    I had no idea from all the blogs/podcasts/videos that Jon Collins has such a great sense of humor! That slide show was hilarious! Would love to see the rest of this conference! Thanks TBP and also thanks for going with Dr. Mackie’s name choice for TBP instead of Jon’s “Theology is Boring!” I hope TBP reads some of the positive comments after their videos as they are doing exactly what was discussed here: getting people to really see what the Bible, the one unified story all about the remarkable Jesus, as it reveals itself! I highly recommend Dr. Mackie’s archive series on Who is God? It may be “I Am Who I Am!” - 12 part series that’s great! Thanks for posting! Merry Christmas! 🎄📖🎚🌟

    I for one did not know that TBP was something I needed, but I don't know where I'd be without it. It's awesome to find not only Christians who are willing to think honestly, but who also can portray faith and knowledge incredibly well. I hope Skye Jethani was right when he said this project would be remembered for a long time. I want to keep returning to these videos!

    “ listen to the Bible with no agenda”. Love that tip and so much discussed here. And appreciate your passion for the Bible and teaching us about it through your videos. Thanks so much. PS. I was also one those youth group teens on EE teams that went out armed with the 2 questions and formula. 🤗 I so relate.

    It is time for believers worldwide to WAKE UP, get serious about reading the WORD, obeying what we read and STOP putting our trust in man! Cursed is the man who trusts in man and makes flesh his arm, and whose heart turns away from Yahweh"(Jeremiah 17:5) We have been LIED TO in Churches about the Name above all names. Our Creator has a Name - YAHWEH and He put His Name upon His one and only begotten Son - YAHSHUA. Be on guard before Him and obey His voice. Do not rebel against Him, for He is not going to pardon your transgression, for My Name is in Him." (Exodus 23:21) We have been LIED TO about the SABBATHS of Yahweh. Also the sons of the foreigner who join themselves to Yahweh, to serve Him, and to love the Name of Yahweh, to be His servants, all who guard the Shabbath, and not profane it, and hold fast to My Covenant - them I shall bring to My qodesh mountain, and let them rejoice in My house of prayer." (Isaiah 56:6-7) We Have been LIED TO about the COMMANDS of Yahweh. And by this we know that we know Him, if we guard His Commands. The one who says, 'I know Him,' and does not guard His Commands, is a liar, and the truth is not in him. But whoever guards His Word, truly the love of Elohim has been perfected in him. By this we know that we are in Him. (1 John 2:3-5) It is time to PRAY for an opening of BLINDED EYES to understand His loving Covenant to ISRAEL, who we MUST be GRAFTED IN TO to become the children of Yah! It's time to shelve our learning inherited from "the whore" and become as little children to allow the Spirit of Yah to re-instruct us in the TRUTH! Truly, I say to you, unless you turn and become as little children, you shall by no means enter into the reign of the shamayim." (Matthew 18:3) It's time to CLEAN UP our act and to cease wallowing in the abominations and lusts of the world! Come out from among them and be separate, says יהוה, and do not touch what is unclean, and I shall receive you." (2 Corinthians 6:17) A total enslavement is coming very very soon. You want Truth with Scripture go to 2besaved dot com.

    The Bible is the "Living Word"... thus this is why we keep growing & learning daily....

  • @Lex_Koncord

    @Lex_Koncord

    I would have to respectfully disagree :) We keep growing and learning because of the Holy Spirit - the counselor, helper and teacher. There is no life in scripture alone, and Jesus alone is the Living Word. Jesus makes it clear that scripture points to Himself, and only in Him there is life. We need to be careful we're not putting scripture on a pedestal or replacing the Holy Spirit with the "holy bible". Keep your worship and your attention pointed to the Father and Jesus. Most Christians for most of human history didn't have any written scripture at their disposal... why do we now think it's a requirement to be mature Christians? Be blessed on your journey!

    @@Lex_Koncord His Word is our sword and its also a light to our path. Its profitable for doctrine, reproof, correction and training in righteousness and you need the Holy Spirit to truly understand it. We test all things against Scripture. We arent worshipping it. The Bible was literally written through people BY the Holy Spirit.

    @@htebazileeilsel2293 "The Bible was literally written through people BY the Holy Spirit." May I ask, how is that any different than how we are called to live today? My point of the comment is that the "living word" is no one but Jesus. Even Jesus confirmed that the Scriptures are dead (John 5:39-40). Calling the Bible and Jesus by the same things is confusing. Jesus is the Word, the message from God. The Bible is scripture (sacred writings).

    @@Lex_Koncord His written word is alive, sharper than any two edged sword. Think of it this way, the Bible CAME from God's mouth, its written for us so that can we have instruction/proper doctrine, assurance, wisdom, encouragement,so we can test the spirits, so that we can identify deception, know what God is like, its even where we get the gospel and so so much more, it is profound how intricate the Bible is. Scripture isnt Jesus but it came from His mouth, its like if your husband writes you a letter, those thoughts came from his mind. He is not the letter but the letter came from him.

    @@Lex_Koncord Yes, Jesus gives us eternal life,the Scriptures point to Him but the Pharisees rejected Him, which is why Jesus said what He said to them. He wasnt saying Scripture isnt important or that we don't need it. Consider the Berean Jews in Acts, they were commended for searching the Scriptures daily to see if what Paul was preaching was true.

    Hi Jon and Tim. Thank you for the time and effort you have put into your research. I am so thankful because you save me spending many years of research and reading, almost instantly I have what feels like the first two thirds of my relationship with GOD. What remains for me to do is put the New Human to work, sort of like the application of it all or The Continuing Story of the Bible in Humanity. While looking at your presentation I thought to myself something in missing - there should be another person with those two. One who is focused on The Application of The Bible. Let me explain that all my life I have set up businesses culminating in setting up my own business. After studying Church Planting for five years I applied the same principles to business it was an amazing experience. You can read about what we did in a book my wife and I wrote called "Pope's Passion" available on line through Amazon and Balboa Press. By the way I am not putting my hand up to be the third person. Hey Tim, Love the videos you guys have been making (including Bible Project - so cool!). Was wondering what your thoughts were on mental illness? I know God is able to heal our afflictions...through sanctification, obedience, and a relationship with Jesus. I’m just curious what your personal thoughts or beliefs on this are given that mental illness is such a widespread epidemic in America and many times a difficult thing for Christians be able to integrate into their relationship with Christ. For example with anxiety it can be difficult to separate convictions from condemnation, etc.. God bless and merry Christmas!

    Any way you'd consider posting this powerpoint? I've written a Kids Church curriculum, largely inspired by your Bible Project and the 'Theme's through the whole Bible pointing to Jesus', trying very hard NOT to be the 'here are some bible-heroes you should learn from' that can easily happen in Sunday School lessons. I'd love to use this powerpoint to help motivate/train the teachers :) Thanks for you consideration and ALL your generosity in posting so much awesome material! On that note...I recently watched Dr. Mackie's lecture on the Gospel of John (Posted on March 14th) and was wondering if there was a way to get the handout?

    Sarah Braun I’m so glad you’re doing that! I noticed after becoming a Christian in high school that some teens knew all these random Bible stories from growing up in church that seemed (in my limited understanding at the time) to have nothing to do with God or Jesus. Many of them didn’t even talk about God or act like Christians which made it even more confusing. I often felt like I was missing something, but now I know it was them. :(

    Frank Torres it’s called the Romans Road if you want to google it. But it is not secret code about getting to heaven. He was making a joke that pulling out individual verses is not the best way to understand the Bible. If you’re new to the Bible, the book of John is a good place to start.

    If you want to understand Scripture dont go to seminary school, a degree doesnt mean you understand Scripture!! Ask God to teach you, interpretation belongs to God. You need the Holy Spirit to properly understand. And its not just literature!!You cant just study academically The Word of God is alive and sharper than any two edged sword. Tim Mackie is teaching so much error but people are blinded by his PhD and their admiration for him. Dont rely on him to tell you what Scripture means, study for yourself, read the entire thing front to back and take notes, ask God to teach you and give you understanding, He will if you believe. These guys badly misrepresent the Bible. Seems THEY misunderstand how the Holy Spirit works..like the prophets didnt just use their own intellect or genius..God was speaking things THROUGH them,they were compelled by the Spirit..They also fail to mention that EVERYTHING in the Old testament is ACTUAL history, including Genesis- which they deny.
