in Jewry, because the Jews sought to kill him." John 7: 30: "Then they sought to take him: but no man laid hands on him, because his hour was not yet come." John 8: 59: "Then took they up stones to cast at him: but Jesus hid himself, and went out of the temple, going through the midst of them, and so passed by." John 9: 22: "These words spake his parents, because they feared the Jews: for the Jews had agreed already, that if any man did confess that he was Christ, he should be put out of the synagogue." Not only Christ himself was persecuted - even people who recognized him were expelled from the synagogue. And so on, until the day when the Cheif/High Priests condemned Christ for “blasphemy” and handed him over for execution to the occupation authorities, slandering him in “rebellion.” I was once impressed by the example of Fidel Castro: throughout his life, on average, he was subject to attempts on his life every day. Fidel was an ordinary sinful man, and Christ did not commit a single sin, but he was persecuted with fierce hatred from infancy. The problem is Devil runs the world. He is lier and murderer. This is the reason why false "christians" are happy to be friends with the persecutors of Christ. That's why we've got the Gospel about the God's kingdom. Jehovah would put everything in order. He has anointed the king, Jesus Christ. The dead will be resurected and we'll meet our beloved ones again! :-)

Even a Christian cannot brush aside the worship of Jehovah as God. In Revelation 1:5 the Son of God called himself "Jesus Christ, 'The Faithful Witness.'" When on earth as a man he was a Jew, an Israelite, to whose nation the words of Isaiah 43:10 were written: "'You are my witnesses, 'is the utterance of Jehovah, 'even my servant whom I have chosen.'" Jesus demonstrated that he was a faithful and true witness of Jehovah God. His genuine disciples today must be the same kind of Wernesses, Jehovah's.

The outcome of the Flood proved that Noah and his family were the only ones who had the right religion. History shows that Jesus and his disciples were the only ones in their day practicing right religion. And a study of the Bible will prove the same about Jehovah's witnesses today.

‭Romans 8:9-11 [9] However, you are not in the flesh but in the Spirit, if indeed the Spirit of God dwells in you. But if anyone does not have the Spirit of Christ, he does not belong to Him. [10] If Christ is in you, though the body is dead because of sin, yet the spirit is alive because of righteousness. [11] But if the Spirit of Him who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you, He who raised Christ Jesus from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through His Spirit who dwells in you. ‭John 14:16-17 [16] I will ask the Father, and He will give you another Helper, that He may be with you forever; [17] that is the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it does not see Him or know Him, but you know Him because He abides with you and will be in you.

Deut 4:2 (KJV) and Rev 22:18-19 (KJV) tell us there can be only one preserved Word of God. And yet version after version is spewed out to deceive. There is not a power that is not given by God. Through providence God raised up the most powerful nation there ever was or will be, the U.S.A., and in its infancy it was given the preserved word of God; “Robert Aitken, a Philadelphia printer, was the first to publish the first American edition of the K.J.V. New Testament in 1781 and the K.J.V. Old Testament in 1782, omitting the Apocrypha. On completion, he petitioned and received from the Congress of the Confederation, an official endorsement that Aitken added to the binding of his Bibles, to assure colonists that they were buying a non-royalist edition: “Resolved, that the United States in Congress assembled… recommend this edition of the Bible to the inhabitants of the United States and hereby authorize him to publish this recommendation.” As a result, the Aitken Bible (KJV) is often referred to as “The Bible (KJV) of the Revolution.” The nation was given the KJV, not the dead sea scrolls, not the book of Enoch, not Hebrew books etc. but only the KJV. If God wanted us to understand his word in Hebrew he would have raised this nation up speaking Hebrew. Back in the 1600’s God saw to it that the certain scriptures were translated into English “KJ Bible” and was put into print so that all could read for themselves the truth that in in the scriptures. God did this because he knew that he would bring about this powerful nation [U.S.A. and the English language] of ours to lead the world. The scriptures were written by apostles and prophets inspired by God through the Holy Ghost. The compilation and translation to English was also done by the direction of God through the Holy Ghost and he did not make any mistakes, i.e., the fourth horse being “pale” was no mistake, the horse is not green. In Greek mythology, the name Chloris (Khloris Χλωρίς, from khloros χλωρός, meaning “greenish-yellow,” “pale green,” “pale,” “pallid” or “fresh”) appears… Pallid 1. pale; faint or deficient in color; wan: a pallid countenance. People say that they believe that scripture was written by the direction of God and the Holy Ghost, which is true. But what you people don’t seem to realize is that the compilation and translation of the bible (KJV) was also done by the direction of God and the Holy Ghost. If the bible (KJV) was written and compiled by men of opinion and perspective and translated by incompetent translators then you might as well throw it in the trash. The prophets were told what to write and how to write it, 2 Peter 1:20-21 (KJV) The nation was given the symbol of the Eagle, 37 … Wheresoever the body is, thither will the eagles be gathered together. Luke 17:37 (KJV), the body being the Church, the body of Christ. The nation has the motto and preamble “in God we trust” and “one nation under God”. This greatest and most powerful nation the U.S.A., has been given the last and best chance to lead the world to heaven on earth or destruction. But like all other nations of power before it (symbolic Israels, Rev 11:8 (KJV)) the U.S. has chosen destruction and is now the great “liar” saying “in God we trust” and “one nation under God”, it is now the conglomerate of the dragon, beast, false prophet, and harlot, it is Satan loosed from the pit, 7 And when the thousand years are expired, Satan shall be loosed out of his prison, 8 And shall go out to deceive the nations which are in the four quarters of the earth Rev 20:7-8 (KJV). And yet no one seems to know of or speak of a very clear fulfillment of prophecy in our recent history. We (U.S.A.) are the ones who brought down fire from heaven in Aug. of 1945 and we are the ones that gave life to the image of the beast in May of 1948. Rev.13:13-15 (KJV). All glory to God. Amen

JM, it seems like to me that you only like this because some articles are pulled from the Archaeological Study Bible. The Strobel stuff is crap, I have a certain familiarity with one of his books from 40 + years ago when I used it to write a paper in High School. I cringe when I think about that. His stuff is amazingly weak, the examples you gave about the plagues are a perfect example, along the lines of the arguments about the two different deaths of Judas in the NT. Strobel seems to think if you can create a scenario that is not absolutely completely physically impossible it can be called a fact. Weak sauce. Also, I assumed this was in the NIV, I don't recall you saying. After some slo-mo playback I saw it on the title page. I started reading Genesis in the Life Application Study Bible, I found a near perfect hardcover copy at the Goodwill for $1.83. It is interesting, but I have never used a study Bible. I take notes and look the stuff up later and read the Wiki articles and watch the Bible Project vids on youtube. I find notes all over the pages annoying. So far I don't think it has helped understand anything.

God called the vault “sky.” And there was evening, and there was morning-the second day." Study Bible- the "expanse between the waters" was a separation between the sea and the mists of the sky. The word "hevel" or "ade" was not used. It is water above and water below. This was just the very first mistake I found. The study bible leads you down wrong roads, annoying. I don't mind it being wrong about the OT cosmology, but not the words on the page. I also don't want to have to turn page after page to read the text, I read too quickly, I don't even like double column because it slows me down. And trust me, reading a synopsis, or watching a synopsis after you have completed a book of the Christian Bible is never a bad idea, you should try it. You can disagree with the synopsis, but if you can't follow it you should go back to clarify your understanding.

Jesus taught his followers only one religion, the true religion. It is like a road leading to everlasting life. Jesus said: "Few are finding" that road. (Matthew 7:14) God accepts only worship based on his Word of truth. All true worshippers are united in one faith. ----John 4:23, 24; 14:6; Ephesians 4:4, 5.
